  • Google in, Flexy mower

  • iv been in this game over 20 years . i can tell you that most outdoor power tools RYOBI make are rubbish and very poor and will not last the test of time . one word .... STIHL .

  • Before buying one of these do a bit of research. I bought one, used it for 20 minutes at the end of 2010 on a 30cc machine, it worked OK but the grass blocked the air inlet so didn't 'hover' until cleared. I cleaned it and the machine and put it away for the winter (5 months - central Portugal) I got it out today and the head fell off, the rubber connector had perished and split in two, releasing the head from the shaft. Totally and utterley useless!!

  • Thanks for the uninformed comments. The flexi mower attachment actually has a metal blade and is manufactured by the American company Ryobi. The attachment works very well and is obviously not for use on prime formal lawns, but for uneven areas. It makes more use of your trimmer - maintain one power head, use for many different applications via the set of different attachments. By using the correct harness means no back pain too. Thanks for looking - we always try something before reviewing.

  • The Flexi Mower has been redesigned and manufactured by a new company.

This youtube video is a very poor indication of its performance and mowermagic should re-do the whole thing, see this link the other link on youtube.

This is a far better demo.

The Flexi Mower has been taken up by TTi and the Ryobi Expand-it range of attachments. Sold now in B & Q stores in the UK. Ask Ryobi when they will be avaliable in your stores.

  • LOL @ the brilliant reinvention of old tool we know can't cut crass as good as a mower. You actually try to sell a string trimmer, for cutting grass?! I have a good slogan for this:

For the man who is tired of cutting grass the simple, conventional way.

Say hello to Flexi Mower and say hello to uneven grass, spending more on fuel and say goodbye to waking up in the morning with no back pain.

Do you call us yanks because you like yanking us around with your dumb inventions & dry humor??? WTF!

  • @AmerIHCan - This was invented in USA.

  • Anyone in the USA know of a person in a marketing role for an out door equipment company I could approach on selling the Flexymo get back to me please, I would be prepared to go into a share aggreement with you.

  • Is this available in the USA? I cannot find a distributor anywhere here.

  • Talon, an Australian firm make these hover mower attachments!

  • The Flexymo was made by Jenn Feng in China for Talon and Ryobi, Husqvarna has bought Jenn Feng's garden division and I have not carried the licence agreement through to Husqvarna. I believe it would out sell there flymo and they would shelve it for that reason. The inventer's and patent holders are from New Zealand

  • @DougPlucker, At thec moment this is only distrubuted in the UK under the Ryobi name.

If you know of a USA manufacture and distributer I would license it to them I own the IP for the Flexymo.

  • How about MTD? Troy-Bilt? Yard Machines? Yard-Man?

Any of these companies could mfr and distribite the product here in the USA.

  • I believe that Jenn Feng the Chinese manufacture did go to them but did not close a deal. I was told that very few flymo type mowers are sold in the USA. I know that if someone has an appartment with a small lawn or a lawn around a pool this mower can do the mowing in very short time. I do about 40sqmts (120Sq Ft) in about 5 mins, I have to do it weekly during the grass growing part of the year but as long as I kkep it down the Flexymo just does it so quickly, I use an Electri trimmer from Ryobi

  • I think it's cool, and i would buy one, but I searched the Internet and all I came up with was UK distributors who would not ship to the USA. The Australian version Talon, its distributors do not ship to the USA either.

If you can find a company that has it and ships to the USA, let me know, I will buy!

  • We did a market survey in 2007 in the USA and got results that it would be the biggest selling attachment in that market. The companies that were approached at the time

Were on a down turn then a recession. Its hard to bring new product into the market when money is tight. I will look at that issue in 2010. I personally have solf a few hundred just to friend, family and their friends, all are still working well after over a year of mowing, I have not seen one break down.

  • Looks like i wont be getting one of those then, I could cut it quicker with a pair a scissors.

  • I agree, the video is poor. The flexi mower does in fact work a lot better than the video shows. We need to re-do it.

  • do expandit attachments fit on other makes of strimmers as well or just Riobi ( i have a Honda strimmer)

  • The Flexymo will fit all split sharf trimmers under the Ryobi name. It can be easily made to fit any brand of split sharft trimmmer in fact.

  • No way a pair of scissors will mow 120 Sq Ft in 5 mins.
