Thankyou Brian for everything you did. I consider myself extremely lucky to have grown up in a city where a genius plied his trade. As a teenager I grew up around this club and this man. It could so easily have happened elsewhere. You dont know how lucky I feel today. Sure, at the time we probably felt like we deserved success. The arrogance that comes from being in the moment. As an afterthought, thats when you realise just how lucky you were.

@MrLobjectif Alex Ferguson only made Aberdeen successful aswell down to the era he was in if he was to leave Man Utd and do that today he'd fail miserably no one can be as good as this guy you're right considering he had limited transfer funds took a lower side from the lower divisions and winning the European Cup back to back tbh i know it sounds silly but the only one that could do that today is Phil Brown if the whole league was fair.

Cloughie was an alchemist who turned base metal into gold twice, at Derby and Forest. His achievements with them cannot be overstated. OK, he had an ego the size of a planet, but he delivered great success to two clubs who were in the doldrums. Mishandled things at Leeds, true, and didn't pull up any trees at Brighton, but overall he was a wonderful manager, and his teams played good football.

The greatest British manager ever. He assembled those sides at Derby and Nottingham Forest with great rapidity unlike Ferguson and for relative peanuts.

And he always played football the right way.Neat passing football on the ground.

As he said if football was meant to be played in the air God would have put grass in the sky.

The only thing the so-called sheen movie portrayed correctly was those arrogant little twonk Leeds players deliberately losing him his job. The fat jock and the mick were an absolute disgrace.

What did Revie ever achieve after leaving? England failure and nothing else.

What did Cloughie achieve? Status and back to back european cups a few years later. Legend.

He brought Nottingham Forrest from division 2 to the European cup and defended it succesfully so If a manager nowadays did something like that wud they have to get a championship club to the prem and win the champions league?

@hearns00001 If someone did that now they'd be hailed as the greatest manager of all time. Clough not only did that at Forest but turned Derby from a mid-table division 2 side into a Premier League winning team. Ferguson is the only manager these days who comes close but look at how he bought his way to the top

Just noticed at 06:10 Peter Shilton is wearing an Umbro goalkeeper's top, but the other Nottingham Forest players are wearing Adidas strips. Don't know if this was normal in the late 70s?

@akava77 In the 1974 World Cup Final Johan Cruyff had an exclusive deal with Puma, who supplied him with their Puma King boots, so he was unwilling to sport the three trademark stripes of Adidas which Holland wore. He took 1 stripe off his top..

I first noticed the carpet in the hallway of the hotel from the film The Shining as the background to your YT page. Then i read your profile and saw that you mentioned that.
