I love this song more than I can put into words. Brecht's lyrics are so timeless - ein Vorrat, der nie zu ende geht! :-) And Weill's music speaks to my soul. Marvellous. Although this is really a woman's song, it works well for a man too. I sing it under the shower all the time :-)
thank you, I originally changed the lyrics for a man but hey, who could change Brecht? so I sang it in the original lyrics, Gisela May sings it too in different melody.
Stimmt, eines der wundervollsten Lieder. Als Bariton habe ich mich auch schon daran versucht. Ich muss aber eingestehen, dass ein Mann diesen Pathos in diesem speziellen Lied nie singen kann.
