c'mon this is quite a good version. this is not an easy song to pull off live. you try doing it. i don't know if I exactly get the decemberists shtick but they are smart and cool enough to try this.  honestly, you try pulling this or like I am the Walrus live

The friend who shared this with me is an ELO purist and mocked it horribly--I'm pleasantly surprised however at this fun and probably unexpected concert treat. I would have preferred it though if they'd put more of a Decemberists twist than stick so close to source. The last tour they used My Brightest Diamond's frontwoman for Yankee Bayonet and she did the same thing, rendering the song less than it could have been. Good capture.

They aren't *huge*, but they're semi-well known. The were recognized on The Colbert Report, which has a pretty large fan base.
