  • Love your chickens! They are beautiful : ) Ours are 9 weeks old and we just got their coop yesterday. Can't wait for the eggs but they are my pets too...I'm actually sad they are going outside :)

  • lol im eating chicken right now!

  • there shoud be a movement to have chickens be classified as pets... ppl dont realise but they have alot of good benefits. especially for garders who want healthy plants. chicken scratching is natural arration aka healthy soil! just to name one benefits.. plus who would slaughter? pets are pets let them die naturally id agree with that restriction!

  • Most Interesting Video Ever.

  • We have 20 chickens 16 lohman browns and 4 rhode island reds

they are going to start laying in about three weeks. good video.

  • brown ones are always smart and beatiful

  • I have a chicken at home. She knows her name, LOVES food( and she's REALLY FAT ), and she is very bad but I still love her. She is so CUTE!!! We call her COCO, and we hope to get another chicken later this year.

  • SCOOTALOO'OO!

    SCOOT-SCOOTALOO'OO!

  • youknow....I think chickens to quantum mechanics in the middle of the night in their little hut....

and they know more about higher dimensions then we do.....

they're probably gonna take over the world in a few years.....

  • H5N1....

  • A good way to raise chickens

  • i have a chicken head

  • yeh..

  • I use to have a pet chicken when I was a young lad, I named it Jack.

  • eating chicken as i watch this...its turnin my stomach..ewww

  • My city says you can have 6 chickens regardless of lot size, but then a few paragraphs down it says your coop HAS to be 50 feet from any property line... WTH?

  • They like to eat their pets' fetuses. It's weird that it's okay to do that with your pet chicken but not pet dog or cat.

  • @tool404 It's only a "fetus" if they have a rooster. No rooster = no possibility of there being a baby chicken in the egg.

  • @MuddlingThrough2011 Fair enough, thanks for the info.

  • We love our backyard chickens! We just clipped their wings so they can roam the yard and not fly away! We are beginners so it was a challenge. We made a video that is really not helpful but it's kind of funny! So glad we are able to enjoy them these days in town!

  • CHICKEN! :D

  • These chickens are called Podbur and Higgins

  • @thomas45player4 Lol if you want :')

  • I miss my chicken... called banana ♥

  • Giving you the present truth for our time. Please watch the video. It will inform you what is going to happen very soon and when it does you will believe. John 14:29.

    Thank You,

  • My chickens are my pets, so when they stop laying eggs... they are still my pets! :)

  • @Shareallicu3~ are they still good eating-chickens when they stop laying eggs?

  • @marek0086 Yes... but thats not very nice.

  • @PowerPigify~ oh shut up.... they're just chickens!

  • @Shareallicu3 For me they are food! Eggs once in a while are a nice perk too but they are food...

  • @Shareallicu3 Your chickens are my dinner.

  • :D

Watch my interesting video about chickens: /watch?v=VTSXgV8_Isk

  • my citys website said we can have chickens, when we called them to ask how many we can have, the part where it said you can raise chickens was gone the next day, but we got them anyway.

  • beautiful birds with really nice, healthy feathers

  • @WildBillHabiki My Cock has fallen off.... it was walking along a wall just before that

  • why is Honda's U3-X Personal Mobility Prototype on my sugesons

  • Damn, I had a bucket of KFC right next to me while I was watching this video...

    It was tasty.

  • @Markgb3 Well I slammed the door on my Cock.... had to take it to the vet

  • Did you know that you can train chickens? Ive trained mine to not crap on you, and they all know their names. They also know a fiew works like "treat" and "water"

  • @TheChickeneer ya, well I trained mine to drive a car. Toonces the driving chicken.

  • @TheChickeneer I did not know that, although I fly with a guy who had a chicken, who knew it's name....I love chickens! I feed the chickens at my local farm where I buy most of my food....eggs, cheese, raw milk, fresh whey.....so much better. I think the chickens like me, I feed them every time I visit. =:o) I had bunnies and they were house trained, knew their names, loved the word "treat"

  • I'm getting chickens this Saturday.... SO EXCITED!!! :D

  • it makes me feel bad when i eat chicken and stuff but it tastes good>.<

  • i LOVE my chickens, i would never slaughter mine.....i stay close to my chickens....i believe there more pets than livestock....would u just slaughter your dog.....?

  • @thechickenguy101 ur a vegetarian presume

  • I don't understand why people would slaughter chickens unless they stopped laying eggs- yes, they taste good, but from a survival perspective, you would get a LOT more food from their eggs than the meat.

We've just brought in 4 happy chickens, and they're surprisingly low-maintanence. About as much work as, say, a cat or something. They just need attention, means of roaming the yard once in a while, and a safely built coop. They also enjoy cuddling, andtheir feathers are very, very soft.

  • @GiantPetRat lucky bugger! My two chickens are humanophobic! Every time a huma ngoes near, they retreat away from them. They REALLY don't like bieng hugged...

  • @TheStealthX Yeah, it's funny, too- we bought them from a humane farm in our state. They were chosen at random from a huge sea of chickens. So although they were treated well, they likely experienced little one-on-one human contact. We even have two Araucanas (who aren't supposed to be too cuddly) and one of them loves being held.

  • They are better fried than alive

  • chickens

  • I love chickens, the are the funniest birds on earth. Growing up on the farm we always had chickens and they always supplied plenty of humor.

  • Chickens are my favourite animals :D <3

  • total sense not to slaughter? backwards society that thinks that they are returning back to a simpler lifestyle yet they incorporated the worst laws and ordinances. They have a long way to go.

  • i have two chickens at home named twinkie and oreo! i love them to death and could never ever slaughter them! people who do are monsters! i love my chickens like family! thumbs up for twinkie and oreo!

  • @kbtoxicwaste87 jajaja and i bet you eat in KFC PSSS hypocrite!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sweetlips252 leave me alone i luv twinkie and oreo ur the hypocrite i dont even eat meat im a vegetarian and i vomit if i eat chicken true story i vomited on my third birthday when i first tried chicken

  • fit chickens

  • dont deed them composte its really bad for them.

  • It's good to see chickens living a good life outside, the way they were made to live and living it up until it's time to slaughter them. It's much better then how KFC and other slaughter houses, "Take care" of there chickens. My chickens are happy and get to roam around instead of being cramped in a pen with 50 other chickens.

  • Too many lame ordinances made by snobs.

  • bs local ordnance .. whats next no stepping on ants

  • bakbakbakbakb akbakbakabkabak

  • when i watch this all i can think of is ed edd n eddy

  • that one person who disliked is the troll! he eats cows!

  • Sounds like my aunt Sherri talking.

  • sweet

  • Thats kind of a bitch thing to do. Use them for eggs and then throw them out to get slaughtered. And just to let you all human vampires know, chicken contains salmonella think about that when you're eating chicken.

  • @leela194

Correction... live uncooked chicken may contain salmonella. Cooked chicken doesn't. Is salmonella a concern to you because you like to eat your chicken raw? You at least pluck the feathers first, right?

  • chickens never stop laying retart

  • Hold On! At 1:20-1:30 We cannot slaughter chickens in our own yards which makes total sense... um, no that doesn't make any sense at all! They are your chickens, and you are on your property. You should be able to take the chickens which don't produce anymore eggs as meat. What has this society come to.. even your expression saying it appears to be more opposed to the "ordinance" rather than for it.

  • @zokizoran The fuck?! WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT SHIT?! I used to slaughter chickens IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE back in Nueva Ecija, Philippines for dinner. Hit the head with a 2x4, slit the throat, drain the blood, skin it and take the intestines off. And off to the smokin' barbecue pit after washed. Mmmmmmmm-hmmm! Can't wait to go back.

"The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws."

    -Marcus Tullius Cicero

  • @zokizoran Does the same principle work for other domesticated animals? If, for instance, I had a guard dog that ceased to be useful as a guard, am I then entitled to slaughter it for meat ( Let's suppose for the sake of this thought experiment that this sort of activity is perfectly legal, so that the answer is not bound by legal constraints)? I'm just curious to know what you understand to be the relationship between domesticated animals and the people who own them.

  • @zokizoran Also, the video isnt loading for me, so perhaps there is something Im missing thats relevant to my question. If so, please let me know. And finally, my previous question assumes that you would hold your position even if this action were illegal: that is, that a person should be able to slaughter their own animals on their own property when those animals cease to be serve their role, and that it would be inappropriate for there to be a law legislating against such activity; (cont.)

  • @zokizoran hence the stipulation. If this assumption is wrong, please specify.

  • @zokizoran It's a shame that we live in a "politically correct" society.

  • @zokizoran Sadly its worse.... The HOA wont allow us and many Americans to even have chickens on your property at all! Were not even allowed to have a vegetable garden!

  • @legomation24 thats crazy

  • @zokizoran What you just said makes no sense. Slaughtering of animal property - dogs, cats, chickens, whatever - is not something that civilians should be doing. That is the job of farmers, butchers, and any other qualified people. You want to eat your non-laying chicken? Fine, ask your local butcher to do it for you. This is not a moral issue (though judging from your callous response, it should be), it is a practical and safety/hygiene issue.

  • @Futumch Why do you think civilians should not be allowed to? 30 years everyone was capable, now suddenly you think the average folk is pathetic and sheep in the more modern world. Or would paying some sort of government tax justify the ability to do so? Perhaps we should call an electrician every time we needed to change a light bulb, or pay a landscaper to mow our grass? They're qualified.. I hope there aren't too many people that think like you and I hope you're not eating dogs or cats :S

  • @zokizoran Ever hear of salmonella? What about proper disposal of animal corpses? Maggots? Do the numerous mandated minimum standards relating to hygiene of a slaughterhouse ring any bells? What about legislated humane methods of animal slaughter? That you could ignore all these issues by implying that the alternative is some kind of "butcher tax" just highlights your ignorance, and the lightbulb comparison is laughably irrelevant. Comparing a light change to proper killing of an animal... Wow.

  • @Futumch It's a Chicken for Christ sakes, not a horse! lol

  • @zokizoran Did I say anything about the size of the livestock being an issue? I thought not. You'd make a great debater, you know. The council of this guy just probably doesn't want to get sued because they allowed people to slaughter their own livestock (which includes chickens) in disrespect to say, the Humane Methods of Livestock Slaughter Act or any number of other laws about health or animal rights. Or maybe they don't want unhealthy and unhygienic chicken slaughter? MAYBE.

  • @zokizoran u think the city wants guts and blood in a public place, what if the neighbors 2 year old came over while u were slaughtering it? (kinda funny concept) AND after u clean it up, the smell? plus the chicken would screach while u hold it down making it sound like a murder XD

  • @zokizoran u think the city wants blood and guts in a public place? what if the neighbors 2 year old came over when u were slaughtering it? (kinda a funny concept with 2 year old XD) and it would screech while u held it down, so, yeah not the best thinking

  • @857gamer Private property is just that. Private. A person's private home, in city limits or not, is not a public place. If the neighbor's two year old walked into your yard unsupervised that would be an issue with parenting of the child. I doubt you get more mess (besides extra feathers) from a home slaughtered chicken then you do a whole one fresh from the grocery. (Mine comes with the guts and bits from the grocery anyway) They should be able to do as they please with their chickens.

  • @zokizoran That is why the Americans these days are completely clueless

  • watch?v=S15-uBrYV-k

  • Those look like Buff Orpingtons? Very nice hens.

  • @jwlrymkr They look like Golden Comets to me.

  • i hates chickens. They done scared me when i wuz a lil feller. They done got me in the farmyard & pecked me. So now i eats chicken whenever i can, & i chew really hard. While i’m chewin’, i believes the damn chicken can feel me bitin' him, & i can hear the damn thing squawkin' away. i likes that,... almost as much as i likes meetin’ Pastor Bill in the back room to let him feel my potatoes.

  • I Got some chickens today as soon as i put shredded paper in their coop 1 went in and laid an egg soon after, i have a worm farm so i gave them a small pile of worms also some baby spinach bannana and a peeled apple and some grains tommorows eggs should be good im suprised 1 laid an egg so quick hopfully the stress of a new house doesnt halter their egg production for tommorow becuase i love the taste of these eggs they have shit all over the backyard i can tell its good stuff for the lawn :))

  • i love chickens

  • Comment removed

  • cool not

  • cool not.

  • @NOVS12 for dinner?

  • @NOVS12 ME TOO!! Especially baked!! MMmmmMM chicken breasts....

  • nawwww <3 so kawaiii

  • Im getting chickens from a friend, the eggs taste so good compared to the crap from the supermarket.

Recently ive improved my diet in a huge way and eat alot more fruits and vegetables, for awhile i didnt eat meat i shed the weight off and started feeling run down i know theres specific things you can eat instead of meat like nuts and oils but i could never feel fully satisfied unless there was some meat in it im personally going to aim at a 80% vegetable diet, some days ill eat more some less.

  • Some frequently used medical products made from beef by-products include trypsin (for cleansing wounds and ulcers), corticotrophin (for treating allergies, arthritis and respiratory diseases), iron (for treating anemia), thrombin (for blood coagulation), and a huge range of other valuable pharmaceutical products.

  • i LOVE chikens!!

  • thats right teach your kids that chickens are for us to do as we will ,WRONG, learn them compassion, and to respect them, your using them to your own selfish needs, shame on you

  • @debvegandeb So, you think it is selfish to eat? By the way "SELFISH NEEDS" is an oxymoron...a NEED can't be considered SELFISH. These animals were placed on this planet to provide meat for us to eat in order to survive. As were the plants. Eating meat is no more cruel than eating vegetables.

  • @debvegandeb If you would rather starve, then go ahead. There is no shame in teaching your kids to get food the honest, natural way. In-compassionate would mean getting your food from industries that torture the animals...that is obviously not happening here.

  • @FindingSummer no compassion surely means not to murder a sentient creature that wants to live, just like you or i, rather starve? i dont take part in explioting animals and guess what , ime still living, i have 10 times as many chickens living with me(ex cruelty battery hens) and i do understand their personalities and want for life, something i wish herbivore humans cannot seem to open their mind to, are we really murderers,?

  • @debvegandebThe medical world relies on beef by-products for many life saving or life improving medications and treatments. Our bodies can easily accept a medication or treatment made with beef by-products. Although some medical products and treatments are made from synthetic ingredients, many are still made more economically from beef cattle, thus helping to keep the cost of our health care down.

  • @7378AA i can see your up on your stuff, but when you think of the ailments that you have mentioned , i believe a lot of these are caused in the first place by our diets that are derived from dairy/ meat, and youve got me thinking about car tyres, ime on to that now, and thanks for bringing it up, i will get back to you if I find a vegan tyre,

  • @debvegandeb i didn't mention ailments caused by animal products, I was pointing out the medical benefits they provide. Many of our dietary issues come from processed and refined foods. Vegetable shortening is worse for you than animal shortening. It is a proven fact that the human body can break down animal fat more effectively than it can vegetable fat. My grandparents are in there 90s and have been eating meat and animal products their whole life.

  • @7378AA then why do we cook meat, if it were natural then our digestive system would represent that of a fox (a true carnivore), our is built of that of a herbivore, i know you and i could argue that our parents live long lives, but meat is full of saturated fat, which can clog arteries, heart attacks, obesity, there has been a lot of talk where we live saying we need a more vegan diet to stay healthy, some top athletes are vegan, again when flesh is cooked it really just becomes a substance

  • @debvegandeb the same question whey do we cook vegetables. I love cooked veggies! I love a good steak with my veggies. Name a top athlete who is vegan. All of the health problems you named are linked to processed foods, like soda, processed breads and pretty much any "junk food". Cooked meat serves as a fabulous source of high quality proteins, which a single vegetarian food is not able to provide. It contains all the essential amino acids that the body requires. You need to do more research. =)

  • @7378AA Brendan Brazier (Triathlete) Molly Cameron (Cyclist) Robert Cheeke (Professional bodybuilder) Bryan Danielson (professional wrestler) Mac Danzig (professional mixed martial arts fighter) Tony Gonzalez (former) (American football player) Scott Jurek (Runner) Carl Lewis Mike Mahler (body-builder) Ricardo Moreira (Professional Mixed Martial Arts Fighter) John Salley (professional NBA player) Salim Stoudamire (Professional NBA Player) Taryn Terrell (wrestler)[57] Mike Tyson (boxer)[217]
  • @debvegandeb Mike Tyson eats meat. If you look into some of the supplements they take have animal products in them. The truth is no matter how a person chooses to eat, beef cows and other animals are being utilized all around us in our everyday needs, not is just foods. I think its great if people want to be vegan or vegetarian, but should realize the facts over emotion. =)

  • @7378AA I admit emotions and compassion is what started me off, but i would like you to answer this for me, please, where does a cow and a horse and an elephant get its b12 from for example , first hand B12 , eating its flesh gives us second hand B12, WHERE ARE OUR CLAWS AND THANGS , how come our digestive system is not short to digest rotting flesh like a fox,

google this, (are humans carnivores or herbivores) and see for yourself,

  • @debvegandeb Meat-eaters: have claws

    Herbivores: no claws

    Humans: no claws

Meat-eaters: have no skin pores and perspire through the tongue

    Herbivores: perspire through skin pores

    Humans: perspire through skin pores

Meat-eaters: have sharp front teeth for tearing, with no flat molar teeth for grinding

Herbivores: no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding

Humans: no sharp front teeth, but flat rear molars for grinding

  • @debvegandeb Meat-eaters: have intestinal tract that is only 3 times their body length so that rapidly decaying meat can pass through quickly

Herbivores: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.

Humans: have intestinal tract 10-12 times their body length.

Meat-eaters: have strong hydrochloric acid in stomach to digest meat

Herbivores: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater

Humans: have stomach acid that is 20 times weaker than that of a meat-eater

  • @debvegandeb We're neither carnivores nor herbivores, we're omnivores!

  • @xLovebirdx we are not omnivores by true nature, we cannot digest flesh blood face and bone without cooking and grinding it up with a false instrument, we could not kill it either with our bare hands, and adding spices and herbs to make it taste passable.

  • @debvegandeb Then where would we get vitamin B12? We don't make it, and it's only found in animal products.

  • @xLovebirdx no its not, animals dont make it either, they get it from plants, and thats where we get it from , or we should do, many soya products have B12 in them, and they are vegan, so work that one out, first hand protein is where animals get if from plants, humans who eat meat are getting it second hand

  • @debvegandeb Animals do NOT get it from plants. Vitamin B12 is made by bacteria. Herbivorous animals have said bacteria in their gut which is how they get and store it. We get it through consuming those types of animals. Take a basic nutrition class before you talk about vitamins.

  • @xLovebirdx we need a very small amount of B12, and it is found on plants, BUT i agree with that commercial farming and strict rules on cleaning everything on producing plant based foods spoils the source for B12, meat eater can lack B12, animal and us do produce it in our intestines, and been 100% clean does not help , mushrooms, unwashed plants, and seaweed is a natural source to obtain B12, i dont eat meat eggs and milk for 30 years and i am still well and healthy so what more can i say

  • @debvegandeb Meat-eaters: salivary glands in mouth not needed to pre-digest grains and fruits.

Herbivores: well-developed salivary glands which are necessary to pre-digest grains and fruits

Humans: well-developed salivary glands, which are necessary to pre-digest, grains and fruits

  • @debvegandeb check out the posts i have put on for you ,thanks

  • @debvegandeb I will check it out. The arguments can go either way, truth is if we were not supposed to eat meat we would not. I'm not going to tell someone what they can and cannot eat. I'll keep eating my meat, animals treated well of course and all my vegetables too! Eating organic fruits, vegetables and meat is a very healthy way to live. Anything processed is not so good. My choppers do pretty good devouring flesh. Heath advise changes everyday. Give it 5 minutes and it changes again.

  • @7378AA It's impossible to be a vegan because if you drive a car, you're using fossil fuels.

  • The red meat contains very high quantities of iron, when compared with plant origin foods. 100 grams of Liver contains 6000 mcgm of iron as against 325 mcgm in 100-gram carrots. Read further to explore information about the advantages of eating meat…

  • The phosphorus content present in meat gets much more easily absorbed than that present in cereals and legumes. This is owing to the fact that cereals and legumes contain phosphorus, usually in the form of phytic acid that must be hydrolyzed before absorption. Meat also serves as the main source for the intake of vitamin B12.

  • @debvegandebAutomobile and bicycle tires contain stearic acid, which makes the rubber hold its shape under continuous surface friction. Even the asphalt on our roadways contains a binding agent derived from the fat of beef cattle.

  • @FindingSummer no there were not, we are not carnivores or omnivores, and thats a fact, i dont eat animals, so there for its not necessary to take a life , which most children could understand, I think the taste is the only reason you could justify that taking an animals life is worth it , so selfish does come into it, again i have been vegan for 20 years and guess what ime fit, so that is not true, i am human and you are made the same, way apart from i dont condone taking a life unnecessarily

  • @debvegandeb death is a natural part of life. Humans eating meat is just as natural. Humans have been eating meat since our existence. You may be a vegan but you still use animals. We normally associate beef as being part of a satisfying meal. However, because 99% of the beef animal is utilized, items manufactured from beef by-products are all around us. Yogurt, car tires, drywall and a variety of medicines all contain a beef by-product.

  • @7378AA just because we have been killing animals for food for many years doesn't mean its, rights, how come i couldn't kill an animal, because its not in my nature, millions of people couldn,t kill an animal not when you see and know you dont need to eat it, i humans have killed&exploited humans and animals for thousands of years , but it doesn't make it right. we now can obtain products without using animal by products so thats the way for now a civalized sociely, are you a murderer

  • @debvegandeb I hunt and fish and always will. It is not murder, it is the natural order of things. If you drive a car you are using dead cows in your tires. The truth is humans have been so far removed from the land that they have lost all connections to nature. Death is nothing to be afraid of if utilizing animals for food. I respect animals especially the ones I hunt. You may see it as murder but I grew up on a farm and took care of animals and we harvested them for food as well.

  • @7378AA thankyou for all your replies, ive just read somewhere that 1 in 25 people will never have the ability to open up their moral conscience, and i was in same boat as you, brought up on farm dad as a butcher, but one day something hits you, and its like awakening to some kind of conscience, its like i totally see others in a different light, the more we make it exeptable to use animals, people do exploit them more in other areas factory farms, fur etc, so the problem explodes, small change

  • CHICKENS!!!!!CUTE!!!!!!!im getting some this months

  • Can't slaughter them in your yard, and this "makes sense"? Ahm......why? What's the harm?

  • @homeostasis4me well your not a vet or farmer so your not a professional so its qualified as animal cruelty

  • @superninga111 Hmmm....one has to be a FARMER to raise and slaughter food for his family? What a complete idiot you are! And, exactly what is "a professional", HMMMM? I was....wait for it...RAISED ON A FARM. Been keeping, slaughtering, and eating these birds all my life. Fuck you.

  • @homeostasis4me lol im sorry i guess i said it the wrong way, i mean DetNewsVideo, it's just i heard that people torture the cow when they slaughter them and i heard it's quilified as animal cruelty so i figured that its the same for chickens. lol sorry i made it a little rude.

  • @superninga111 No, I'M sorry for being over-sensitive; no reason for me to use such language. Sorry....peace.

  • I kill my chickens to eat, not to sell!!!

Whoever says that is wrong is stupid.

  • @molinobeer Most of the folks who feel killing your own food is wrong think milk is made in a factory some where....personally, I feel that it's one of life's greatest hipocracies to eat meat but not take part in the slaughter of the animal. Eating meat requires the death of a living thing, and until you personally take that life and prepare that meal you really have no business posting an opinion, IMHO.

  • @molinobeer I'd also like to add for those who read this post that keeping chickens is a very, very rewarding hobby which requires very little work and time. The social interactions between the birds is super cool. Watching chickens scratch is as relaxing as anything I have ever experienced; these birds become like pets. You give them table scraps and a coop and they give you POTENT fertilizer and eggs....meat, too. Keeping yardbirds is really, really cool. And EASY as hell.

  • nice chickens.
