  • Haha seat belt light.

  • he has it modified, dont let this video fool you

  • My 1.8L LSi burns tons of oil. Ring Tensions and Oil Control rings are shot on mine.

  • I've taken shits that weigh more than my geo. But it is still pathetically under powered with 100 horse power. And the 3 speed automatic does it no favors. God I can't wait to graduate and buy a new car...

  • ohh shyt !!!!!!!!! nice !!!!!!!!!!

  • Damn!! Going 80 in 2nd gear lol

  • FOR ALL OF THE FUCKING LOSER MORONS THAT TALK SHIT ABOUT OTHER PPLS CARS AND U PROBLY DONT EVEN HAVE ONE AND IF U DO MOMMY AND DADDY GOT IT FOR U AND THER PAYING THE NOTES GO FUCKS YOURSELVES BECAUSE THAT LIL GEO WAS NOT MENT FOR SPEED ITS GOT 1OO HP AND THAT WAS FUCKING FAST WATCH THE TAPE AGAIN HE DID O-60 IN 8 SECOND IT HITS AT 11SEC BUT HE DIDNT HIT IT UNTIL 3 SEC SO DO THE MATH A SILVERADO WITH 295 HP GO'S ABOUT 9 SEC 0- 60 SOME V6 CARS DONT EVEN GO THAT FAST AS THIS CAR DID

  • pussy! does any body drive over 100 mph god dam i have a 1994 black geo prizm with 180k i max it out at 113.6 i checked with my garmin wtf everbody to afarid to go fast like ppl on high ways thell drive slow but when u pass em they finally wana go sum were but when im at 100 they pussy out thumbs up if u have enough nerve to go over 100

  • ha, the no seat belt light is on. tisk tisk...

  • @stringguynotfungi Yeah, the seat belt light on our '96 Prizm 202k flickers on from time to time--it's talking to me that's all-it's a character thing.

  • Don't know about slow.. If I had a go kart that fast I'd be in heaven! (and that's without crashing it)

  • @TimpBizkit the go kart i had a couple years ago was this fast.. and a liiiiittle faster. yamaha 250 dirtbike engine.. (; haha

  • not bad., i had a 79 mercury capri with a 2.8 auto an 250k miles an it would go realy fuckin fast.til it blew up.lol

  • dude, i have the same car, sounds just like mine whenever i floor it :D

  • so much for only 100 horsepower lol. engine sounds rly badass too. right under the 240k mile mark. jus dont crash

  • was the engine built by isuzu?

  • seriously? you did not ask that question.... it's a Toyota with chevy badges on it. It's got a Toyota motor.

  • @hondaman072 no but my 91 geo storm has a Isuzu built engine and chevy/geo badges

  • geos are durable. Mine has 230k right now and still drives great

  • put a 4age in,and you should wear your seatbelt also.

  • Somebody knows how to drive an automatic right, most idiots don't redline it.

  • you cant redline an automatic

  • Yes you can, it's not hard to do. Many of the original Saturns (1991-2002 S-series) equipped with the twin cam engines came with a performance package that made the engine go all the way to redline before it changes gears.

Sorry, I know a Saturn hasn't a damn thing to do with a Geo other than they're owned by the same company, but I mention it to sort of prove my point.

  • hahahhahahahahhahaha

  • that was actually pretty fast for a car with 100 horsepower

  • yeah, prizms are light as hell.

  • i know, my dad had one and i loved it personally.

lasted 175,000 and actually for being so light it did great in the snow

  • its not that slow

  • Damn that things hauls ass!

  • the car has 234,000+ miles on it, original motor and trans

  • i got a 3 speed 94 Geo Prizm that i race. i do stock car racing & the only cars that were touchin me was a Toyota Celica and an AWD Subaru Legacy. All i have done to it was gut the car, put in high mileage % High perforance oil, put in super unleaded gas and called it good. came in 11th out of 110 cars in a 100 lap race. was running top 4 when i got spun by the AWD Legacy, I had been running in 2nd gear and the car was REALLY hot, had to wait a few mins for it to cool off then went again.

  • oil cooler and a bigger radiator. Then call it good :) wish i had a car to beat on :(

  • not realy a "beater" its a stock car that otherwise was going to end up in a crusher

  • Damn my Geo barely goes to 90 lol 1990 muscle and got it for a mere 900 bucks!!

  • SLOW? No fucking shit fuckbag! They were made for reliability, you want speed? Get a Nissan GT-R!

  • I will say Its good acceleration for a 240K miles on a 4 cylinder car. And your Automatic trans is srtong!!! No slipping. these cars are slow but they are inexpensive and they are reliable as hell. parts are interchangeable with the corolla so you find parts in the yunk yard for sure.

  • automatic. there's ur problem

  • i have a 94 prizm lsi with a intake and performance exhaust this prizm is nothing

  • why?

  • holy shit thats fast lol j.k j.k but atleast mines dont pass 45 so i cant say shit lol

  • At least you´re lucky. My Prizm´ speedometer isn´t working...:(

  • Given that this is the 1.6 liter with 105 brake horsepower, 0-60 in just under 10 seconds is pretty brisk.

  • wtf dude..for 1.6 liter..thats not slow AT ALL! and the 1.8 is even faster then that and retains the same if not better mileage :D

  • 1.6L

  • im thinking about buying a geo prizm 1.8 liter...would u suggest it? whats the pro's and con's of prizms?

  • Pros? It is a Toyota Corolla.

Cons? Cheap worksmanship on exterior and interior but still will serve you a few decades.

If you have not bought a Prizm already I suggest you buy a 1994-1997 Prizm. Better quality, more Japanese parts than newer Prizms. Avoid Chevrolet Prizms, they suck. Buy a Geo Prizm if you want Toyota quality.

  • I couldn't agree more. Lowest-costing car that it still respectable. Anything cheaper is either a Geo Metro or a Hyundai.

  • I just sold my '96 prizm. It was a great car. The pros of a Prizm are the cheap ownership costs (basically no costs at all besides gas, oil changes, and new tires when you need them). The cons were slow acceleration, some rust around the wheel wells and the rims, and cheap GM interior materials.

  • Well thats BS, GM uses good quality materials. My car has a flawless interior. Maybe some of the cheap cars like Cavaliers and Geos had junky ones but what do you expect when you buy a car that cheap - luxury?

  • say what you want man, all i know is that my prizm had flimsy plastic cupholders, a cheap dash that easily cracked, and the driver's side interior door handle and passenger side exterior door handle broke off. Other than that I thought it was a well made car. I have to say this, the passenger side handle broke off in sub 20 degree temps; it was frozen so it basically shattered.

  • IIRC, the Prizm is basically a rebadged Toyota Corolla so it would be Toyota who produces the low quality interior. Never had any problems with my dash, cupholders, handles or anything else (But then again my car isn't a Geo and was no where near as cheap).

  • It was the GM who produced the shitty parts like ABS system, interior etc.

Your car is a GM car? Let me tell what breaks in your car first: Your tranny, your engine.Who needs cupholders when you have a blown engine and a dead tranny? You do?

  • No dipshit, I have 145k miles on my original 4T60 transmission and I have 145k miles on my original 3800 Series II supercharged motor. Starts like a charm every day and runs like a champ. Shifts very firm. This car has only needed regular maintenance that every car does. Interior is flawless, brakes are very good, not too touchy but very responsive. Blame Toyota, they're the makers of such shitty cars.

  • Yes the prism is a rebadged corrolla , my friend had a 93 corrolla , and his door handle broke , just like on my 95 prism. it doesn't get cold at all where i live. Also my passenger side mirror fell off at one point , it was noisy as hell , rode like crap , handled like crap , but was decent on gas and only needed a starter in the 4 years and 20k or so hard miles we put on it.

  • I have a 1996 Prizm with a 1.6L engine that I bought used in October 2006. It's a decent, reliable car that gets good gas mileage (I often get at least 30mpg). I've had to have a few parts replaced so far, but overall it's a money saver car. The 1.8L only adds 10 horsepower, but I guess if it gets the same gas mileage, go for it. One thing I'd keep in mind is that the tachometer was a rare option (so I've heard). Personally, I consider a tach useful if you have a manual transmission.

  • I do not have a tachometer either on my Prizm LSI 1.8.

  • do u know if ur car shifts automaticly before redlining? kus my 3 speed dont got a tach so i dont know wen to shift

  • I do not have a tachometer either and mine is auto. You can add a tachometer on the side.Autoparts store sell them .

  • I have 1.8.

  • its actually not that bad. it's pretty fast for only 100 horse power.

  • had a 91 prism hatchback..got that fucking thing bouncing off the revlimiter in 3rd gear no headlights (in case of meeting up with a cop) in the middle of winter (northern maine winter)...no idea how fast i was going i THINK its like what 115-120??? would i be wrong in saying that??? oh and they sound very sexy with no mufflers hahaha that was the talk of the town for a week (like about 400 people)

  • 91s top out at 105 i have one... i had to buy a mod chip for it

  • i love my muthafucking geo i put a bad ass system in it and new speakers and some rims niggas

  • i dnt know how it funny

  • Everything on my '96 Prizm still works, and I mean everything (the A/C, the radio, and every single light bulb; the high-mount stop lamp, side-marker lights, everything.)

  • It doesnt sound slow in the beginning but when it hits 100 it sounds dull

  • They might be slow as piss, but they are great little cars. My first Prizm was a 5-speed with 205,000mi and my current one is an auto with 201,600mi. Neither car burns a drop of oil. Them Toyoya 1.8 DOHC motors are well built

  • Agreed. Haven't had one, not one, problem with my '96 in all its 152,000 miles. Some days I hate my car, becasue it's slow and dull. But other days it's like an old friend,; it never lets me down and always gets me where I need to go.

  • Exactly. I have a '96 Prizm (with the engine from a '97 in it, but I didn't discover that until I had to change the starter way back when I got it.) I've had it for 5 years and all I do is change the oil regularly and put gas in it and turn the key and it goes. It can do 70 on the highway all day long. It has a 1.2 Liter 4 cylinder and a 5-Speed stick.

  • Mine has the 3 speed auto, so you can imagine the slow acceleration from a stop. But it's not meant for performance, just simple, dependable, and economical transportation. Those 5 speeds are rare, aren't they?

  • I believe most of the 5-speeds came with the 1.8 engines.

  • do you know if it shifts automaticly before redlining? kus my 3 speed dont got a tach so idk wen to shift

  • That was a really long first gear until you shifted at 50 Mph, lol!

  • Not bad at all for an economy car. I enjoyed my Prizm.

  • ya it is funny geos are like kid cars lmao

  • my prizm doesn't have a tacometer

  • short shifter, ok but why the hell a stage 3 clutch? that wont help anything unless u have a heavly modded engine. im sorry but if u want fast, get a diffrent car or dump $10 k under the hood and driveline.

  • and thats another reason why i don't like auto trans on cars from the 90s and under they all have 3 or 4 speed, meaning slow acceleration.

  • look at muscle cars they got so much torque it barelly got high top speeds so haveing low gear numbers means u got more acceleration not less

  • muscle cars back then only had 3 to 4 gears (manual) and weighed a ton. cars now in days are light as a feather compared to muscle cars from 60's and 70's

  • lmao and ur point is?

  • what im saying is if the muscle cars back then had 5 gears (manual) they would get much better acceleration because every gear would hit at the highest or near the highest power band compared to a 3 that would always shifts on the lower power band and 4 gears usually shifts on the mid to near high power band.

  • ya cars with more gears have better acceleration. your a fucking idiot when you shift is when u loose the most speed if your shifting more you loose more speed..think before you talk tard

  • if you dont know how to shift fast you will loose speed. hows this for this car. 1st 35mph 2nd 55mph 3rd 80mph 4th 100mph 5th max. i did the 3rd to 4th shorter than the rest because at that speed the car has a lot of wind drag that would cause it to speed up slower. so by making the shifts shorter would give it a boost in acceleration.

am i still a tard and an idiot?

  • and the point is as long as you have your cars suspension and trans tuned right your car would accelerate faster with the same stock engine.

  • dude you need to change that wide ratio trans, that trans shifts way under the power band and too long to get to the redline that means slower acceleration. get a short ratio trans and you feel and see the difference in acceleration.

  • You are right but wrong about the shifts. They are at peak HP.

  • My Geo goes faster than that lol.

  • i think that 9 seconds for a 100 hps automatic prizm is good.....

  • hell 9 secconds is good for anything with 100 horses

  • put a short shifter and a stage 3 clutch duh!

  • its auto u cant tell?

  • too bad its an automatic...

    thats not that slow though.

  • haha i know....100 hp geared miles apart = geo (fucking slow!!!)

  • That car is so slow because the gear ratios are way to big for the engine to handle
