This movie sucked balls. There was a couple of ok scenes that would be funny if they weren't titled under the Clerks name, but compared to number 1, this movie was for teenage kids.

By all means watch An Evening with Kevin Smith.

He talks about how he made Clerks for himself, and had a vision about making a sequel to finish the NJ adventures.

Agreed Clerks 2 was nowhere near the same as the first one, but it's still pretty damn good.

A solid honest comedy with outrageous dialogue, and a very good story.

they have nothing to do with each other. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was a totally independent film in and of itself. Clerks II is a continuation of Clerks which became a cult classic.  The series of Mall Rats, Jay and Silent Bob and Clerks 2 were all spun from Clerks when it was originally introduced and Kevin Smith ran with it.
