if the brain really creates our consciousness this theory faces some problems:

1. if there is an infinite number of universes (string theory) then my consciousness would be created by brains the exact same out there destroying any possibility of individuality existing

2. if my consciousness is like a software creation of the hardware of my brain then how come my software doesn't seem to change its properties based on hardware changes? consciousness maybe invisible as its in the 11th dimensions

Interesting program, but the underlying paradigm is mechanistic. They believe that consciouness arises from matter. I have to question this, however, and not only because of near death experiences (well documented ones, where despite there being NO electical activity in the brain the subject was fully aware), but also from an innate knowing, validated by meditation experience: there can be no knowing without a mind to know it. Maybe the brain is just the interface between the mind and the body?

Uhh no, you sir are wrong. When you are awake and thinking, you can only access up to 20% of your brain. While when you are sleeping, you have 100% of your brain all working. This is why "dreaming" possibilities are endless. You can fly, you can shoot lasers, and you can jump off a building while still being okay. Possibilities are endless in dreams, this is why when dreaming you think of most of your ideas. If we can access this while awake, the human species would be much more ahead.
