I sometimes wish some of the hoax supporters would spend some time checking out literature about the engineering cahllenges, and the true story really, rather than get hung up on 'fluttering flags' etc.Its not a matter of belief either, simply a fact. In other photos, the astro-NOTs are clearly being moved with the assistance of wires.
The Apollos were big enough to be seen by the naked eye from the ground if they only orbited Earth. They didn't. Plus: Both professional and amateur radio astronomers tracked the signals from the Apollos all the way to the Moon and back. The "anomalies" on the photos You mention have been refuted over and over again. What "Earth over the horizon" photos? They all landed on the side facing Earth. No photos taken from the ground shows the horizon and the Earth at the same time.
We can all tell the reality of the moon walks by observing the extraordinary way that the dust kicks up. If you reckon the dust looks normal then you are a stupid twat.

The data gathered by the Japan's SELENE project will not be informative to someone who has already decided that the landings did not take place. The data was confirmed later by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. With India's Chandrayaan-1 findings regarding water molecule formation on the moon's surface there is even more renewed interest in going back to the moon. The undeniable proof either way will be found within 10-12 years. The believer, non-believer, and curious will all see.
I do have to wonder though, what will be the reaction of both sides when the undeniable evidence that proves that man walked on the moon is found. Will the hoax believers be apologetic and contrite? Or simply continue to deny and come up with a new improbable theory? I hope for the former, but with the tactics of hoax believers I expect the latter. How were the ultraviolet photos taken by Apollo 16 from the surface of the moon faked when the data that was found was unknown before the mission? The hoax is not only improbable it's impossible to prove.

Its easy to prove the landings with the laser reflectors. Or more importantly the amount of reflectors we can detect. The first one was left by Apollo 11 in 1969. I dont know how long it took them to get a return beam. But once they did they sent up another with Apollo 14 and one that was 3 times larger than the previous two on Apollo 15. Thats 3 reflectors or more correctly retroreflectors by 1971. The Russians soft-landed the unmanned probes Lunokhod 1 in 1970 and Lunokhod 2 in 1973.
Lunokhod 1 has been undetectable since 1971. That means 40 years of independent experiments with 4 different retroreflectors. If NASA astronauts did not land on the moon we would have only one Russian reflector to conduct experiments. But that is not the case. Widely available photos of Apollo 11 lander and reflector, Apollo 14 reflector with footprints close by, Lunar orbiters photographing Apollo landing sites in 2008 by Japan and NASA in 2009 are pretty solid evidence too.

The Apollo reflectors were not attached to any mechanical device. This dictated that they be put in place and calibrated by human hands...or advanced robots that no one had the technology to build then. So you would've indeed needed to be on the moon to place the Apollo lasers there.

The Russian reflectors could be calibrated by the systems controlling the unmanned rovers they were attached to. The US reflectors were not designed to be attached to a rover but placed directly on the surface of the moon so that they were mark fixed points, an important aspect of the LLR experiments. This is just one way to prove the landings. The ultraviolet photos gathered by Apollo 16 have been proven to be taken from the moon's surface and impossible to fake without going to the moon.

I'd be happy to share all the evidence I have that proves the landings if you would be interested in having it independently confirmed. I was making a calculation based on dollars per person. I am sorry but I do not know how to divide millions by 200 million. The point was never about the exact result. The perfection of the rocket engine and the advent of the computer age is what enabled manned spaceflight capable of such an endeavor. we had plenty of reasons to fake the landing, its impossible to know for certain, i don't place an endless amount of faith in the words of people who lied about any number of things dealing with national security. Tonkin Gulf for example. But I don't claim to know they didn't go to the moon. There are strange anomalies in the images and stories. the photos of WW2 are consistent, it happened. The moon landing might have happened, and might not have.

I sometimes wish some of the hoax supporters would spend some time checking out literature about the engineering cahllenges, and the true story really, rather than get hung up on 'fluttering flags' etc.Its not a matter of belief either, simply a fact. There is not a single piece of evidence for fakery I have seen, that cant be easily shown as flawed. For Apollo supporters mentioning the launch and touchdown --- Yes, they took off, orbited the Earth, and then touched down on the "return from the Moon".
There is a picture with IDENTICLE background AND foreground objects that are identical with one exception - the LEM is only in one of them.
In other pictures, the Earth appears at different angular positions over the horizon.
In other photos, the astro-NOTs are clearly being moved with the assistance of wires.

The Apollos were big enough to be seen by the naked eye from the ground if they only orbited Earth. They didn't. Plus: Both professional and amateur radio astronomers tracked the signals from the Apollos all the way to the Moon and back. The "anomalies" on the photos You mention have been refuted over and over again. What "Earth over the horizon" photos? They all landed on the side facing Earth. No photos taken from the ground shows the horizon and the Earth at the same time.

The data gathered by the Japan's SELENE project will not be informative to someone who has already decided that the landings did not take place. The data was confirmed later by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. With India's Chandrayaan-1 findings regarding water molecule formation on the moon's surface there is even more renewed interest in going back to the moon. The undeniable proof either way will be found within 10-12 years. The believer, non-believer, and curious will all see.

Don't act as if you really expected to see proof. You would have denied and belittled any data that was gathered. Don't waste your time on trying to disprove the undeniable. Most intelligent hoax believers have moved on from arguing about perceived spotlights and supposedly botched photos. They no longer argue about the Van Allen Belts or stars in photos because all of these arguments have been debunked. But if man did orbit the moon without landing, how did the various scientific experiments make it to the surface of the moon? More importantly how did the ones that had to return with each mission make it back from the surface of the moon and back to the CSM for return to Earth for Analysis? How were the ultraviolet photos taken by Apollo 16 from the surface of the moon faked when the data that was found was unknown before the mission? The hoax is not only improbable it's impossible to prove.

Its easy to prove the landings with the laser reflectors. Or more importantly the amount of reflectors we can detect. The first one was left by Apollo 11 in 1969. I dont know how long it took them to get a return beam. But once they did they sent up another with Apollo 14 and one that was 3 times larger than the previous two on Apollo 15. Thats 3 reflectors or more correctly retroreflectors by 1971. The Russians soft-landed the unmanned probes Lunokhod 1 in 1970 and Lunokhod 2 in 1973.

Lunokhod 1 has been undetectable since 1971. That means 40 years of independent experiments with 4 different retroreflectors. If NASA astronauts did not land on the moon we would have only one Russian reflector to conduct experiments. But that is not the case. Widely available photos of Apollo 11 lander and reflector, Apollo 14 reflector with footprints close by, Lunar orbiters photographing Apollo landing sites in 2008 by Japan and NASA in 2009 are pretty solid evidence too.

actually the reflectors cannot be "dropped" by any stretch of the imagination. The Russian reflectors arrived on the moon via soft-landed rovers and could be calibrated after landing. The Apollo reflectors were not attached to any mechanical device. This dictated that they be put in place and calibrated by human hands...or advanced robots that no one had the technology to build then. So you would've indeed needed to be on the moon to place the Apollo lasers there.

The Russian reflectors could be calibrated by the systems controlling the unmanned rovers they were attached to. The US reflectors were not designed to be attached to a rover but placed directly on the surface of the moon so that they were mark fixed points, an important aspect of the LLR experiments. This is just one way to prove the landings. The ultraviolet photos gathered by Apollo 16 have been proven to be taken from the moon's surface and impossible to fake without going to the moon.

Proven in 1972 by the TD 1 satellite launched by the European Space Research Organization which eventually became the European Space Agency. Subsequently confirmed by by almost every other imaging satellite and space telescope in existence. I've made no assertions that I could change anyone's mind. I've merely shown that there is widely available irrefutable evidence that has been confirmed by the scientific community of the world, not just the US.

I was making a calculation based on dollars per person. I am sorry but I do not know how to divide millions by 200 million. The point was never about the exact result. It points out that millions of dollars in US government spending is on the range of 1$ per person. but, afterall, there are only 500 characters to write these comments in.

Finding is the act of trying to locate something. Seeing only occurs at the end of 'finding' when you are finished locating it. If I hid a flag in a forest and I asked you to locate the flag I wouldn't say go see the flag. On the other hand, if if put a flag in front of you while you eyes are closed I wouldn't say open your eyes and find the flag. So yeah there is a difference. Okay so the USA spent MILLIONS of dollars to fake the moon landing! They got astronauts payed them off, all the scientist payed them off, built 11 multi million rockets.
Then they go through the trouble and make a giant vacuum, film it, pay off the camera men? Sounds pretty hardcore to me. Oh and the Russians have been to the moon many times as well. Wouldn't you think if they didn't find our nice little flag they would be the first to yell fake? Or are they faking it too?

There has been 9 missions with 6 landings, a crew of three on each, three men going there twice. 24 men went to the Moon, and 12 walked on its surface.
The moon is a boring, desolate place with nothing there for us.

Google "moon hoax telescopes", no quotes, and go to the badastronomy blog post, and you have your answer. Not enough resolution. Hubble looks at INSANELY large objects; the flag is smaller than its mirror!!

This a classic "moving the goal post" fallacy; one could disprove anything via this method. fortunately, the LRO/LCROSS missions will provide further proof if any is really needed, although of course, there will be more cries of fakery!

what about empirical evidence? the landing sites cannot be seen, there should be some sort of evidence left on the moon... I have some scientist friends with a very powerful radiotelescope, if they can't find it I won't believe it...

I don't get these "hoaxers". The scientific community doesn't lie to itself. Putting men on the moon was technologically doable in the 60s. The perfection of the rocket engine and the advent of the computer age is what enabled manned spaceflight capable of such an endeavor. I think the whole problem is we haven't returned for financial reasons. Do the hoaxers believe the Russians faked Gargarin's flight?

we had plenty of reasons to fake the landing, its impossible to know for certain, i don't place an endless amount of faith in the words of people who lied about any number of things dealing with national security. Tonkin Gulf for example. But I don't claim to know they didn't go to the moon. There are strange anomalies in the images and stories. the photos of WW2 are consistent, it happened. The moon landing might have happened, and might not have.
