EVERYONE: both the skeptics and already religious should watch the whole presentation (titled "The Real Star of Bethlehem Parts 1-7"). If you think that religion is fine with just faith and not science, or that science can explain everything without religion, I encourage you to watch the whole thing. Either way, it's a fascinating presentation and everyone can learn from it.
I gave this to my daughter for Christmas. She's an astro-physicist and a Christian. She loved it and is one of those people who give the talks at the observatory.
I'm just staying that most "intelligent" and "knowledgeable " individuals who believe God does not exist struggle with the fact that He might simply because they do not like the idea that they have to answer to someone else ( God ) other then to themselves. Despite all their gained knowledge , achievements and self worth. They are not in control of thier own lives and destiny. And this is called PRIDE. And this, my friends, is what I believe to be the real issue on the acceptance of God.
For pieces of science that need " validating " look up Ben Steins " Expelled " and watch it. Though I must say, I don't think its a matter of scientific facts that will lead you to believe. Believing is a choice . Believing that the God from the Bible exists would mean you would have to accept the fact you are held accountable for you actions while on this earth. Are you ready to accept this fact? Most "intelligent " people aren't. I'm not implying they are bad people...
I knew i was not born on this day neither was my son. what they did is took these celestial events and created real fairy tales added some images and blinded the sheep. it signifies the birth of the christ star, or sirius star. names change as time goes on and those who meddle and work hard to blind the sheep.
sometimes even with computers and other programs you cant track celestial movements, they left one equation out only the creator and the light can bend time and stop time itself to set up whats need to happen. way back when i was under psychoses i found something out that i could stop the earth from rotating but it was not the earth that i was stopping it was everything. one day i focused my energy to stop the spinning. I do it from time to time naturally it just happnes but it threw them off.
Seriously people, if a supernatural interventionist deity exists and has a relationship with living people... where are the miracles? Not, "Oh my cancer went away and the doctors don't know exactly why" miracles. "My arm regrew after praying over it" miracles. Pillars of fire, voices from bushes, magically multiplying meals, etc. Real miracles people. Isn't God supposed to be the same yesterday, today, and forever?
@TacticusPrime.. Really?? A miracle to you is not a miracle to all... "Growing up in a dangerous city and making it out a honorable man" Miracle... "Being boring from a man who killed the first born of my mom 4 years before" Miracle... "Not believing in Religion all my life and come to a point where I felt the holy ghost and now inspire so many after me to achieve" Miracle.... God is the same yesterday today and forever.. His "Miracles" come to those who believes in him.
@anpuakaanubis Nope. Those aren't miracles, just nice things. I've never understood why Christians get away with this rhetorical shift. Plenty of Yahweh's miracles in the OT aren't nice things, aka massacring the first born of Egypt or the Assyrian army. A miracle is a supernatural occurrence, not an unlikely nice thing occurrence.
I'll believe in the existence of a supernatural intervening entity when preachers walk on water, not just dunk people in it.
@TacticusPrime Even Jesus could do no mighty works because of their unbelief. It's still the same today.......so many full of themselves and the things of the world.
@Shekanahh There weren't any skeptics in the crowd when he multiplied the fish and bread? None in front of the tomb when he called Lazarus out? You don't have to believe in science to fly in an airplane or video chat with someone on the other side of the planet. If willingness to believe dictates what feats can be a achieved, then I think you may be deceived.
@Shekanahh If you want to believe in something, then that's your own business. You just can't pretend that there is actually demonstrable evidence for the existence of an intervening supernatural entity.
As a note, if "unbelief" makes Jesus powerless then you've got bigger problems than secular culture.
@TacticusPrime No, not Halley's comet. The presentation goes into much greater detail, but it includes Jupiter, Venus, the star Regulus, the sun, the moon, and their alignments in certain constellations. Each of the guy's points is backed up with the Hebrew calendar, scripture, and non-scriptural historic documents. I've used my own astronomy software, and everything he says checks out. Search "The Real Star of Bethlehem parts 1_7"
@tylerfh2012 Constellations are the meaningless abstractions only fit for idiots like astrologers. Anyway, you can't prove the existence of an intervening supernatural entity by pointing to the movements of stars. Either such an entity is demonstrably acting in the here and now, or it's not.
@TacticusPrime No, that's not entirely true. Constellations are ALSO a way for astronomers (scientists, not astrologers) to divide the sky up into more manageable pieces to aid memory and scientific observation, and it has been that way for thousands of years. "There's a new comet in Leo" is a lot quicker and easier than "There's a new comet at RA = 10:08:22.2, Dec = +11:58:02."
@TacticusPrime But you are right that this video does not prove the existence of any supernatural entity. All it does is show that certain things happened in the sky on certain days in history (and they DID happen when he said they did, I was skeptical and checked on my own software). Are the odds of all this happening by chance high enough that it's all coincidence, or do they require "help"? THAT is what you have to decide for yourself, and THAT is where our opinions differ
@tylerfh2012 Yes, you are free to jump to whatever conclusions you please. The stars look like this, so their must be a god who made the universe in 6 days and who empowers people to do miracles! You just can't pretend that this is anything but ridiculous.
@TacticusPrime I DON'T believe that the universe was made in 6 days and I'm extremely skeptical of the whole idea of modern day miracles (I've never seen one, performed one, or heard about one from anyone I could trust 100%). But the events in these videos (if true) are too unlikely to be coincidence. Stop just repeating that it's wrong and stupid and start doing some research to show us WHY it's wrong and stupid. If he's making up lies, it shouldn't be that hard to find out.
JUST WATCH THIS MOVIE. AMAZING EVIDENCE FOR JESUS CHRIST AS MESSIAH. THE HEAVENS DECLARE HIS GLORY. THE HEAVENS DECLARED HIS BIRTH. THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE AND OF WISDOM. HUMBLE YOURSELVES AS THIS MAN DID. SEEK HIM WHILE YOU CAN. SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND. PEACE
@orocovix11 please don't use all caps. it's the internet equivalent of screaming in the streets, which makes us Christians appear to be whackos. also, don't use the super churchy jargon, non-believers don't get it and it creeps them out. Creeps me out too, honestly, and I grew up in the church my whole life. people won't accept the message if it's in a creepy package. there are better ways of reaching people
@orocovix11 Sorry, I could have phrased that better. I'm not creeped out but when I put myself in the place of an atheist or a skeptic reading it, I think they would be very turned away by it...
@tylerfh2012 I am sorry too that an atheist would see this as a prime example of the reason he doesn't believe. But the Word of God is clear, only the Holy Spirit will convict the heart of an unbeliever, if He so pleases. A prime example in scripture of being "creeped out" would be the verse where Jesus uses His blood to drink and His flesh to eat. Even the disciples had a problem with that. Peace
@pgfracing Stars move.. just like our planet.. and just like our solar system... Nothing stays in the same place forever. Its a vast open space of moving planets.

The Three Kings weren't actual people. They ARE the three stars in the night sky that "point" towards Sirius (Star of Bethlehem) where the sun is born/risen - in the East. Don't you get it?!?
@YnoT0207 Then who is buried in the Tomb of the Magi (Reliquary of the Magi)? How do we know the names (Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar)? There is non-Biblical proof of the Magi (star followers, "magicians", religious leaders, etc.) and Biblical references to the Magi.
I like your poetic view of the stars pointing to the rising sun, but feel it doesn't explain the Biblical/historical anomalies regarding the star "stopping" one night only over Bethlehem, which is explained by this man's work.
Well, duh! This is just the trailer. It's supposed to pique your interest in the actual documentary. Google Star of Bethlehem and Rick Larson. It will take you to his site, which gives you all the information on his DVD. Of course, I prefer the DVD version, but that's because I'm a visual learner.
Then why was Herod surprised when he heard about it? Why did he have to ask when it appeared? Why didn't the Chinese record it? How does a supernova rise in the east, and stop in the south?
Ooh, ooh! I know! It was a "wandering star"--aka a planet. That would explain how it can rise in the east and stop in the south. Jupiter does that all the time. AND...it's the KING planet!
The TRUTH be known...The Messiah, Jesus Christ, was born on Sept. 11th, 3 BC. There are only 3 possibilities...the 9/11/3BC date best correlates with the recorded biblical account. E.W.Bullinger's book "Witness of the Stars" explains this in great depth. The Dec.25th date was an integration my the Romans...Constantine, I believe , to bring pagans & Christie=ans together. ALL THIS INFO IS SOOO AVAILABLE ON THE WEB...GOD bless & Merry CHRIST-mas to all !!
I think Bullinger's book was material based more on Rollin's book "Mazzaroth." Siess also did one called Gospel in the Stars. It gets into the primordial knowledge of the Edenic prophecies as formatted into the zodiac by the Sethites, which the whole world knew before tongues/nations split & the knowledge became distorted yet linked. David mentioned this universal knowledge was known in all languages in Psalm 19, & Paul quotes this when explaining how the world would know their gospel of Christ.
But you're absolutely right, based on the research of the late Ernest L. Martin from early 90s Christ's birthday was September 11, 3 BCE, Rosh Hashanah, Jewish New Year, thematic of newness & birth, traditionally when earth was created (or born when the waters broke) & born again from the flood waters (baptized) on Noah's birthday when he uncovered the ark. Notice the flood came from 40 days of rain; 40 is biblical # for trial & 40 weeks is human gestation. The book can be read free: ASKELMcom
@stop08it Major moves of God lining up with feast dates and "signs" in the heavens. I don't know exactly what it is going to mean only that God has shown up on those dates to fulfill prophecy in the past.
I recorded this documentary. It is exciting, but I still thing that this is NOTHING compared to the Holy Shroud of Turin.
The funny thing is that this protestant found that the "star" stoped over Bethlehem righ on December 25 and then he says he don't believe that Jesus was borne on this date.
And he say he found that this happened 2BC, then he say that he found more stuff on 3-3-33AD, the day of Jesus' death... So if he was right, then Jesus lived more then 33 years.
funny, i noticed he is protestant as well but i found this on ewtn. if it is good enough for gods channel its good enough for me. thx for commenting bruno God bless
The Magi didn't visit Jesus while He was still a baby in a manger. The Bible says that He was a small child, possibly a toddler. Mary and Joseph had been living in Bethlehem for months.
And yes, Jesus lived to be about 35 years old. The Bible says He was ABOUT 30 when He began His ministry, and it RECORDS three Passovers during that time. That doesn't mean there weren't more. Read the last verse of John's gospel.
@AtarahDerek I once heard the same thing in a sermon. (That the Star of Bethlehem did not occur on Jesus's birth, but a couple of years later) To me, it was an extraordinary revelation, which makes perfect sense. In Luke, it says that Joseph went to Jerusalem every year for Passover. Most likely, they stayed in Bethlehem for the night.
EVERYONE: both the skeptics and already religious should watch the whole presentation (titled "The Real Star of Bethlehem Parts 1-7"). If you think that religion is fine with just faith and not science, or that science can explain everything without religion, I encourage you to watch the whole thing. @TacticusPrime It's called FAITH, and faith is what moves the hand of God via our prayers.
The scriptures say without faith it's IMPOSSIBLE to please God.
The scriptures also say that FAITH is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, and the EVIDENCE of things not seen.
Sounds strange to unbelievers but that's the way it works in the spiritual realm.
And yes, even today, Jesus can do no mighty works because of the general unbelief, but when you find a BELIEVING Christian? Miracles!

@stop08it Major moves of God lining up with feast dates and "signs" in the heavens. I don't know exactly what it is going to mean only that God has shown up on those dates to fulfill prophecy in the past.

There is a passage in scripture mentioning the sign of the Christ which will appear in the sky at the appointed end-times. Matt 24:30

It would be logical that this star appears in a cycle... and hence will reappear.

Actually, the date he gives is April 3, 33 AD.
