Edelweiss like the Sound of Music it's self take all the things in life that are simple and sweet and good and makes them poignant and heartwarming. There are many reasons why the movie and show are classics....This song is one of them.

when I was applying to different families to be an aupair there was one from Austria. They explained that they lived near the famed house used in The Sound of Music. She then went on to say that the movie was kitchy and silly. I was highly offended! I didn't respond back to her. Mostly because I'm a flake but really that turned me off. That movie is the best.
