grnrush, The shear fact is that the "fake GTO" is only a few tenths faster then the fastest "real GTO". Thats not real good for around 32 years of engine development! As well it comes down to displacement in an all out limitless money build. You can even go aftermarket to make real GTOs to other then drags. I would also like to add that the IRS really sucks for drags, they are easy pickings for street light drags. So at the end of the day it's an ugly import that gets beat by "old beasts"!

The LS motors GM's building are second to none, they have cars running in the 12's while getting 24 mpg. But whoever the thirty year old woman is that is in charge of styling the cars needs to be replaced.

LOL , they are ugly! The LS might just be the best V8 engine ever made. The idea of moving the cranks center line up into the engine was something Dodge figured out in the 60's. However the ability to use "perfect" CNCed & rather exotic (for a production engine) materials, PC designed engine that even uses the oil pan as part structure of the engine rather then just a "pan" is cutting edge. The current Gen of SBC should be placed among the league of the more expensive! But still Chevy!

That depends on how you look at it, from what I dug up old GTO drag tests & the fake GTO is only .09 faster, at the end of the 1/4 mile it's faster & at the end of the day it would win, however 30plus years and less then 1 second faster? That seems well, kinda shitty, no? All my PMD cars are as well not factory built engines, & anyone who wishes so can swap in a cam, better heads or even an aftermarket PMD designed block & put the idea that Holden is faster to sleep.

@grnrush Respect... Have some, I couldn't compare the two. We''re talking about a nearly 40 year difference in technology here. I love my 68, but I willingly admit it's sub par suspension, bias ply's, and tons of power, but a driveline that indeed loses it in translation.. But do I care? No, I'd take my 68 over a newer GTO any day, new cars just lack soul, they look like balloons, and they weren't built for anything but a profit. Whereas these machines were built for the people.
