Well, I guess that maybe some of your ancestors were from Murcia. In the early middle ages iberian people used to get their surnames (in some cases from) the town or place they were born or lived. By the way, Murcia comes from the arab Mursy-ya: "The Kingdom Of Light".
how did people get on the topic of Murcianos being racist? that's really daft; EVERYBODY is intolerant to some degree; it's easy to point fingers at certain people and say they're racist when racism is existent throughout the world. Intolerance IS a problem in Murcia, but it's the culture of Spain which causes the Spanish to want a completely homogeneous society. It's not just in Murcia where there's problems with racism, it's all over the place. so don't make generalizations about all citizens.
Please, since it is possible to say that murcia should be racist when it receives the majority of immigrants of Spain, you come to Murcia and you wil love his peoples and his culture, you won´t repent
Ahm, and you comments are racist, lie and odious. Please if you don´t know the murcianos (Murcia people) silent and visit MURCIA
maybe ur not racist, but most of you are racists. i atell my friends in tourism to avoid going there, you have bad reputation with arabs and blacks.i hope you get what you deserve
well the reason why we make that impression is because constantlyrecive planes & ships full of inmingrants, its not that we dont want them , we just dont want them ALLin murcia, why dont they spread them throughout the country? we basically cant stand the situation, just because they wont find job there anymore unless its illegal taking vegetables or in the construction..this whole thing is very complex but we r not more racists than the rest, i do asure you.

hubke, thanx for let the people to know my city. Yes, Murcia (and of course Alicante and the villages of Levante) worth a visit. And I recomend to visit every region in Spain from North to South.
Anyway, people must know that Murcia is a place very different.Murcia is from Costa Calida.
A british bussines man from England called Murcia as "Alicante Sur", words that damaged the reputation from Murcia. This man -i don't remenber his name- has an very important airline - i will search the name -, and i think that is a mistake to call Murcia "Alicante Sur".
Of course, I am agree that you feauture Murcia on the website www.alicante-spain.com
I know that Murcia is not Alicante. This is why we feature the city of Murcia on our Website http://www.alicante-spain.com as one of the nice cities around to visit. The video is part of a series of videos where we present interesting sightseeing attractions and places to visit whilst you are at the Costa Blanca or the Costa Dorada.
So its not a mistake - as the www.alicante-spain.com is just the copyright note on the bottom of the video.

Murcia is'nt from Alicante. Alicante is from Comunidad Valenciana, not Región de Murcia.
You had a very important mistake, man.
