The Tim Burton films are classics... but they belong in the Elseworlds universe, come on all those inconsistent storylines (batman killing, joker dies, joker is the killer of the Wayne's instead of Joe Chill, Catwoman is supernatural, etc)
These films that Nolan has established firmly goes hand in hand with the Modern Era Batman since Miller's Year One. Long live The Dark Knight and bring on TDKR :D
Sincerely, Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale made the Batman's spirit revival when it was at the downest level. Before B.Begins released, I thought Batman was finished because of crap movies and my age but I discovered that I was more attached to the caracter than I used to. I discovered too and incerdible actor (and favorite now) that is Christian Bale, the best Bat.
And ok Begins has some filming defaults and Bale's voice is too growled sometimes in TDK but what do you want ? Hockey pads ?
@OussWayne funny thing is, i felt exactly the same, because of Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale, Batman suddenly became one of my favourite superheroes ... i remember hating the batman films ( i still do ) but Batman Begins and the Dark Knight just brilliant, i cant wait for next summer ; BANE.
@NEMZOOO Yeah, me too I very impatient to see the last chapter. Moreover, I watched Bronson last night and I have been very impressed by the Tom Hardy's actor playing. Great climax in preparation
About the ONLY way they could top Batman Begins & The Dark Knight, would be to have Kevin Conroy's voice overdubbed with Christian Bale's while Bale is in the costume. They do that, and as the net phrase goes: "My money. All my money. Take it."
That or someone finds a way to resurrect Heath Ledger and lets Mark Hamill do the laugh.
"to conquer fear, you must become fear" its why we all wear black... for so many reasons.. we fake happiness and smile it all off .. but the pain the hate, the depressed, the hidden to make people smile, the solemn the dark still lives.. this is what signifies our kind. i laugh and they think we do well... no we just hide it well. depression is a sickness. its permanent. and yes i still take my pills. and yes i still say. come unto me,, feel the dark and the delight. its all i have alone.
EPIC Batman moment. i betcha Batman did this a couple of times throughout his [crime-fighting] career :-P :-D (ie. referring to the bats all flying around him while he was just standing still in the Batcave)
This scene is probably the most epic Batman moment than any other, to me personally. Bruce Wayne becoming one with his greatest fear of bats as they become one with him & the epic background music with so much emotional power. Christian Bale is beyond words the best depiction of Bruce Wayne/Batman as Chris Nolan is the most visionary storyteller to retell the legend of the Dark Knight.
I personally preferred Batman begins to the Dark Knight. It was just so cool seeing the birth of Batman, something no other film has exploited, not even Tim Burton's.
@KingofBionicle I agree with you, And it shows that Batman is just an ordinary man (except for being rich) and not some guy bitten by a bat (yeah I do know some people who thought of that)
But The Dark Knight had a better vision of what people do in when in chaos, how simple they think wich is in my opinion great
This scene could have been really corny in the hands of any other person directing, but Nolan shows Bruce finally overcoming his fear, and explains why he chooses bats as his persona, without a single word spoken.
Nothing against Bale because he's a great actor and he plays a great Batman, but let's be real, this movie would have never worked without Christopher Nolan at the helm directing. He took this franchise to a place few thought was possible 10 years ago after the debacle that was Batman Forever and Batman and Robin. So as much as I like Bale in the Batman role, Nolan has a thing for bringing out the best in his actors through his many talents as a director, writer and editor.
@kpernod30 Honestly agree with you. Christopher Nolan is a visionary director. First notice him with the amazing Memento. Still his best work to date. But he brought a sense of dignity to the Batman franchise.
I love this video please do not ever delete it, uploader you done a great job, the best quality around and completely unedited without all the bullcrap.
This is the scene that sold me on the whole revamp of the franchise. Bale IS Wayne. Bale IS Batman. Brings a depth to all three sides of the character. He lends such an earnestness that this portrayal demands. And personally I love the voice. I'm sick of people ragging on it. Wayne is a man possessed when he puts on the mask. In context the voice is right. If he were growling for no reason I'd agree but he ALWAYS has a reason.
Tank u! Finally sum1 dat respects Bales performance as much as I do. I luv how u said Wayne is possessed wen he put on d suit because in reality he really is. He becomes fear itself as Batman fear is neither charming nor seductive fear is domineering and intimidating which is wat Bale portrays excellently. As batman he's a beast driven by his anger
I love this religious moment Bruce has in the cave embracing his new identity. Gives a good explanation why he chose the bat as a symbol without even saying so much as a word or any other form of explanation. EPIC!
Bale is best Batman and I don't care what anyone says. He relates more to the comic Batman than any other actor including Keaton. The voice may sound overboard sometimes in The Dark Knight ONLY but in Batman Begins it sounds awesome.
In my opinion he's the best Bruce Wayne, but his dialogue when he's actually Batman is a bit..too exaggerated. Anyways, its still great. But after a while, it gets kinda cheeeeezy.
Disagree with the voice complaint. There are 3 personas to Bruce Wayne. Real Bruce Wayne (the one his friends and family gets to see), Playboy Bruce Wayne (the one for public occasions) and Batman. Batman is the real BWs anger personified. Ever spoke in anger? That voice being so grimm, almost growling makes perfect sense. Up until now Bale is the only actor to portray all three personas distinguishable, while being both good looking and physically imposing.
@trustno1 I prefer Batman over all other masked superheroes because of this! Even though other superheroes put on a mask, they're still the same person (albeit a little-lot-more confident). But there's just no way Batman and Playboy Bruce Wayne is related, no way at all!
I also think Bale is the first to portray the difference between Bruce's three personas...it's just a bit difficult to tell between Real Bruce Wayne and Playboy Bruce Wayne when played by other actors.
@WarThug13 Not anyone can be Batman, and Bale is an extremely talented actor, and of course Nolan is the master, but you can have an amazing director, if the cast suck, then the movie will suck ! In Nolan's movies, the cast is awesome, all of them, reunite amazing actors and a freaking good director, and you'll get a masterpiece ^^
One of the things that made this movie great was the music. When the Bats come flying out of the cave with Bruce standing there embracing his fear was just spine-chilling

its not the bats he fears, the bat is just an icon of his fear that lurk within him.
we all have fears within ourselves.when we have not yet discovered this demon in us, we become afraid of it.
the fears we hold come in many forms and varies between our character that we play.
i my self must meet this fear.
