save your money. emi suck ass. get a free plug in or 2 and a ton of drugs. these desks sound like shit with computers. that sounds all about reel to reel. ask those dudes at SUN....they'll tell y'all the same.
tape. one mic. maybe 2. y'all can do it for like 50 bucks....ebay for a reel to reel 8 track. shure 57s. a big room. rock n roll .
"Typical" 60s setup? Look at all the photos of Ringo in the studio: One mic overhead, one mic on the bass drum. Even when Geoff Emerick took over as engineer, he still pretty much used that same setup (until they started recording on 8-track), except he shoved the bass drum mic into the bass drum (which was a big EMI no-no back then).
@Goznc Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure its just a sample tune they threw together using Native Instruments products ... like 60s drums and Guitar Rig and stuff. You can go listen to it on the website though, I think if you just go to the Abbey Road 60s drums page and go to audio samples, it'll be on there!
I see nothing..I hear nothing....put everything in place an then play a full sesion.....now it is
a big bol of loss ends....funny face..and so on...play the drum kit and give me that full
sound of the 60..

@baergal Yeah, you can tell it doesn't sound natural, unlike if it hadn't used samples.
