Why do interviewers constantly talk about George and Jon? Ummm did they forget about Mikey and Roy? Sometimes i feel like people dont give them credit for their talent or give them any recognition. Remember if Mikey had not approached George in that club in the eighties about forming a band it probably wont be any culture club. Mikey deserves alot of kudos.

Mikey and Roy aren't as well known as Jon but at least people don't think bad things about them like they do about Jon based on what George said.

He also criticized Roy for not wearing the right clothes, but wearing a football jersey. He also put Roy down for drinking too much and hiring prostitutes even though George was doing the exact same thing at the time. He didn't say much about Mikey except Mikey didn't like all the arguing.

George's voice has deteriorated over the years, it's nothing compared to what it used to be. I will point out that George still has more soul and feeling than many singers however. The point of my post was about George's comment about CC reforming w/o him as being a disaster. George stopped new CC after 1 private press gig. That's hardly measurable. They barely had a chance.

George's voice hasn't deteriorated to make it quite clear to you, rather the opposite. It has matured and sounds much richer than ever before. I'm sure not to be the only one to get goosebumps whenever I hear him perform live.

To correct George's claim of CC's reform with the "other singer" as a disaster is untrue. Here is what happened. Around 2006, Jon and Mikey reformed CC with Sam Butcher. George gave then the green light to reform with another singer and only stepped in threatening legal action against new CC out of his own insecurities when he got a look at the gorgeous Sam. Sam does have a decent voice, much better than George's these days. I still love George, but he can be totally full of it at times.

That was the goal, not to really continue the band without him. If they hadn't done it, he never would have agreed to do a new tour and album. Jon and MIkey had to get down to George's bitchy level. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.
