& when spike realized he was doing more damage to buff by loving her w/o a soul he knew what he had to do. he fought for his soul, something that angelus would never do. angelus would kill her in a heartbeat. also when angel lost his soul the first time, he wanted to kill buffy even though he still knew her so CANT love her w/o his soul. she gets the entire package w/ spike.

i think a lot of ppl like the dramatic part of the bangel ship but spike is there for more than cuddling

I always was Buffy/Spike fan. Their relationship was very complex, but very interesting to see. And I think in the 7th season Buffy achieved with Spike the closeness she never really had with Angel.

I am usually ok with Angel, but Spike was right saying once that "Angel is dull as table lamp". There were no real spark between Buffy and Angel. They look more like good friend, while Buffy and Spike look like lovers.
