  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hope these 2 never take speed, the playing would be beyond human hearing

  • Comment removed

  • Every you tube vid that has "fast" guitar playing has the same lame comments. Faster ain't always better, just because your fast doesn't mean your good, slow down, blah blah blah blah blah. If your slow ass mind can't process this "fast" playing, maybe you should move on to the next vid, maybe some moon river or cold cold heart.

  • 16 people tried to learn this

  • check out the version of Yakety Axe that "karlsson broberg trio" have done.

  • guy's, you're playing like you'll need to pee.. slowdown man. go to the bathroom before playing..

  • is that tommy emmanuel's dad?? he Really looks like him, and it would explain a Lot

  • @GuitarnPiano Do you mean that guy playing the lead guitar? That's his older brother Phil. Tommy's dad died when Tommy was eleven.

  • Dudes. slow down and make it sound like Yakety Axe

  • This was nice, but the Chet Atkins version is more pleasant to listen to. I'm sure Chet could have sped it up significantly but it would sacrifice the quality.

  • weeeeeeeeena

  • mr.beans

  • @Gilvin ....NO Benny Hill

  • @wurly164 thx man, i'm so dumb...lol

  • Wow this is different from chet great stuff

  • i can't believe how many people are calling this bad....i thought they did a pretty fuckin amazing job, and I doubt anyone who says this is "bad" could play it any better.

  • @JaySFaires You'll find most people calling it bad have been probably playing for a few years only and think that they understand everything about the guitar. I could never imagine a mature guitarist of 20 years not appreciating this performance.

  • @shovelthumbs78 good point. I've played guitar for seven years, and understand a lot, but no where near the level of comprehension that many players are. This is a great performance, and you really can't call this much talent "bad".

  • @JaySFaires Its called an opinion - everyone is allowed to have one. Your opinion of this song is not the "correct "one, neither is mine, or anyone's. It is a failure of logic to demand that no one can have an opinion on something unless "they could do(/have done) any better." Following that logic, you would not be able to review a TV show or film unless you have actually made aTV series or major motion picture, or criticise a novel unless you have had at least one bestseller published, etc etc

  • @vdeferens I very much agree with you. In every way! Did I ever say my opinion was correct? No, I did not. And I never said anybody who said it was bad had a wrong opinion. I DID say that they probably couldn't play it any better, but that's all I said; I never said that their opinion is wrong because they can't play this song better. I can't play this song better or even close to Tommy Emmanuel. So i'm not saying that my opinion is right either. Sorry, I didn't want an argument. Thank you.

  • @JaySFaires Indeed, in retrospect, it appears I misread your comment slightly, as "can't believe that people are calling this bad," which semantically is quite different to what you actually said. I proffer my sincere apologies.

  • Chet Atkins' was half the speed, but twice as awesome.

  • thats just not even right... there are two of them? .,.... two really how in the fuck do two brother both becoming that good at guitar.. just not right

  • So, unless my senses decieve me, they were both playing lead, rhythm, and bass? At the same time?

  • @ 0:08 wow thats fast..

    1:45 OMG THEY'VE GOT FASTER :O

  • this must be a hundred years old

  • A real "mess" of a great tune....try playing it the proper way like Boots or Chet plays it .

Because you're fast doesn't mean you're a good guitarist, with the exception of Joe Pass and Jimmy Bryant their speed was musical and not messy like yours.

  • who is this song originally from?

  • @waitin4winter Its the Theme from Denny Hill show. Its called Yakety Saxe

  • @guike02 i think you mean Benny hill

  • @waitin4winter Its the Theme from Denny Hill show. Its called Yakety Saxe

The Guitar version is from Chet Atkins, called Yakety Axe

  • @guike02 dude its Benny Hill

  • Well its great in its own way i guess

  • Just shut up and enjoy

  • chet akins is much better

  • The video ended mid high five... wtf!! Solid though.

  • If you reckon TM doesn't play with feeling - get to a performance - that is feeling!!

  • How good is this 2 brothers entertaining their audience doing something they clearly love.

  • All this stuff about faster or more expressive or faster is moot...its about enjoying yourself...and these guys love what they do

  • szok pyty!!!

  • the emmanuel brothers are pretty talented i wonder why tommys career blossmed unlike his brothers

  • for this type of music, faster is funnier xD

  • It doesn't matter how many notes you can play, and while it takes skill to play quickly, the best guitarists are the ones who can evoke feelings and emotions from their instruments, like Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and the list could go on for a while....

  • @Diptwankynard hey, don't judge by looking at only one of his music... if you're going to make general statements that are retarded, at least research to back your facts... this man spent his entire life with music so i'm sure he knows music with his heart

  • @chanjongjung Mate, thats just my opinion..... It takes skills far greater than i'll ever have to play like this..... I'm just saying that i'm not such a fan of faster guitar playing i guess

  • @Diptwankynard oh, ok,well if its the style of music you like, i can't argue with that :P

  • Holy Smokes,

    Bog Ron

  • Keeerike!

  • very de puta madre, fantastic

  • was that at the club hotel in bundaberg?

i went and saw that too, the intro was amazing when he played chariots of fire

  • its like they came out of the wombs with guitars in their hands

  • exactly what im sayin man

  • They practically have.. They been playing since the age of 4 and went on the road at the age of 7.

  • im going to see phil perform tomorrow night

  • You must live in Queensland ?Sunshine Coast maybe

  • he's playing in Bundaberg. he is playing in the club hotel

  • I last worked with Phil at the Texas Tavern in Sydney 1969 chee were gettin old

  • Phil breeds snakes they are his first love In his house scary :(

  • Шайтаны однако!))))

  • Fuck these stupid jealous comments - this song is funny and energetic = perfectly suited for this fast tempo.

    Boots would love it !

  • Chet is slower, Pity you didn't hear Tom,

  • arguing on the internet is like running the special olympics, you may win, but in the end your still retarded

  • Nice! Yeah, that's true, haha :p

  • So fuckin funny a comment man - lol

    Mikey x

  • @Codious1000 your vs you're. learn it

  • @Codious1000 and apparently the best comes backs on the internet are plagarised.

  • @Codious1000

yet you managed to spell you're* wrong XD

  • @WizeRetard Greetings my fellow grammar Nazi ;)

  • @rooflee

greetings, glad to hear from you again friend.

  • @Codious1000 yes,,,may be retarded...but you still achieve something more than most people do

    good day sir ;)

  • @Codious1000

be careful with that joke, it's an antique.

and oh the irony of making a joke about being retarded and using the wrong "you're'"

  • @moistpoop81

Picking out this mistake has become the biggest "I r smrter thun yoo" reply on the internet. Can't you just accept that it's become colloquial to say "your". We are on the internet, its all about saving time.

In the interest of saving time: Your a douche-bag, and deserve a good cock punching.

And that's not irony either you knob-rocket. People abuse that word to the point that it can mean anything.

  • @archebus I think you meant you're

  • @cdg03 you fell into my carefully laid trap.

Prepare to be consumed by nothing.

    Tommy Emmanuel rules.

  • @archebus No, you just suck at grammar. And someone made you feel like an idiot. "Saving time" is what the use of acronyms is for. Simply typing the wrong word when you meant type something else is stupidity. AND typing "you're" is already saving time because it's technically "You are". Congratulations, YOU'RE an idiot.

  • @nuanyue I have no words for your stupidity. It defies reason. Also your overly emotional response to my light hearted take on the whole situation can only lead me to conclude you were raped by your English teacher and now have an un-healthy distaste for poor grammar.

    In ?your? face.

  • @archebus Yes! YOU'RE exactly right! How did you know? Was I really that obvious? You must be a psychiatrist or something! Are you Dr. Phil? Just masquerading as a youtube moron? At least what I said makes sense, and in reality (if that's something you deal with on a regular basis) though maybe harsh, is quite a lot less stupid than either of yours. For that matter, it's quite more intelligible ( do you know that word? ) than any of the things you've posted on this forum. Something tells me

  • @nuanyue Generic insults for everyone weeeeheheheayhaha! I love this game.

Deal with reality on a regular basis? What are you even trying to say there hahaha.

    tpeni

  • @archebus Something tells me you're from the deep south and your mother is also your sister.

  • @Codious1000 well thats original...

  • @Codious1000 lol and your winning!

  • @Codious1000 That is possibly the most despicable analogy I've ever seen.

  • @Codious1000 you're*

  • @Codious1000 Well said x)

  • holy flyin fingers! there isn't one brother-brother team that plays the guitars any better than these two... would love to see them together again. HEY TOMMY -- pull Phil's sorry-ass over here from Australia and put him to work in the USA for awhile! :-) PEACE from bigdood in Western Kentucky!

  • They're very good. Regarding the brother-brother comment, check on the Rosenberg Trio ;)

  • Ive seen these two both live in the last month or so. They are amazing individually. but the chemistry between them together is great!

  • nah this is good. if you listen to the normal track then this, its hardly been speed up. Remember this is live.... they make the other one in a studio then speed it up a bit.

  • reading dummies post arguments on Youtube, free....Tommy and Phil, priceless...

  • Well,faster ain't always better

  • agreed. Some notes are missing. A shame. Way too fast

  • WHAT EVER t

  • @rootrebel how true...

  • @rootrebel it is in bed

  • holy %#@% I've never seen any of the YOUNG Tommy. This kicks some serious ass. I just got through watching Chet Atkins play it and clicked on this link. Freakin' WOW!!!!!!!

  • The two best guitarist alive:D

  • just f*cking amazing)

  • sounds better at a slower speed.....just because u speed something up doesn't make it better.......on the other hand still very talented

  • tommy plaing much better like chet. ;) chet was great, but tommy growed master.

  • for some reason i can never imagine tommy young. it's not right! nice, but i prefer Atkins' version.

  • Shame.. they play it together.. harder & faster..I thought Eric Clapton, Mark Knoffler & Jimmy Page were good...these two?...lol

  • Wow this must to have been YEARS ago i've never seen any of Tommy's older stuff - And i like it =D

  • Is the guy playing acrostic Tommy Emmanuel?

  • It's written in both the title as well as in the info.

  • Nah ones playin acoustic is that tommy

  • They're both playing acoustic basically, however Tommy is the one on the natural top Takamine in front.

  • Tommy to the left and Phil to the right that is. Tommy nearly never plays the lead when he's playing with his brother.

  • benny hill

    lol

  • the "bass" notes from 1:02 - 1:03 are amazing :D

  • Its very nice playing, but I like Chet's version better, cause this is too fast for me, but still, exstreme guitar-playing!

  • how old were them

  • They?

  • Chet Atkins should have heard this. That's really playing it.

  • im sure at one point or another he did. i like his version as much as their's, but i have to point out, the one i heard him play was only on 1 guitar hah.

  • great video! what is this show?

I just saw tommy live. EVERY guitar player should see him so they can know how it's done. See him, and you'll know what I mean.

  • Was? Das sind Ossis???

  • too fast... and too gay

  • its perfect the way it is this is the intended speed of the players

if u dont like crap ya

saw phil in bundaberg and just phil alone almost blew my head with amazment

  • Million thanks to the poster. I used to see Tommy & Phil every Sat during the 80's long before I had a video camera, used to tell people about how they played, & no-one would believe it. Thanks a million, they could do anything, night after night. Two of the most talented musicians that ever lived.

  • Gotta tellya, am proud of these Ozzies, must be their abo blood, makes all the difference, as kids they had to play to eat and look how it's turned out.

  • Too fast!! need to slow it down a bit, but well done

  • its perfect the way it is this is the intended see of the player

  • Holy S#!T!! I can listen to these guys all day. Just awsome. Can't wait to see Tommy May-4/08 Toronto Canada.

  • top aussie talent

  • awesome.... really nice to see this family duo =)) and the duo cd is also very nice!!!

my fav. from the cd Town Hall Shuffle... =)

  • Boy...I love listening to this over and over again...Tommy's an amazing guitarist...and a very amazing rhythm guitarist...out of this world...omg...at that speen...so constant, and he gives such a good feel with such good use of the bass...wowza!!! And omg...Phil...wow...what more can be said?

  • Awesome!!!

  • There are so many talented guitarists in the world, but If I had to pick just one guitar player it would be Tommy and Phil ;-))

  • okey guys now play it that fast WITH the lyrics XD

  • Yeah! Did you know that Merle Travis wrote

    the lyrics? He did. :)

  • very good song
