I've got an Asus EAH4850 512mb card, wit the stock cooler I could only overclock to 710gpu & 2008mem, so i ditched the stock cooler & bought a Zalman VF1000 pure copper cooler for it, along with the cooler it Zalman also supplies memory heatsinks, as soon as I installed to vga cooler & heatsinks I was able to overclock the card to 810gpu & 2400mem :) Didn't volt mod it or nothing, runs stable at full load & never goes above 56c gpu & 59cmem. All that overclocking gave me 12-15fps faster :)
ii overclocked mine...700/2200 with stock heatsink...but used a case fan with speed-control max speed 2,100 rpm ...idle at 35o celsius -max load 45o celcius doesnt go over 50o celcius
And I know it can't be the temp cuz the reason I got the Arctic Accelero was because the stock fan kinda died after I ran it @ 100% for like 3 months. Saw this thing hit 117c @ some points (100% fan duty). All it did was freeze up for a sec, cool down, and keep gaming. Not a burn anywhere on the card or old heat sink. I was astonished (ATI FOR LIFE!!!!)
How the hell do u guys get such stable clocks? I tried running Crysis @ 6:60/1050mhz and I got a VPU crash about 20mins in. First level. I wouldn't even dare go past 6:60 with those reactions. Temp was at about 62c. Just installed the Arctic Twin Turbo today too. Could it be a voltage problem? I'm kinda noob at voltage so do I have to make some sort of custom VDOC file to take the voltage past 1.158 or look elsewhere?
I just recently found out you can software voltmod this card, but only to 1.2v, standard is, uhmm, 1.12? you could probably get it to 760 or higher stable with 1.2 volt, read up on google about "volt mod 4850 xml profile"
You can only clock the radeon 4850 to about 700(730max unstable) core, and like 1140 memory.. you can go beyond, but it needs more voltage to run over those settings (and so far you cant software over volt the card) could be fun to rip off some of the volt controllers on the card and test it then? :O noooes...
If you pc isn't very good, take down the overclock value. The Overclock is a process to increase the performance of your VGA, but remember that your pc's components (Feeder and MotherBoard) are affected!
i have a 4850 pallit, did a benchmark STOCK, and it has 22,345.... overclocked it has 26,856
