Yeah, those stickers are an insult to everyone's intelligence. Waterslide decals would have been better, but painting would be better. The canopy snap peg looks horrible, so I hear it's best to just paint the canopy opaque. I have two Ateleir Sai Vic Viper models: one Sky Girls and one Gradius III. I have yet to build either one, and I've read that there are tricks to get it to fit better. They tried to go the Ban Dai/Kotobukiya route with the snap build and colored plastic, but they're sub par.
I got one last saturday and it's like you're building a bootleg/china made kit, that's how bad it is! I'm not quite surprised what it turns out actually considering it's price(I got it for 800 philippine pesos). It really requires a modelling skills to make it look good than just a snapbuild which I planned to do from the very start.
SO GLAD you got this Vic Viper!!! I am a massive Nemesis SHUMP fan. hope you can make something of it because I've seen this kit up close and looks absolutely HORRIBLE!!! Materials... molded detail... HIDEOUS!!! Watching on with great interest as I want to know how it can be made awesome. More power to you. You need more subs right? I can help you out there... I'll add you to my channel page recommended list.
@2Old4Toys wow I didn't realize this kit had such a bad reputation! Now that I've assembled it though, I can see why... I didn't have an enormous amount of trouble with the fit except with the armor panels on the tips of the booms and the topside vent/intakes, but yeah, the overall lack of detail and poor plastic quality make me very happy I didn't pay full price for this thing! Anyway thanks for the recommend, I wasn't aware there was such a function!
@facemodels I had the opportunity to pick this up for something like just 6USD but inspecting the box contents made me reconsider even at that price! To think that I was dangerously close to getting original on impulse at full price in a store at the time of its initial release. If you can make it look good, I will search through the bargain bins, but boy, this thing is like a garage kit... No disrespect intended to those guys. I'd have thought the license deserved more quality.

I just got the vic viper too. I love gradius. :D
My only complaint about Atalier Sai's China made kits is that they feel very crude.
