Hi. Our Model 65 is leaking water out the reset switch. Reading on the web leads me to think that the seal around the motor shaft has fails. Any ideas? Thanks
Corrosion?-You should see cars in the northern US and Canada. Fenders and doors crumbling after 5-6 years and holes in floor panels. Sometimes carpet can be seen hanging out of perforated floors. I hate winter and road salt in the higher latitudes.
BTW I tried to repair a sink disposal with worn brushes. But the motor casing was plastic with no provision for accessing the brushes- so in went a new Insinkerator like this one.
@RODALCO2007 damn when it gets jammed thats the worse or something that gets down there that you have to take a alan wrench and put it in the bottom and wiggle the whole damn blades and what not till it unjams and then you have to put it back on
The first thing I did was install one of these in my place as soon as I moved in (Insinkerator 777).. rated at "one horsepower".. Chicken bones, fruit pits, and the odd utensil or object thats NOT supposed to go down there will get destroyed with no effort whatsoever. Also used an old magnetic motor starter with a 24Vac coil in the basement and tiny little N.O and N.C buttons under the upper cabinet above the sink to control the unit.

@EntropyDivideByZero Yes I think that has happened in your case.
These units seem to corrode. I have done a small repair about 3 months ago where a new hole appeared due to corrosion.

@Nivicoman Interesting you have them with brushes.
Ours have an induction motor with start winding , so nu brushes to worry about and metal motor housing.

No problems.
By the way I really like your clock videos. I hope I will own a Hipp Toggle clock someday,

@EMSfreak Look on the web. The Favag is a very quiet Hipp Toggle clock., so are the 1 minute slaves.
The Gents is also a Hipp Toggle, but the 30 seconds slave movement is very loud.
