  • just cruel for any bird to be in captivity all birds should be free like us humans and not to be used for our entertainment..SO CRUEL TRY LOCKING YOURSELF IN A CAGE SEE HOW YOU LIKE IT!!!!

  • You're a real inspiration to me for rescuing & raising Kaleo to be healthy and content like this :). I love all of his videos, they make me so happy. Hopefully someday I can help sick birds and animals too.

  • This is delightful.

  • My mynah bird, Sparky was killed today by my cats. He was only 6 months old and he never talked. He loved baths, just like Kaleo. I wish I had decided not to buy my bird because then he would be alive. He was so sweet. Never trust birds with other animals, no matter how careful you are being.

  • This bird is amazing! And love watching the owner interact with this bird!

  • the owner is gorgeous!

  • Too cute...

  • 2:45 Can you talk. I can talk, can you fly? :)

  • Haha! You can't fly, dog!

  • @culwin Oh yes I can:-)

  • Jesus, I had no idea mynahs could talk! I see and hear them all the time in my garden and am always amused by their vocal range.

  • @M4K3V13W Extremely intelligent birds but meant to be enjoyed in the wild:-)

  • The bird is cool and you are a hottie!

  • teach it 'the power of the daaaAAAAHK-sideeeee'

  • Holy shit ! The bird says pusyy pusssy pussy pussy!

  • @aTime4UandMe Nice try but he is actually saying the danish word tosset, tosset, tosset which means crazy

  • At 3:01 she gets so annoyed at kaleo saying good dog!

  • 0.08 ( Pussy Pussy Pussy Pussy)

  • I have two very sweet Mynah birds I found in a awning of a horse truck at a horse show they are so cute!

  • What a sweetie!!! He's a much better talker than my parrot. :-D

  • the dog say good dog good dog... Lol

  • @fjc0071 All Mynahs puff up and nod when they talk and I believe are content

  • When he says good dog its like a robot!!!! XD

  • Haha, I must have one

  • oohhhh i love how he says "Bubble Bath" :D

  • aw this reminds me of the mynah bird i had when i was 5. that was nearly 15 yrs ago. this video makes me smile :)

  • @yadahmean Im glad this made you smile

  • @robinaboy Ive heard this and saddened by it. Kaleo is wonderful and intelligent bird. He was a rescue that could not be released due to a bad leg

  • love 2:10-2:12 - Are you smart? 'I can taAAAAAAHHLK'

  • This still makes me smile whenever I watch it.

  • That's the longest time I have ever seen a Mynah bird go without pooping.

  • I luv that bird

  • you resemble Joanna Kerns... cute bird.

  • awwww so cuteee <3

  • sounds like exorcist. scary!!!!!

  • This little bird has brought me joy for ages! If I'm having a crappy day I just watch this little guy. Thank you!

  • @troublemakermarie

My sentiments exactly, that's exactly what I do!

  • birds should not be held captive as a pet. you should leave them alone when they are leaving the nest. it is quite normal for them to be sitting on the ground with the parents nearby.

  • @ilferrari I absolutely agree with you, except that it is not safe to let them on the ground when there are cats or dogs snakes or other wild animals around. After that I consulted a wild animal welfare they asked me to put the baby blackbird in a basket or old cage with soft paper in it, and cut the top of it and hang it on a tree near the nest.It was amazing, Mother came and guided the bird back to the nest.

  • @ilferrari I agree with you completely. I help rescued birds for release. Kaleo was @3 days old, cool and almost dead when found at dusk one evening..he was not a fledgling (learning to fly) as you are talking about. The parents were nowhere around & nest too high to reach. He would have died. Later discovered he could not be released due to a bad leg. I do not want these videos to encourage people to own a wild bird or interfere with nature, yet there are times they do need help

  • i love Kaleo's laugh he sounds like a mad scientist

  • @cmhhawaii I want to commend you on your commitment to Kaleo. He wouldn't return if he wasn't happy with your company. Kudos to you. He's a wonderful and intelligent bird.

  • @MrGypsy910 Thank you for your post. He is a huge commitment but despite of the circumstance of being an unreleasable rescue he is very loved and happy I believe.

  • how precious! That is one cute bird! Do you still have him / her? I see the video was posted in 2008

  • @swann62 Yes Kaleo is now 5 1/2 and very happy and healthy. I'm trying to get time to post more videos

  • and i dont put it in a cage it flies around my house and when i want it to come it comes and talks i give it food it bring lots of other mynas which want food i give it to them 2

  • @Theafgstar1 Kaleo is free to fly as well. Thanks for sharing your story

  • @cmhhawaii welcome

  • i have a myna in afghanistan they were in afghanistan pakistan and especially in india they are very intelligent 4th best talkers in the world after amazons african greys and macaws

  • whats a doggie says wolf wolf very funny

  • wtf ? those damn things can talk?

  • i love the thing he dose with his head when he said talk

  • easier to get a bird to say these things than a man.

  • @confettistar Haha great comment

  • :L Ithought birds just repeated the sounds they hear but now I know different coz of 2:10 when she asked are you smart and the bird says i can talk sooo cute makes me want a bird

  • r2d2 bird!

  • zilzaa your a dumb ass, that bird is cute

  • if u ask me, that bird is a dumb ass. the doggy says good dog. lmao hahahhahahhahahhaha

  • that is possibly one of the most coool things i have seen in a long time, way to go on rescuing this amazing bird

i love when he asks "i can talk can you fly?"

    absolutly amazing

  • "Wanna take a bubbo bash?" I LOVE THAT BIRD!!!

  • where are you living ? Philippines ? Thailand ? I like your bamboo couch

  • what'cha think

  • Are there any Myna bids in Taiwan? I would really love to be able to see one,(i'll be visiting there)

  • One of the cutest things ever on Youtube!

  • cute

  • This show's what a good trainer can do with these amazing birds. This is the best example of what a Mynah and a smart and very dedicated owner can do. The conversational quality of this video is AMAZING. My favorite is when you ask Kaleo what a puddy says and he says meow. Not just repeating but clearly aware of the concretes around him and there names. Truly awesome.

  • the "Rainman" bird

  • I absolutely LOVE your videos! Kaleo is amazing -3 The bond you share is so evident and so beautiful. You're very lucky to have each other! Thank you for rescuing him and also for posting these amazing videos!

  • TRANSFORMER BIRD

  • XD!!! your so kkkute!

  • this is really adorable ! how did u teach him how to speak ? and how long did it take ?

  • "you want take a bubble bath" i love it!

  • we have so manny of them now in israel..

  • eeeeeeeeeee so cute eheheheh bubul baf bubububaaaaaaaaaw!

  • I adore watching Kaleo and the other talking birds on this site. I had talking parakeets and cockatiels when I was younger but now being post-liver transplant I am unable to own birds. So I get my joy from them by watching videos of them. Thank you for sharing this smart, beautiful girl with us.

  • God's Creation's are amazing. I think we have a lot to learn yet about what they're capable of. I just heard there are dogs able to sniff-out if, and where, a person has cancer growing inside their body. Animals are a gift from our Creator to bring joy into our lives. We should teach are children from infancy to respect them.

  • These birds are everywhere in australia

  • @XxBitolaxX Are you sure its not the kea birds you're referring to? They are very common in australia. Considered to be among the smartest birds in the planet... and a serious pain in the butt for local citizens.

  • @cosmegonzalez Kea are large parrots found only in New Zealand.

Common or Indian Mynas are considered an invasive pest in Australia.

  • WOW! Sorry but I was very surprised when it said what does a dog say and it said woof woof. That's amazing.

  • Very good

  • Cute!! Should teach out mynah to talk like that

  • That is so very awesome and creepy.

  • why bother with a mina when you could teach a jackdaw to speak?

  • Marvelous bird!Very easy to teach,as well as the medium size parrots.LOVE It! (=

  • wow hes so funny:)

  • You can't really tell if the bird is talking or if it's a person's voice.

  • He's right, she is cute

  • That is amazing. Very cute bird.

  • Amazing! In Saudi Arabia I see Mynah birds flying everywhere but never realized they are capable of talking!!!!!!!

  • love that laugh at the end. your so cute. yes, they are a big commitment. your so kind to take him in.

  • I remember a talking Mynah bird at the entrance to a zoo we visited in 1964 (and I don't remember which zoo, but it was either Detroit, Philadelphia, or St Louis). My brother and sister and were having such a blast with that bird that our mother had to come back and drag us away. Otherwise I believe we would have spent the entire time at the zoo there.

  • what a wonderful testament to love! They are such amazing Gifts from God!,and I admire your absolute respect for this little character!-It's a very unselfish love you give Kaleo!- I see you are an exceptional person!. Freddy and I, just adored Toop Toop, our Common Indian Mynah of 10 yrs,11mths.-but you're something else!- Thank You!

  • you so cutttttttttttte xD

  • This is amazing! He is clearly loved ! and so are you!!! What a great video. You have done an amazing job with this little guy. I have two large parrots and one of them talks pretty good too. It's so entertaining! Thank you for taking such good care of one of god's little creatures. Birds are awesome! so are you...:)

  • I didn't know those kind of mynahs could talk. Wow, you'd think they would be singing Hawaiian music if they hang out in a tree near someone's house. This bird seemed to understand you.

  • cool

  • Had some work done on our roof and dislodged 3 baby indian mynas...2 didn't make it but we still have Hari. Have been hand feeding him but has just started eating for himself and doesn't like to be handled anymore. Have him in a cage by the window where he can see other mynas but want to keep him as a pet, should he be kept from seeing other birds if I want him to talk and be a pet? What do you feed him and do you clip his wings and let him run around the house? any info. would be appreciated.

  • I think your bird is fantastic, and also think YOU are a fantastic woman...

  • In Australia they're pests. I had no idea they could mimic people so well.

  • Fantastic!

  • Kaleo is absolutely amazing! And your love for him so very evident! I could listen to him saying "bubble baash" all day!! Thanks for sharing this precious creature! I have parrots and know how they steal your heart!!

  • i was down in the dumps lately but this really cheered me up.

  • I find it amazing... but what touched me is the relationship between the two of you and obviously, your family! Beautiful video!

  • Aloha! What a wonderful bird he is, and how lucky you are to have such a wonderful boy. I'm also in Hawaii, and have been actively searching for a tame Mynah for some time now. Such an intelligent breed, with a wide range of vocalizations. I even love the screeching sound they make in the morning, one of my favorite things about living here. :)

  • haha nice i hope the one we found lives long enough to teach this kinda stuff to

  • My favorite: "Y'wan' take a bup-up baash?" (Even she had to smile.)

  • Hi

That a nice bird I had one and he died. he was so sweet just like the one that you have. i used to get out with him and he would fly for a bit and come back. i missed him so much.

    say hi to your bird

  • I was told that mynah birds were a protected species and not allowed as pets anymore... In the uk at least. Is this true? (This isnt a criticism by the way! I think Kaleo looks very happy and healthy!)

  • This is correct, it is illegal to own or transport them.. I rescued Kaleo off the ground and was unable to put him back in the nest. I didn't know what I was in for. While he has chosen to come back after being set free twice I caution anyone who sees these videos to not think they are easy to have as pets.I believe birds are best to be free whenever possible.. Kaleo is wonderful but a huge commitment.

  • @cmhhawaii

Surprised that this common mynah is protected. it is the Hill Mynah that is closed to extinction.

The common mynah is abundant in Asia but hunted down in Australia.

I have owned both types of mynahs and both are equally sociable and close to humans, they mainly differ in diet, the hill mynahs love fruit whereas the common ones eat mainly grain.

  • @cmhhawaii I am SO glad Mynahs are not allowed as pets anymore..I remember seeing Mynahs bored out of their minds and going loopy in pet shops, and this bird of yours does get a lot of attention and freedom, and lots of people just would not be able to give a bird that level of commitment.

  • @Oakleaf700 I couldn't agree with you more... it breaks my heart to see any bird locked in a lonely forgotten cage!! Kaleo was a rescue that could not be released due to a bad leg. He has lots of freedom, love and attention. The last thing I want my videos to do is encourage anyone to have one to keep in a cage. They are illegal to own and a HUGE commitment.

  • @Oakleaf700 They're also an invasive species and kill many native birds and their chicks.

  • That is incorrect.

It is only illegal to IMPORT them. Some are endangered in their original country (Burma, Sumatra, India etc.)

Breeding or having one as pet in the USA is OK since they are considered EXOTIC birds here.

  • @xshineythingsx PROTECTED SPIECES?! mynah's are the most common bird in my country :) they look kinda like kaleo but never ever speaks

  • I love these videos soooooooo much I wish you would make more! If I'm having a bad day they make me very happy!

  • I miss my mynah!

  • awwwww he sounds so cute when he sounds like a cat! I have a mynah but he's not so smart lol =]

  • so cute!!! haha! love u both :-)

  • Oh this is just lovely thank you. Never heard a bird say "bubble bath" before...too cute : -)

  • amazing!

  • this is amazing! btw you seriously resemble somebody I know! It's frightening.

  • He is so adorable! They are also VERY intelligent! When I was a teenager I knew an elderly man that had one. He could not get it to say one bicycle. He always said two bicycles, the man figured it was because it had two wheels! LOL Kaleo is gorgeous!! What a privilege it must be to have him!

  • Love this and favourited. Thanks for sharing.

  • are u the lady who works at UH near Biomed?

  • Call jack!

"JACK! JACK! JACK! JACK! JACK! JACK JACK JACK! MEOW! Whats the doggy say? woof woof woof woof.Whats the puddy say? Meoww!

  • I love you, but I just dont trust you.

  • My brother said there used to be a mynah in an old department store in new Orleans. He used to say, "Mommyyyyyyyy!" because of all the kids who got lost. Then they'd cry because they thought the bird was making fun of them. lol

  • man every time i watch this video, it makes me really want to get a myna chick asap.

i have a few parrots and just got a crow recently (which i sadly have to give away ;@) so i dunno; it might feel crowded. can you tell me what they're like? i mostly hear they're not very clean but i doubt that's true. thanks! <3

  • I canhear the birds in the background,I guess they are in Hawaii,I was there in May 9th.That is one heck of a Mynah bird.I guess she had it since it was a baby.I love to have one.I surely miss Hawaii,I want to go back.

  • HOW FUNNY! A MYNAH BIRD WITH A LISP! WHAT DOYA KNOW! HOW CUTE

  • - Are you smart?

    - I can talk.

I would love to have one.

But I think it´s gonna feel kinda spooky to have a bord that can say things so well.

    Cute bird =)

  • GREAT!!

  • cmhhawaii I sent you a message. The seniors where I work as activity coordinator are learning about the Internet and how much the can learn and even travel around the world from their seat but they think your conversation is the best they have seen so far and coulnd't stop wanting to see your mynah over again. Thank you for making them smile and laugh today.

  • Actually its more like I want to wear glasses around him because he pecked my eye one time..perhaps because he saw a glimmer...His beak may not take a finger off but since he likes shiny things I'd rather be safe than sorry.

  • Great video, my kids and I got great enjoyment out of watching it (and the others you posted). I was wondering why you don't want to wear your glasses on your head with your birdie close by.

  • This is adorable! Fabulous training.

  • no i buy him in the petshop,he is only 2weeks old when i buy him.sometimes i put him on the cage everytime i go to work...ii feel he is sad everytime i put him in the cage.hope he will talk soon.....thank you for the tip on how to take care my little martin.once i heared him talk you will be the first one to know it.

  • Dennis it is NOT true you have to cut their tongue. That is an old wives tale and so wrong. Kaleo did not talk until 6 months or older. I would talk to him from a baby and repeat phrases over and over. He is loved and one of our family.. we do not keep him caged all the time. Mynas are highly intelligent and sensitive creatures... love him..talk to him everyday and don't just leave him stuck in a cage all the time... Did you rescue him?

  • @cmhhawaii I was fascinated by mynah when I was a child. I bought an Indian mynah when I was like 7 or 8 yr old by shelling out pocket money. The guy who sold the bird told me that he did cut the tongue. As a child I believed what was told as it was the procedure to make a mynah talk, unlike parrots talking naturally. I think I litterally tortured this bird in the attempt to make her talk during my play hours and donno what caused it, but found it dead in the cage in one fine morning. sad:(

  • @cmhhawaii i have baby mynah.. ithink he is 3 months old.. he is trying to pick his food all by himsefl.. sometime i heard him talking but i cant understand what he is saying.. is this a good sign? he loves music so much..

  • @cmhhawaii i have a baby mynah i think he is 3 months old.. i played music and everytime he heard music he started to say something.. but i dont understand what he is talking about.. is this a good sign...

  • @cmhhawaii i have a 3 months old myna ..i played music everyday and evrytime he heard music he starts to say things that i dont understand.. is this a good sign?

  • @cmhhawaii Yes, the tongue-cutting myth is strange, very old, and completely wrong. Eating chili pepper is also a total myth. They are smart, loving, and only need friendship & interaction to talk. The same goes for parrots and other speaking birds.

  • how did you train kaleo to talk?old folks said it needs to cut his tounge so that it can talk?is true?i ask this question because i have 1 month old myna here and i really want him to talk...can you give me some tips?thank you

  • I've watched this hundreds of times and it never gets old

  • How did u teach him to say all this? I wish mine could talk but he is totally neurotic and can only make cat noises.

  • Sounds like Rainman.

  • Wow he almost sounds like a tape recorder sometimes

  • Amazing!
