@relaxshacksDOTcom Thanks Deek. It was just a fun stop on a roadtrip through France after a friend's wedding. Actually felt kind of out of context to find this woman with a very old chateau and then these 5 cubes in her backyard, plus a circus caravan for rent.
@olden89c I live in Saskatchewan. We built pole style. We are using blow in insulation over the upper girt. 6 1/2" thick. The glass keeps out air nicely. Vapor barrier inside still. It is way unconventional. Doing compost toilet under the home and greywater to a pit or trees when we plant them. Bio-filter the gunk from the greywater before subjecting it to the soil. Built it for a low cost. AND since its resin, it just needs paint every now and then. It looks like a bomb shelter right now though
@YiuTeub Thanks YiuTeub, that was very interesting to hear. I'm only considering doing something similar, along those lines in principle, but it's nice to hear other people actually having a go and making it work. Now, I just have to choose what part of my country to put it in. :)
This is cute and the lady seems really nice, but you can go to the Tumbleweed tiny house company and buy the plans for something much nicer at a much better overall cost. There is a 7 by 14 house on wheels (wheebee) that costs about 20,000 to build.
@yafola1 No, not everyone can buy those plans you speak of. You are talking about two different continents. There are different building codes and climates to consider.

Seeing as my city is currently facing a housing crisis, I would like to see it investing into small homes aimed towards single college students who can't afford apartments or houses...
Is expensive cose is made from ''french wood'':)) U understant the irony. If the wood was walnut or cherry but it wasnt french olalalala mon dieu, c'est ne pas posible:))) they could not ask 40 000 $.
PS: U found anyone trying to take a dump in ur '' house'' by mistake?:))
@qpae123 I may be misunderstanding them, but from the time I spent in Europe a few years ago (I'm from the Midwest), I learned that expensive was often used as a way of saying "high quality". There was really an atittude of "you get what you pay for" and saying that something was low-cost also implied that it was poorly made. I think she might be saying that it was made locally-not imported, and that it's of high quality, so you pay for that in the price.
@qpae123 Somehow I doubt you have 430 sq meters to yourself.
Also you can't buy an apartment in France for a mere $40.000. There's a reason Romanians flock to the West. Salaries are higher. You don't sound very experienced or well traveled.
@olden89c U understand in Romania are verry rich people and the poor people like any other country on this planet? Of course the pour people are the ones forced to emigrate .But in this times I dont wish that to noone.
@qpae123 Yes, however you are the one that seems to forget that Romanians are "poorer" on average than the average French person. You cannot compare prices without taking salaries into acount. It's called purchasing power parity.
Romania's a fine country, but you can't talk about how cheap everything is there without talking about the background for that...
@olden89c I was 10 years ago in ur country , In Monte Carlo, Channes, Nice was quite nice, as a tourist, but this days to be honest I wouldnt go. Ur country is full of gypsies, beggars ( I know cose they left from here Thank god they are nomads:)) many places I seen are quite misarable . Opening borbers and helping our countrys to get rid of all our scums, was a blessing for us here ! I prefer other destination to domy vacations now.
@olden89c Yes and Vatican is Not Italian lol, I visited the Palace, I seen the Guard change,( nothing spacial, most boring guard change I ever seen) , and palace was not special either, More interesting was the Museum of Oceanography. I was in 1999, And I remember were selling a comemorative coint in every ciTy, PS We had/ have here in Romania lots nicer places then Monte Carlo.
@qpae123 Monaco has its charm, if nothing else. France and Italy were a number of smaller states so your derision is undeserved. If you read the history of the region you will soon see.
I'm sure Romania has its charms as well, my parents visited in the 1970s. It's just easier to visit Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. Their tourist industry is more mainstream. Not that I want to visit those countries ever again, I'm sticking with Italy and France.
That '' Toillet on roids '' U can buy in Romania for around 1000 euros / 1500 $ . How stupid are u people in France to pay for it 40 000 $ ? With 40 000 $ u buy a concrete apartment not a wood toilet :)
Neat concept and the build quality looks great, but I think I'd need just a little more space for a bed on the main level. My arthritis and that ladder wouldn't get along.
I'm going to be critical here: this is just not practical, and it will never catch on; there is no room for items needed for a comfortable life, a family or even privacy. If people wanted this kind of living arrangement, it would already be the norm. You would find something like this in a poverty stricken, shanty town. But, thanks for sharing...
@baddogonline easy doggy, the point of these fine videos kirstendirksen publishes is to get us thinking about the possibilities. If you have a better idea in video I'll subscribe.
@AerAlliance Hehe, I know. That's why I'm subscribed to her. But, I think that often the green community tries so hard to be different that we ignore common sense. For example, restricting peoples' choices, or pushing corn-based gasoline which was a bad idea from start, but once it's put in motion it's difficult to reverse. Just sayin'...
@baddogonline They should fit in great, in the now poverty stricken US. I have seen the tent cities all over the US and this is a better alternative than the way they are living now.
@m036094 "Tent cities all over the US?" The rumors of our death have been greatly exaggerated. ;) If the Canadian media is portraying the USA as having tent cities, then you are being mislead. If your are referring to the tents of the Occupy Protests then you should know that all of those people have homes, & their SEIU Socialist "Movement" has been roundly rejected by the American people. Even homeless people are offered shelters, if they follow the rules & stay off the drugs & alcohol. :)
That's so funny, when I used to upload videos they would ALWAYS be blocked in Germany :D Cool video, I would see myself living in one of those for a year in a forest...

Look up troglodyte homes in France.
Great, but to have tons of soil and rock fall on you during an earthquake, such as luck would have it and all.....
