I think though that Sam needed to get w/ Jack so that she knows for sure that she gave it a shot but it didn't work because I think deep down she knows that her and Jack don't work or belong together. Kinda' like Lorelai and Chris in Gilmore Girls. I mean, Martin treats Sam SO much better.
