  • Thats the best 8 year old hockey player i have ever seen in all my best players. At first i did not think he was 8!!!! he is going to the show!!

  • what's this kids name and where can i find more of his highlight reels?!?

  • what yoour music?

  • Hey jgarry1433 Don't think you need to defend yourself to people like the ones who comment on these videos, Your kid is good you support him enough said. Nice video!

  • how do these kids get private ice???

  • @Falc0nPunchMines ... Received a few private ice slots for training kids at the rink.

  • @Falc0nPunchMines some places have free skate which is only 5 bucks great way to learn thats how i did it

  • oh i thought he was zetterberg but... he's shorter than him

  • I'm 44 and all I have on this kid is speed. Nice job. As long as he loves the game, keep working.

  • Wish I could turn like that. He likes Zetterberg, so he's one step ahead of everyone else.

He'll always be a great hockey player but his ability to make it to the NHL will also be dictated by his size when fully grown, his dedication to conditioning and whether he gets enough elite training (10,000 hours of experience)

  • how good is his hockey sense, How good is his passing? how well does he play his position?does he make the right decisions at the right times? his endurance? How often does he loose the puck? His stick handling/movements is simply spectacular but don't forget one video can't tell you everything about a player, He probably does have the answers to my above questions but guys, don't jump to conclusions too quickly. Loving the Zetters Jersey, Go Red Wings :D he's an amazing talent nonetheless.

  • I've known several in the NHL, and they all agree it's not about talent as much as it is how much you love the game, which translates into how hard will you work for it.... they say Crosby and Gretzky had something in common, through juniors they worked and practiced all the time even when there was no practice, they worked on stick skills all the time even while relaxing. If this kid loves it, and it's not just his parents dream, he's got what he needs.

  • @cppbandit - Absolutely agree. Desire must come from within. My only dream is for my kids to be healthy and for them to live with an eternal perspective. It's nice that they excel at sports right now, but that doesn't mean they will continue to stand out as they get older. They may even choose not to play sports at all. I've said this before, but hopefully as a parent I can help them find what they love to do. It's more important that they become good people than great athletes.

  • This kid is better than me

  • THAT is incredible.

  • The kid has a great stride. is he really not on a team yet? one good thing of being on a team is that he will have more experience playing with other skilled kids which will push him to try harder. also, it will give him a better idea of what to work on both because he'll be in situations he isnt used to which will serve as examples for him to see where he needs work and by being taught by more coaches he will be able to see things from different vantage points. also exposure to scouts

  • @Richard1979hush ... Truth is he has been playing on teams since the age of 5. Has played up 2 to 3 years every year. Has played in numerous high level tournaments over the last several years. Has offers to play all over the United States and Canada this Spring/Summer. I firmly believe kids should not focus on one sport and he'll be speding most of his summer relaxing, and having fun doing other things.

  • @jgarry1433 its good to hear that you arent putting too much pressure on him, God bless

  • @jgarry1433 you are an awesome dad

  • thumbs up if u skipped the ad :)

  • Good moves!

  • LOL, this kid controls better than i do. I'm 16.

  • yess.... but does he have an iphone?

  • who ever says he will get drilled... is wrong, if he has hands and speed like that, nothing is going to be able to touche this kid, he better be going pro... and i give credit to who ever the parents are to this kid for teaching him this stuff, dont stop! he is already better then me and im on the high school team (: haha

  • Whoever is criticizing this kid is a freaking moron. This kid is great, I know many kids who play AAA and are 10 that aren't as good as him. His skating is especially solid, few kids at any age have full return of their leg under their body in the forward stride and his stickhandling is very smooth. He's gonna be fantastic one day if he keeps up this progress.

  • So many people talk about getting drilled with your head down and crap, give the kid credit, he's 8 years old. he'll learn about hitting soon enough

  • Thanks! "Yeah... he has always worked on vision, seeing the ice, and skating with his head up". All people have to do is watch his game footage to know that. On the other hand if people watch Datsyuk, Malkin, Toews, Crosby, and Kovalev stickhandling in practice, they all have their heads down... Why? Because they are just simply working on their hands. Many peolple just don't get it.

  • 0:16 - the Ronaldo Chop :)

  • This kid is dirty....He reminds me of Patrick Kane for some reason lol

  • This will be great footage to show when he's in the NHL.

  • Wow! I've never seen anything like this!!!

  • His better than me, and i am 14

  • keep your head up when you skate! Someone can come out of nowhere and check your ass off

-->Your pretty good for an 8 year old though, KEEP IT UP!

  • every time i see a "amazing hockey star only 7" i usually get pissed because of 1. the kid is pure crap or 2. the parents are annoying and wish their kid was a "star" and are overly obsessed but this video im very VERY impressed by this little guy he has some major talent and WILL go far i hoe to hear more from him he deserves it and has some great parents, i play for AAA jr. Bulldogs in my city and am getting ready for scouting into the OHL from coaches hope i see this kid in the bigs soon. :D

  • yeahhhh he gunna get hit hard!

  • how fitting a zetterberberg jersey lol.sick hands kid hes got some wheels to keeper up

  • normally when i watch a "young hockey star" video i'm unimpressed. this however was very different. kid's got serious talent.

  • hes better than me :)

  • haha i remember when i was in novice now im 13 and 10x as good as i was

  • Im 14 ive been playing since 3 and hes better gthan me...! :O

  • crossing over backwards and stickhandling was amazing keep working and you will go far!

  • This kid is fantastic. I'm 15 and he's better than me.. I've only been playing for a few years though

  • Wow is he ever fast !! thats awsome !

  • this kid is amazing i could barely lift the puck, if not at all when i was 8

  • he is good but work on backhands :)

  • around 2:35 he needs to have a tighter turn around the cones

  • better hand than me and im a tier 2 Bantam but im not on the team for my hands, 6'2" 14 year old has potential :D

  • Red Wings Suck put a Patrick Kane jersey on that kid and he'll be even better

  • @awesuman8998 who won more stanly cups? thats right the red wings

  • @awesuman8995 No, we don't want him beating up taxi drivers.

  • nice dude your pretty good i play atom a keep praciceing peace out man

  • Wow... what a great skater :D .... a future Allstar maybe? + Your makeing me and hole Sweden proud by wearing that Zäta shirt! :D Keep it Comeing!

  • he's good but its not hard to have someone that good when your 8 i was just mess in around and playing with a kid who was 8 and he was almost as good as this and he was playing AA imagine an 8 year old in AAA

  • @dalbgg6 ive been in AAA ever since i was 6 and was eligible to tryout, now im being scouted by coaches for the OHL! :D

  • That kid has drive.

  • Looks fantastic ! Good chance he won't have to pick up old shingles with the beast for a living.

  • He is a great skater ..... i was way better when i was 8

  • This kid is probably better then some people on my Bantam team lol.

  • hes good!

  • NEXT STAR, DO HATE PEOPLE.....HES GOT TALENT :)

  • sick

  • We would love all three boys to play together again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only for the boys, but for us parents as well!!

  • That's me when I was a kid!

  • @CoachDad0301 typical hockey parents dont have kids that can do that at age 8...tool

  • Good stuff little man.

  • Kick ass, nice jersey too, Go Wings... hopefully he will be wearing that jersey for real some day, with his last name on the back.

  • This kids phonominal. You are an inspiration being a parent thats dedicated to their sons dream so much. I saw this because Detroit Red Wings posted it on facebook .. only the Wings would have such great scouting as to already be looking at an 8 year old! Keep it up and this kids the next pavel datsyuk in the making

  • He's good. A few things though

1)He clearly hasn't played much with other kids (which many will say is a bad thing, but it teaches him more than just passing and positioning which is something all the other kids practice) - this will help him in many ways with his individual play, but inevitably hurt his future if 'Dad' doesn't get him on a team soon

2)Too much weight on back heal when he shoots (back foot/toe is where it should be)

*TIP* work out his right hand/wrist more for stick handling

    A-

  • @OganProductions - "Z" TrippN

  • @OganProductions ya thats true i seen kids who can stick handle better than some pros but thier absolute shit in a game cuz 1.) they dont know were to be and 2.) they hav there head down for more than a second in a junior game there end up on thier ass... but really great start for stick handling. awsome job!!

  • is that fraser ice arena?

  • @newyoik2 - Actually a rink in PA. Wish it were a rink in Red Wings Country.

  • Wow has some great skill cant wait till he suits up for the Red Wings one day!! =)

  • Have him work on his right edge seems like he takes much bigger turns on it than his left.

  • Also, I was most impressed with at the end where he made the back hand pass and got the pass back and shot without hesitation

  • Wait until that boy get some strength in those arms, he'll have a loaded gun.

  • You realize all you guys are talking shit about an 8 year old? How pathetic is that? The kid obviously has amazing talent, he has amazing hands for a kid his age...hell even for a 15 year old. I can honestly say I wasn't that good at 8 years old and I made it to the OHL. I hope to see this kid play in 10-11 years. congrats

  • @chocolatemuffins83 im being scouted for a team right now into the OHL! :D

  • I hope you stay in that Wings jersey buddy.

  • Thats amazing.... Im 14 and he can play better than me <3 !! Kepp uploading these videos pleaasssee!

  • @CoachDad0301 Damn that must be the most least encouraging miserable thing I've ever heard a human being say. It's pathetic that people could possibly consider commenting like this on a video of 7 year old boy. Whether he becomes great or not, all we can do is hope that he never becomes a fraction of the person CoachDad is. Just sad...

  • dang he got moves for a 7 year old

  • If its your son - Be proud! Thats damn impressive! Awesome kid!

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!

  • @CoachDad0301

I've played hockey for 10 years or so (no contact) on a flooded pond, for a few years i tried full contact indoors, i had to turtle a lot cuz i just wasn't used to it. I'd still like to join a league and play indoor hockey, because i feel its more competitive than what i have, i would just have to adjust to full contact. (this kid could still be a great hockey player even if he couldnt play the check game)

  • This kid is awesome for an 8 year old, anybody saying otherwise is just jealous.. I have no respect for people with the boston bruins mentality of hitting before playing hockey. Whats the deal with ''wait till he plays contact hockey'' ? If he's this awesome now, he just can get better.

  • When you want to succeed,

As bad as you want to breath.

    Thats when you'll be successful.

  • holy shit im speechless thats insane !!! better then me and I play decent hockey and I'm 16 hahaha. what type of drills do you do with him ? do you work with him 1 on 1 a lot ? or did he teach himself ? hahhah please reply but thats awesome

  • @YEUHNBD - In the beginning training was simply basic fundamentals with lots of correction. Now that his technique is pretty sound, we mostly work on vision "Head up always" and Passing. We just attend "Stick and Puck Sessions". Keep it laid back and fun. Always go out to eat afterwards and play in the arcade. Send me a message at jgarry1433 and I'll tell you all the training DVD's we use. Good Luck!

  • Bender.

  • wtf

  • 2:57 I totally thought he was going into the boards! Nice stop!

  • what's with the haters? kid's trying to show his skills, not do game sequences. how can he keep his head up when he's practicing deking around pucks? he won't know where they are. i hate it when people tell kids that ARE FRIKIN 8 YEARS OLD they suck when they're just jealous.

  • hey shows off to much he does that in a game hes dead! im in 12u and if we dont move the puck you will get layed out.oh and FYI i could do all that and more

  • @CoachDad0301 Typical hockey wannabe coach douchebag. See's a kid, with more skills then he ever had. Then types in CAPITAL LETTERS WHAT HE HOPES WILL HAPPEN TO THIS KID AND HIS DREAMS. Hey A hole, nothing wrong with a kid working on his skills, and there is nothing wrong with being a proud supportive parent either.

  • oo yea and there will be videos of his young protege coming soon, the 6 year old that dangles n snipes like no other...

  • wow all you haters are insane, i cant believe the level some ppl will stoop to just to make themselves feel better...i happen to know this kid, he turned 9 yrs old about a week ago and has been playin with kids that are 2-3 yrs older since he was 6...he has all the talent in the world, fundamentally sound and has the "it" factor....an amazing 9 year old hockey player, easily top 5 in the country.... who hates on 9 year olds?? REALLY?? get after it Z!!!

  • Look up: 9 year old shootout

The kid is 9 against 12 year olds and hes beast

  • I play for Chicago Mission, eh. He is alright.

  • datsyuk

  • @CoachDad0301 - Plays with older kids and gets checked and cheap shotted all the time. Has never laid on the ice and doesn't complain. He'll probbly do what his older brother is doing ... He's taking a couple years off, just training and skiing until checking resumes at Bantam. They're both tired of two hand touch. Nice try though. LMAO.

  • @jgarry1433 He needs to play with a big kid....hmmm....let think.....how about The Beast, he'll watch his back!!!! Mom of #9, The Beast!!!

  • @DELANO2396 - Would love to see them play together again!

  • People need to relax. He's just a kid. He's got a long time before he starts checking. And who cares, he's pretty damn good for his age. Some kids can't even skate at that age.

  • 1:45 all i see is alot of sloppy stick handling

  • Not bad. Maybe a high round pick in the 2022 NHL draft.

  • @zzgretzkyzz this kid will be in the 2022 drafts picked to rangers or blackhawks in round like 10

  • @SPORTSGAMINGPRO15

    LOL too funny :)

  • wow he can stick handle. yipee

  • your pretty good i play aaa spring hockey with the 2003 blue vancouver selects are you going to the brick tournament?

  • @MrHOCKEYROCKS1212 - Don't like to look too far into the future, but have been asked to play in the Brick tournament for next year. He can play for any Brick team even Canadian because of where we live in the U.S.A.

  • holy shit hes good

  • I bet this kid could go pro. I'm fourteen and he's better than me... granted, I'm a girl, but still. Good job!(-:

  • Wow didnt realise how crazy you guys can get over hockey ?? its a great sport!! unfotunatly never had the opportunity to do and would love to try some time. And this guys father sounds like a great guy from his comments!! Sure if he went to the NFL that would be great .... but hel grow up in a few years time he might not want to play hockey .... but at least his father give the oppotunity to find out what he wanted to do and not forced him to do some thing he doesnt ! Great Video!

  • Sick !!

  • a lot of people see these videos of good little kids and immediately say "hes going to the nhl".... with this kid that could not be more true

  • @xxkiingcrustxx Guys, I really think you're all making a mountain out of a mole hill. Making it to the NHL? Really? You're going to make that call? Do you have any concept of what it takes? I have known many many Kids growing up playing as I played in the AHL for the Syracuse Crunch just after they were founded. It takes so much more then being able to stick handle at age 8. Must be an American making that comment because every Canadian knows how tough it is!!!

  • @proudfreemason honestly you cant make any comment on youtube any more without some trying to make an argument out of it. Why is it that all canadians have to hate on american hockey players and fans? we like hockey just as much as you do. and this kid most likely will not go to the NHL, i know that. just trying to give the kid some inspiration is all.

  • @proudfreemason - Who cares about the NHL. All I care about is that my kids are healthy and end up being happy. It's more important to be a good person than a great athlete. My job as a parent is to help my kids find out what they love to do. What I can tell you though is your many comments have been mean spirited. If my kid were to make the NHL, but conducted himself as you have, I will have failed as a parent.

  • @jgarry1433 Oh wasn't that just tear jerking...What are you talking about???? Someone stated this kid was going to the NHL and I said think twice. Toughen up, it's a tough World.. Jeeeeezus!

  • @jgarry1433 As a father...I find what you said inspiring...made me think... BTW - your kids got some sick sick skill...

  • c u in the NHL really soon keep it up

  • Sure, we only play around Manitoba, what is the OTTF?

  • @thenissan - Name of a big tournament in Toronto. A lot of NHL'ers like Rick Nash and Ryan Kesler played there when they were little. Not too far from PA. Manitoba is quite a haul from Pennsylvania. Need a jet for that trip.

  • Hes just deadly. I think my son might play against him if you over come to Canada. my sons a 2004 playing 8A1 and probably 9A1 next year. your little guy is deadly. good work.

  • @thenissan - We'll be in several Canadian tournaments throughout the spring and summer at The '03 AAA level. Probably OTTF, Bauer, and Ronald McDonald. If not this year maybe we"ll see you at Brick if your son plays up a year. Good Luck.

  • WHEN THE USA WINS A HOCKEY TOURNAMENT THEY MAKE IT INTO A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE.... Ahahahahahaha

  • @proudfreemason do you have anything else to do besides come on here and start talking shit about youth hockey? really man grow up...

  • @proudfreemason - You've seem to have lost your way... The Canadian VS. American Hockey thread can be found at Network54.

  • @jgarry1433 Nope, I know where I am. The Hockey Mecca of the World, Canada..

  • That's no kid... it's Martin St. Louis!!

  • @goldenLIGHT187 Martin St.Louis (Canadian)...

  • nice hands

  • Congrats to your son! Please dont listen to all the other butthurt dads out there. We should all be proud of our kids no matter how skilled they are on and off the ice.

  • In Canada this is just another 8 year old - In the USA this kid become a Youtube star! LOL..Come on up here and see how the game is truly played....My 3 year old is doing this with his hands and his skating is almost there, no joke and my 5 year old daughter skates better..

  • @proudfreemason ... Played in one AAA elite Canadian tournament last Summer. Got MVP for the tournament. Do you say silly things all the time?

  • @jgarry1433 Sure ya did big fella! When you guys win a tournament you make a major motion picture about it. Need a I say more? Wake up, Canada is the MECCA of HOCKEY!

  • @jgarry1433 sure ya did big fella, sure ya did...

  • @jgarry1433 - I can say that I won the Stanley Cup, Silver Stick and the Art Ross, but that doesn't mean I did. You got MVP of your team as that's how Tourny's work. They have to pick someone from each side, you were probably the best AMERICAN at that time. Great! Missing the point Kiddo. In Canada we don't even talk about winning MVP or Trophies. If you haven't won the Memorial or better, zip your lip because it doesn't matter. Keep your stick on the ice or you'll learn that next!

  • @proudfreemason oh silly canadians are just angry because they cant accept the fact that they arnt better at hockey anymore at the youth levels

  • @bouttogotowork - I like how you say "YOUTH LEVELS" which is still an inaccurate statement. You have to understand, up here Hockey is played like you guys play Football in the southern states. I mean no disrespect, I just speak the truth. Go look at ALL of your hockey teams and tell me who you have on them. The GTHL is the most competative and largest youth hockey league on this planet. More NHL players come out of this league then the rest combined so please don't tell me more..

  • This kid is SIIIIIIIICK!

  • This kid has sick skills

  • whe i was young i used to have my head down al the time, i learned to keep it up and i turned out just fine, this kid will too so stop saying negative things.

  • is that at the old york rink in old york,PA?

  • @iTzEmbo Yes, Old York Road... Elkins Park, PA.

  • @jgarry1433 damn i play there all the time

  • filthy for his age, only negative thing i have to say is the fishbowl is ugly as can be

  • Can't believe all the negative comments, must be jealous kids. This kid in the video, can skate and handle that puck pretty good for an 8 year old. If you just want to hate on the kid because you think you're better just don't comment. I swear, every hockey player always thinks they are the best hockey player. lol. nothing will change.

  • dddddddddddiiiiirrrrrty

  • kids gotta keep is head up, or by the time he gets to peewee BAM!

  • @DropShotify I guess you haven't seen any Reebok It's your Move Vids. Pavel and all the top guys have their heads down. It's because they are just messing around doing tricks. In games his head's up, great vision, and moves the puck. In real training sessions and games it's about seeing the ice and finding teammates.

  • @jgarry1433 yea, hes 8 years old. hes not Pavel Datsyuk. hes not doing commercials for Reebok. again hes 8 years old. he should be practicing head up all the time. he can play though, thats for sure

  • @DropShotify You can hit in peewee anymore. USA hockey made it a rule cuz to many kids were getting injured. So in Bantams he will get hit :D

  • @DropShotify he will be to good to get checked.. plus he kinda looks up do to the fact there is no players on the rink...

  • O.O by bro is 16 and he can't even do that XD

hes very good for a 7 year old! he might just be a NHL player(:

  • maybe a next NHL player 8-)

  • Look what happened to Eric Lindros, his parents promoted him way to much and his career is now over! it's called karma, stop putting pressure on your kid, he is an amazing stick handler for a 7 year old, just give him space and stop videotaping him! if he doesn't make it, he will feel like he dissapointed you!

  • very good=)

  • He can do it in practice but can he do it in a game?

  • great hands, great skater, great shot(for his age) could definately make a year up AAA team. NHL hopeful? probably

  • Best part of the video is he is repping a winter classic Zetterberg sweater.

  • @Quentin290000 @MrReesiesPieces you guys are idiots i play minor midget aaa so you guys can think what you want, when you are 11 and people say your 8 anyone can look this good

  • @jarrett310360771 Go to OTTF Canadian Spring Classic 2011 Minor Novice MVP, One Hockey 2003 All Star. You're clueless. Just get over the fact that a kid 8 can have this much skill.

  • Nice video and a good player!

  • good for him looks very good

  • c ya in the NHL good work keep it up man

  • NHL prospect great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • That kid is very good and could definitely go somewhere. Ignore what everyone else is saying about him. Just make sure he keeps at it and works very hard. I'm just learning how to play ice hockey myself (Something I've wanted to do when I was young but never had the chance) and it is not something easily picked up!

At 3:18 he catches the puck very well from a pass and then releases it fairly quick- an under looked skill!

  • also nicee jersey (:

  • this is one of the kids you will see in the world juniors playing for USA at 17

  • One pair of knees. Someone will be coming for them.
