The effect is stunning, but I wish they'd do a bit more research on the sounds. Explosion sounds is always where games mess up. A grenade blowing up beside you somehow sounds like a medium sized bomb blowing up 100 yards away.

It is a custom physics based map using the game engine, it is not pre-rendered cinematic. Yes, the game can look this good, and even better. The only impressive thing here was the physics, and that can be done on much larger scales on other custom maps, where palm trees and rocks in the hundreds are ripped apart and thrown around, then shattered as they strike other objects.

Actually this was created to show off the animation system. It is explained in another video that this is realtime and not using physics, however each of these objects can be physicallized after the animation ends. Awesome tech.

The game makes efficient use of multiple cores. It does lag if I set of 10 nukes at once, with one, no lag. It's an efficient engine.

LoL The creators could probably easily attach gravity flows to the nuke to move out around it etc. The gravity flows DO NOT do the physics! it is like if you give your suit in the game mega super strength or something, it would blow the house away. All gravity flow does is push, the engine does all the physics for the houses etc.
