  • Great version of this song! I always loved Amy and her style. This song brings out some of the best in her too-short career! I miss her voice so much.

    Thanks for the post!

  • Not a voice today that can compete with Amy...This girl was fantastic....RIP Amy...

  • Dear Amy, I know we never met and you weren't always my cup of tea, but hearing this and Rehab and F Me Pumps, I realized what a golden voice you really had. You may have had a lot of personal demons and hurt, but know that you're in a better place now and that your music will live on, this so shall you. I'm glad we can have time together each time that you serenade me with your songs.

    Love Always,

    D

  • NEVER mind to be introduced to her music after her decease.

She needs your interest and care more&more now.

  • Amy Winehouse would be here today, and for many wonderful evenings had she simply been considerate of others. As we overdue self-absorption, we tend toward destructive behaviors. When we seek to bless others, our lives soar to new heights, and then some. Elena House is thinking of you and me. She will fly to where no other singer has yet flown.I know this.

  • Perfection. One day, we'll look back and know that this was the Janis of our generation.

  • Goosepimples, every time I listen to this. Pure excellence.

  • she was so amazing, beautiful .... why no one could help her ?? rest in peace... (ll) all my love for you

  • Does anybody know, who was the one to watch over her??!!

  • @purpledave100 .r u suprised? do u love her yet?

  • You can create too many of existing live singers, including Adele, but NOT ONE AMY. This song is the proof of it. There is NO ONE around to sing it with such richness of soul.

  • we have truly lost someone who deffines what music is all about you will be truly missed Amy R.I.P.

  • Sadly all too often, the STAR which shines twice as BRIGHTLY lasts only half as long. The world seems a little less vibrant without her. She will ALWAYS have a special place in my HEART. - R.I.P. Amy.

  • love Amy always

  • just looking for the song, one of my and many people's old favorites. Amy did great on it, who's the piano player? excellent, blessings, Andy

  • Wow! Hadn't heard much of her music but I just want to say that it's a shame this talented young woman is gone long before her time. Since hearing her version of this song, I will be checking out more from her.......R.I.P. Amy

  • VERY GOOD....VERY GOOD ~ I'M IMPRESSED.

  • Quiet please..our superb Amy is displaying her exceptional talent

  • A beautiful soul, no single friend to relate to, she was such a rare treasure. I feel her heart, ..Aa swan among swine to be sure....and someday we will know her REAL TRUE STORY,KNOW IT...

  • She gives me chills, such a great talent.

  • HERMOSAS FOTOS DE AMY :D ME ENCANTA EL VIDEO

  • shes gone, but her true friends will keep her in there hearts forever,,

  • She´s dead now✝✝✝✝

  • @miavs1999 Your a fucking Fuck

  • @shadowfalls3

where is your heart? shame on your darkness.

  • What a terrible waste of off a Young Life, why could they not have found a young man to show her all the hangers on. yes have few beers but dont wreck your life.

Amy was a great Singer just listen to this track and the one with Tony Bennett

  • @shilo39

Not one true heart like her own to relate to,... a dark place in this world when you are a shining soul among the weak, no wonder she ended so tragically, but no one can deny her beauty and truth.

  • DINAH WASHINGTON :)

  • she was so special and its just too shame that lots of people havent see that. i just love her <3

  • I wish I had paid more attention to her when she was alive. I let her rep put me off. It is such a loss

  • @crazyoldwhiteguy feel the same way... never really discovered her jazz until now and its a shame as she is a very talented individual

  • @crazyoldwhiteguy i totally agree!!! i didnt even know who she was til she died... then i didnt wanna listen to her... the rep.... but i did.. and i love her music... love her voice... what a loss...i'd have to say she's my fav artist at this point. and i'm sorry i let a rep get in the way of seeing the amazing talent that is Amy Winehouse!

  • @crazyoldwhiteguy fair play to you for admitting it. Don't believe what you see in the tabloids. This poor woman was ripped apart by those bastards and the only way she could forget it all plus the heartache she was going through was to get fucked up on booze and drugs. The papers killed amy!

  • Thank you, Amy. Bless you. Was so lovely. Precious

  • incredible

  • makes me cry..:(

  • Others versus Amy..black versus white..night versus day..There is so much a difference..not so difficult to see it.

  • I loved that girl!

  • She channels Dinah and Ella ...vocal bliss

  • I'm a little lamb lost in the woods...

  • She indeed was the real deal. I didn't discover her til recently. I've heard many versions of this tune and love her. What voice, what style!

  • man i miss you

  • amy amy amy

  • i have listened to some of the other renditions of this great song, but in my opinion, she blows them all away. she has a way of doing that with everything she sings.

  • Awww this made me cry...what a great video...thank you. I loved Amy and I will miss her always...she was the real deal

  • il n'y a eu personne pour veiller sur elle !! et éviter cette perte immense !!!!

  • superbe fille !! quel gachis et quelle perte !! chante encore pour moi amy ; tu me manques !!!

  • I did not know she could sing jazz so well. What a wonderful suprize! Her death was a travesty. Most gifted artists' deaths are.

  • listen to the Sting version of this very Haunting

  • You have a daughter..she is talented.. grows up both physically and in performance. Virtually she becomes like 2, 3, 4 daughters and all of a sudden all of them disappear from our world at once. What a grief is this? So hard to describe..

  • ....Rest in peace Doll!! We will always miss you!!

  • genuine and real pics to go with this great song

  • great work!! thanks..

  • No one does this like Roberta Flack in the movie of the same name, and Sting does it as well on same movie, but I can't find the soundtrack or single. Damn, it is my fave song of all time,

  • Such a beauty!! Listening your voice every day & all day long! :/

  • Poor baby. A light too bright for ordinary world.

  • @mercheconway agreed, said well.

  • Beautiful unique woman, truly inspirational

  • I knew nothing of her until she died, but she had great talent, and it's a shame she died that way. From the pics and from her style you would think she lived in another era.

  • Thank You for Who you were to me Amy Winehouse! Rest in Peace...

  • Amy was so amazing she makes you forget that anyone else ever did this song.

  • @sgop30 not tha amazing.... she can't compete with ella fitzgerald. Don't go overboard.

  • I am not an Amy Winehouse fan, far from it, but I think this recording of this song is brilliant, a voice that really does remind me of Ella Fitzgerald. I am always wary of anyone recording songs recorded by Frank Sinatra, being a huge HUGE sinatra fan, but I believe Frank would have approved of this version, and I think he would have recorded with her. Wonderful song. It has inspired me to check out more of Amy.

  • @purpledave100

actually its by George and Ira Gershwin in 1926 but u r spot on with the ella thing - sort of like bille holiday also...

  • I am so sad she's gone......I wish I could have been a superfriend or a wonder twin with powers that could have helped her face down her demons....or something!!! I wanted her to have a long career, but if you think about it she had a great ride in the short time she was around....rest in peace, sweet girl.

  • In the arms of an angel

    Fly away from here

From this dark cold hotel room

And the endlessness that you fear

You are pulled from the wreckage

    Of your silent reverie

You’re in the arms of the angel

May you find some comfort there. RIP sweetheart!

  • wow, there's a few great pics in here I've never seen before. wonderful photo montage and a great classic song that like anything she covered, she breathed new life into it and made it her own. rare recording. thanks again.

  • Gone too soon....we should have loved you more, instead of laughed with you at your pain. You taught us that a cry for help comes in many forms. May God bless you and remove all of your spirit's pain. You are with all the greats now, and I know you are enjoying the best concert of your life! Rest and Live in Peace on the streets of gold...We love you!

  • Love it! Thanks for taking the effort to make this.

  • I only really knew of "Rehab" and realize only after her tragic passing her incredibly wonderful talent. Her style is fine enough to call it a cross between Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. (Something close or comparable to that, anyway.) I cried when she died, but even then, didn't quite appreciate the greatness of her talent/voice. Very sad and unfortunate that Amy, we hardly knew ye...Her jazzy torch singer style is impeccable and amazing; beyond her tender years.

  • I never knew,, Wow

  • Wow!

  • I liked it better when she wore her hair down....it was just gorgeous.... Rest in peace angel

  • Absoutely tragic she just was so good

  • nothing but respect for her voice and music. i've said it before. she made me fall in love with jazz music

  • im shocked I like her versions of some of the classics! I wish she did an album with songs like these

  • this is amazing!

  • Wow, beautiful tasteful photos... her voice is perfect!

  • It was Elton John who wrote Candle in the Wind and I think is is so too bad that many of the very most talented artists like Amy, Dinah, etc. have nothing or no one to protect their flame, and they are blown out too soon .... oh way way too soon. We were rooting for you Amy. RIP.

  • @CanadaLovesUSA nicely said

  • i miss her )':

  • Good God, this girl could sing! Dinah Washington would have smiled...

  • @willmercury Yes.

  • Some say, she had a God given talent and I can not agree to that. If God had given that talent, He should not have taken her away from us. I'm just rebellious.

  • queen

  • Sensational voice.... a G-d given talent... gone way too soon, Amy R.I.P., what a

damn shame..... I could listen to her forever... and I have since she began her

short lived career, NOT now... just because she passed, a tremendous loss to

    the world of Music!!! :(

  • OK...but you better be ready to run! Love this stuff. I dream that someone will find a whole box of cd's with her doing these wonderful songs. Just dreamin', however, I will be listening out. DJ cue this back again....

  • She belongs to the little row of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. She really is one of the biggest jazzsingers. Dear Amy, I have never seen you performing down here nor have I seen a roller-skating watress in the Hawley Arms. Will you welcome me at heavens gate. I promise to protect you against persons attacking you on the internet.

  • Great Song !!! We all need someone to watch over us. Lost my husband 3 days after her death. My best girlfriend 1 week later. I hope they are hanging out together. They were all gifted. Love K

  • @gokayaking1 God Bless You. A Great Spirit You Seem To Have. Here's hoping that your 'sweeter' memories will bring you comfort while 'SomeOne' watches over you. love4oneanother:PEACE

  • @gokayaking1

    Bless your heart.

  • @willmercury Thank you. I really appreciate the kind words. It does help. Thank you again

  • @gokayaking1 sorry for your loss

  • @torchyorchy Thank you for your response. I have good days, bad days, and worse days. But I do listen to Amy EVERYday. Thank you again. love k

  • @gokayaking1 Sorry for your losses - I lost my sister and son 11 days apart last summer. It is harder than anything ever.

  • @carell5 Thank you for your condolences.I can not even imagine your sorrow.I am so sorry. If you need help thru holidays send message. Maybe we can get past you tube. Prayers and thoughts, luv k

  • She was gorgeous before drugs!

  • oops, almost forgot Amy's favorite; Sarah V.

  • WOW!! Bessie-Ella-Billie-Dinah...Amy. When I go, if God can't get me my TICKETS to that show-I'm sneekin' in!!

  • @MrKenndawg Tell me when you are going, I will be coming with you!

  • FANTASTIC !! ...Thanx for all these beautiful Pix ♥

  • She was the real deal. And they don't come along much very often, especially now days.

  • @HoustonKeith72 i wish that people would say she is the "real deal" as an artist.... her true life (as a messed up drug addict) should not be glorified! sorry, i would not want my children idolizing amy winehouse :(

  • Amy was the best ever.. i`ll always like her....

  • She's better than Adele. But in comparison, Adele, with no supervision. No one to care when she fell of the rails. Beautiful talent. Beautiful girl. Photos before her downfall are heartbreaking. She would have been a freakin' legend.

  • @devon1975 She was and will stay ALWAYS as boss of Adele..No doubt.

  • @OTBASAR

    no doubt.

  • Miss You Beautiful!!! Died To Young!!!!!

  • Nice to hear the verse being sung - doesn't happen often but now that we have this classic recording it doesn't matter coz Amy sings it like it was written with her in mind.... God Bless, Amy .... R.I.P.....xxx

  • Billie Billie Billie.xx

  • and she sings the verse, a lost art!

  • What an angelic voice. RIP Amy

  • Sweet dreams Amy, now you can watch over us. You will forever be remembered

  • Je l'adore graveeeeeee!!!!!!!!!FOREVER AMY

  • Such heart, such beauty, so bittersweet. This is singing at it's finest. Amy's thin catalogue is offset by the sensational quality of her work and her surreal multiple talents. One of the greatest artists in history.

  • Its nice to be nice <3

  • Comment removed

  • Oh so'ooooooooooo over rated! Subo's gonna kick her ass!

  • "When did you last cry?"

"On hearing Amy Winehouse singing Someone To Watch Over Me."

    Enough said.

  • @ivorlottandtonybroke Beautiful me too ! <3

  • Oh my this is absolutely brilliant. No need to invoke Lady Day -- I mean this stands on it's own, holds it own, with _anyone_ ... this is great singing.

  • Best way to listen to Amy is to just listen. Pretend you're blind and all you know is her sound and breath.

  • junky fuck

  • beautiful.rip amy

  • Reminds me of Billie Holliday. What a great loss.

  • @TheKimdunn Well, not exactly...Lady Day is on another level musically speaking, you know she was 'just' on heroin and pot at most, but she has always been a respectable woman.Back then it was normal to be a jazz hippy, jezebel swinger you know. Amy had a talent, but sadly she was just a junkie who thought drugs will improve her as an artist, or worse she couldn't carry the weight of success...

  • @alexjrmarino Her phrasing reminds me of Ms.Holliday.If you listen without looking at Amy's picture you can picture Ms.H before she really hit bottom. And I mean that as a true compliment.

  • Thanks for the AWESOME pictures ! These pictures are how she should be remembered ! As a kind person who had a good life and not just the heartbreak she went through, great job !!!

  • I wish Amy Winehouse never took those drugs.

  • dis is the first time i've heard amy sing this and i turely enjoyed it. A beautiful young girl with an old and wise head on her shoulders

  • @geraldineger Wouldent exactly agree with "wise" considering the choces she made in life. But an amazing artist... now that's an understatement for her

  • @JayBoogie950 if not "wise" then maybe the word you're looking for is "knowing". I think geraldinger was expressing that Amy was an old soul. I agree with both of you.

  • RIP...Amy...such a nice song :)

  • I love U Amy...

  • Love you Amy Jade!...

  • poor girl.

  • She totally rocks this classic song. I miss her so much. Another great talent taken from us way too soon.

  • What a voice! Thank you for sharing a picture of Amy smiling. So troubled, if only someone could have helped her.

  • great-----too bad she had too take fuckin drugs

  • what a voice.... so sad

  • Sweet voice. This is my favorite rendition of this song.

  • Really cool but not even in the same league as Ella, who did the best rendition of this song

  • I would have liked her if she did more standards like this. Her voice suited jazz better than it suited pop music.

Sucks that she died though I suppose...

  • Thanks, fascinatedgirl, for this class post! Love it:)

Amy Winehouse = beauty and magic! Bar none. The proof's in the video...and her rendition of this classic jazz song. RIP

  • who lives in a pineapple under a tree?

  • OMG! Great montage. I love this song so much. She was such a beautiful soul.

  • this rendition is nothing short of brilliant....what was she, like 21 when she recorded it? Her jazz phrasing was just remarkable, and any listen to FRANK underscores this.... her songwriting wouldnt mature til Back To Black and when the two elements together it was just magic.... til the addictions came and took it all away from her....and us.

  • ‹¦[♥]¦› GONE NOT FORGOTTEN ‹¦[♥]¦› Some one is already watching over you Amy. He was ready for you long ago. Only the good die young. Rest in peace honey.

  • As a vocalist, she had style. Great voice, great phrasing, great personality came through especially for me in the stuff before Back to Black. So sad for her family, and us.

  • Adele? 0:59

  • @Mr123Gibson I think that's Kelly Osbourne. Kelly considered her a best friend. Kelly's lost quite a lot of weight since that picture.

  • @Mr123Gibson hell no.

  • I love the quality of her voice. she has that jazzy bluesy voice that sounds amazing

  • Beautiful... *sigh*

  • I feel bad for those who only knew her through her troubles.

Perfect case in point: Radio Dipshit Deluxe Bubba The Love Sponge does commentaries several times a week for the Tampa Bay 10 TV News channel (who must be as desperate for attention as he). In his commentary after Winehouse's death, he said, point blank, "You know what? I'm GLAD she's dead!" and went on from there to try to justify his comments. What an asshole. Shows you where 10 News' taste is too, doesn't it? How pathetic!

  • te voy a extrañarr muchisimoo amyy no tenes una idea como me dejo tu muerte..solo espero q estes felizzz

  • We can all point figers as to blame but the sad fact is Amy is not comming back, my belief is that loving Blake was her greatest downfall the love she had for him made her weak hence the drinking , drugs, the fights verbal and physical its sad when you see some one with an extrodinary gift and emotions right or wrong get in the way I thank God for you Amy, May He Give you Rest.

    :'(

  • @CrAzYNBeautiful65 Everything with her was limitless. Talent at extremity, emotions, sensations, love..all the same. But unfortunately addiction to drugs and alcohol was also at extreme level. I have never seen pluses without any minus. Those negative effects were to be handled by the people around her, which were not managed professionally by them. As a foreigner, I can easily say, people there are not aware yet, that they have lost the best ever music artist UK has every produced. It is so sad

  • I listened to Amy before her death ,since her death I cant help but want to learn more and more about her , this much I do know , she was and is loved, her father is an icon to her her mother was aware of what would come and was given a priceless gift of spending a day with her before her death and was told " I Love You Mum" A man that loved her enough to ask her to marry him and create a new happy healthy life together A manager that said it is most important you take care of you, Its all RARE

  • Ditto Nickyc990... I can't stop crying, I can't stop listening, and I am so angry !! I know she was loved, but it's hard to believe that she couldn't be helped. Her talent was rare, it was beautiful, and won't easily be replaced. She was a gift many won't realize we had in our present.

  • I cherish this recording, which in itself is enough to demonstrate the enormous talent of Amy Winehouse. What a terribly sad loss.

  • @jesuisjamaiscontent truly amazing talent , i think she had emotional problems judging form her songs

  • Thanks a million!!! Merci Gracias Danke Grazie en ONWIJS BEDANKT!!!!! Like like like!!!!

  • Thanks for posting this. What a fitting tribute to my most favorite diva.

  • Truley brilliant, talented and a lovely women, ahe had a demons but was a lovely girl under it all! her music has inspired many! miss you! R.I.P you are now at peace <3

  • judge not
