check at 1:02, the third motor moves half a rotation, this is the Z axis that is controlling the elevation of the bit. When it's floating above the workpiece, the bit doesn't have to be in the material...
@gabzramires Because you might want to pull the router out of the matterial when, for instance, drilling holes, or in this case when milling out a PCB, not tearing up the copper when you're starting.
