  • wogsland, that hand symbol on your shirt has connections to Luciferianism. In fact, many progressives use that hand gesture. It is amazing how much propoganda is out there isn't it?

  • True Libertarians need to infiltrate the corrupt 2 party system like Ron Paul, Rand Paul, and Peter Schiff are doing. A third party will never have enough time to win a major election and America's time is running very low. Conservatives in the past were anti-war, so we need to bring neocon supports back to those old school principles.

  • Bob Barr made mistakes, most obvious the Liberty Act, but the man has made mistackes and has said himself he has done so. I fully understand where you come from here however I feel people can change. The best thing for the Libertarian party would be if Ron Paul would have run after not getting the Rep nominee.

Georgia Libertarian candidate for Gov. 2010 John Monds is a straight forward guy and I think youll have trouble arguing with him. So vote John Monds

  • Bob Barr is a slimy subhuman piece of crumbly excrement. I used to consider myself a Libertarian, but to my astonishment the geniuses of the party nominated Bob Barr. Out of 300,000,000 people in this country they couldn't do any better than that. When I called the party apparatchicks to complain, they lied and said he had changed. I think they were smoking a big hooter before their convention.

  • Way too long to make a horrible point. Hillary Clinton campaigned against civil rights for African Americans in the 60s but claims she changed her mind after seeing MLK speak. Is that too impossible as you say here in this video? Is our Secretary of State a racist because it's impossible to educate yourself and have a change of heart and/or mind?

  • Not on all the social conservative and miliaristic issues Barr heavily supported. I mean an issue or area or two, yes. But not a whole host or areas. He's just sucking their d&CK b/c he lost.

  • Can people change their minds?

    Yes.

    Did Bob Barr?

Not likely. I was not under that impression before the election, even though he seems to be pushing some libertarian ideas even as of last check after the election...

  • Dude this is another great vlog by you. I think you should see the documentary America's Drug War the last white hope. The title is sketchy, but it sheds light on the massive spending in the drug war. What a waste. So much waste in the federal government it sucks.

  • I'm a proud registered Libertarian and it's beliefs. But I agree with you, I didn't vote for Bob Barr because I don't have a short memory. After he supported bills and helped them pass, he says "oops, my bad. I guess I shouldn't voted for that". He's done that on numerous occasions. But don't bash the entire party or it's belief system on 1 man. Every party has their flaws but all should have their chance.

  • Barr has said he has changed...maybe there was just no one better in the minds of the LP. And parties usually don't control presidents.

  • But no the LP sould not die, it needs to figure out that it needs to win local elections, and state elections before the presidential elections are even a possibility, sure we can nominate someone but don't throw all of that money away. The LRC (Libertarian reform caucus) wants the party to become more realistic instead of presidential pipe dreams so don't give up on us just yet.

  • Its a party - it will be better off dying than living while corrupting the image of the principles it claims to stand for. Because this way they are making sure no one trusts libertarians any more than the rest.

  • I've actually changed my mind since I posted my original comment I do think the LP is going to die and should.

  • I think Barr has changed. And if in theory he becomes president, the Libertarian Party will hold him to standards

  • Since when do parties control presidents?

  • Also if Chuck was to win, you know Paul would be vice-pres atleast. Barr is not the man guys. He has voted for the Patriot act, the Iraq war and No child left behind even if he changed his stripes his judgement seems too questionable for my taste. . .

  • I just wanted to say as a libertarian, I'm not endorsing Bob Barr, I don't think he's principled enough and something tells me Barr is just being pushed on libertarians to dilute our message. If you are a real libertarian you're not too concerned with the party a man represents. His principles are what matters

    Chuck Baldwin 08'. . . because a write-in for Paul is a waste.

  • Lol Chuck Baldwin "The pre-born child, whose life begins at fertilization, is a human being created in God's image. The first duty of the law is to prevent the shedding of innocent blood." Yeah that in NO WAY is proof of him being religious right. Lmao, you're joking right? "God's image" ... Whether pro-life or pro-choice ... he's still bringing religion into it and last I checked thats not libertarian

  • so true, so true

  • @reddjames79

bringing religion into what???? he is not be allowed to have his own personal opinion. don't be so silly! we all have are own personal beliefs, about this and that. whether they exist in our mind because of a religious belief, or any other influence or philosophy, what does it matter?? who the hell cares if he believes we are created in God's imagine?? the important thing is that ( unlike barr) he has always loyally stood by dr. paul and stood against big government.

  • I see this as a perfect opportunity! We beat that republican so bad that we made him go research what the hell is really going on. Once he learned he fought long and hard for many years trying to help the cause. Check out my channel! I think we have alot more in common than you realize! Peace!

  • You should really research Barr some more. He has spent his own money for years trying to correct his mistakes. He is not the man you saw him as. Its like he actually woke up!

  • Libertarians are just ashamed-republicans-in-hiding with an extra dose of greed thrown into the mix.

  • you have no clue what your talking about.. libertarians are people who believe in pro choice, gay rights, legalize drugz, basically all social issues are liberal and they stand for true change and reform of gov't making it pre 1860 in size.. republicans spend just as much as democrats do they just tax less which makes the nat'l debt increase faster. but the only true ideology of change is libertarianism.. or communism.. with obama we already get socialism. libertarians are our founding fathers

  • In the sidewalk smoking area outside the Sheraton bar the night he was nominated Barr did not flinch from a barrage from the likes of Ernie Hancock and Berry Hess . I said I was reassured to see him smoking a cigar . He replied one of his first acts would be to lift the embargo on Cuba . I didn't vote for him on any round but I think he's come a long way and is surrounded by many solid libertarians . I will vote for him rather than write in Paul .

  • to each his own

    (I'll be writing in Paul)

  • write in is thrown away vote barr or baldwin

  • In 1998, Barr gave the keynote speech at the national convention of the Council of Conservative Citizens; a hate group that routinely denigrated blacks as "genetically inferior," complained about "Jewish power brokers," called homosexuals "perverted sodomites," and accused immigrants of turning America into a "slimy brown mass of glop."

  • I donated to get Barr booted from office. His record was pro-liberty while in congress the big exception being the drug war. (Liberty Magazine 2002).

"It's very rare to find someone who's willing to change their position and then be so public about it. [Barr has] definitely increased the credibility of the Marijuana Policy Project. People have to take us seriously when we walk through the door with Bob Barr." -Rob Kampia, Executive Director, Marijuana Policy Project, May 2008

    I support Barr!

  • I wouldn't really call the "Defense" of Marriage Act pro-liberty, either.

  • yes the two party system is broken .. we need to get bob barr 5 percent so that in 2010 libertarians can be a force

  • If you think that people can't change, Sir you are quite mistaken. I am a former republican who has TOTALLY changed & am now a lifetime member of the Libertarian Party & a former vice-chairman of the local Libertarian Party. I believe Bob Barr HAS CHANGED & I will do EVERYTHING I CAN to help get him elected.

  • I've looked at his positions on his website again today. He does not plan to end drug prohibition, end corporate welfare, get rid of the income tax, lower the military budget or a host of other things I would consider libertarian concerns. All I see are bland, nonspecific pronouncements against pork barrel spending, foreign interventionism and the nanny state - steps in the right direction, but a long way from libertarianism. And then there's his anti-immigrant pandering. What's to vote for?

  • If you want to see what there is to vote for watch Bob Barr's hour long interview on the Glenn Beck show.

  • i agree 100 percent i love bob barr now. i have changed a lot of the years and we need to get bob barr over 3 percent so we can put the libertarians on the map. we need freedom and we cant have obama and mccain get votes. we need to all vote for 3rd parties. i love bob barr i think he has changed, lets vote for him.. vote third parties end the two party monopoly on the control of government

  • Alan...you sound like a righteous man who dares to think for himself. Keep up the good work & help to change our country while we still have a country to change.

  • well what are your ideas littlejeffmo? i just know our country is broken and our dollar is collapsing. we need to do something radical now

we new a total new direction

  • After being involved with the republicrats for many years I realize now that they are both corrupt. I mean, look at what the republicans did to Ron Paul. Here is a man that should be leading the republican party & they did everything they could to demonize him. My suggestion to every righteous person in this country is to get involved with the Libertarians. The Libertarian Party believes in TRUE freedom to live your life however you'd like as long as you do NOT hurt anybody else.

  • This is stupid political pandering by wanna be special third partyers. If we are to keep our wonderful country we must pool the third party resources and renew the system. I really don't want to see gas riots or revolution in the USA. Barr is rather moderate and very popular for a third party. Maybe he has seen the light, by the way. You don't know, all you have is accusations from a decade ago. Don't be the cause, be the solution. BOB BARR FOR PRESIDENT!!!

  • I was hoping for Mary Ruwart. I heard her speak at the National convention (on c-span). I was hoping that she would win the candidatacy, however the other speeches were inspiring as well that convinced me to vote for the LP. I'm voting for Barr. If he dosen't uphold the LP principles, well I don't think we'll see him in any other race. I just hope he doesn't harm the party.

  • He seems to have reversed his opinions, I just don't know who else to fucking vote for. What a mess! What would you say, Mr. Wogsland?

  • Secession.

    Peaceful independence through secession.

  • Abraham Lincoln.

All that changed with Abe Lincoln. =P

  • Would that it hadn't.

  • i disagree with you,. you are an idiot we have to get rid of the two party system. i have great ideas to change our country back to a confederation of states and end representative government and vote for proportional rep in the house. end all pork and end fema. end the income tax and put us back on gold standard and end the drug war.

  • Check out the constitution party's nominee, chuck baldwin. He's way more libertarian than Barr and has a spotless reputation. He will return the power back to the states, work to end the income tax, end the war, SHRINK THE FED!

    Baldwin2008dotcom

  • I'm trying to tell these guys man. Don't be fooled by labels, if it's anything you guys should have learned from Paul's message is that principles are what matters. The founding fathers didn't even want parties. Party labels are a good way to divide and dilute the message of a certain sector of people who have common beliefs. Think about it all you have to do is give a guy a label and he can represent that label anyway he chooses, and dilute a message if he chooses. America wake up already!

  • For fairness sake, weed isnt the most significant value of our day, nor of the libertarian party.

  • True, but it was an issue the LP campaigned against their current nominee with. Ask Barr about gay marriage or government secrecy if you want to see some of his anti-libertarian views on more mainstream issues.

  • Calling him as we speak...

  • As a true blue laissez-faireist, I too am disappointed by the Libertarian Party. :-(

  • I won't be voting libertarian in this election, nor ever, until they get their act together and have a consistent and cohesive set of principles underlying their platform. Barr is far too inconsistent in principles and is a bad fit for any truly libertarian platform. So I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment.

  • I haven't voted for a Libertarian since '02 - the people running are generally self important individuals rejected by the other parties.

  • Well, I guess the calculations need to focus on the objectives. Is the objective to maintain a consistent, pure, philosophical point of view, or, is it to have a meaningful impact on the process. Ralph Nader (pthuh! I spit every time I say his name) had an impact, alright. He delivered the presidency to George Bush which has been the biggest catastrophe since Lyndon Johnson. Well, OK, since Nixon.

    Bob Barr is creepy.

  • Or Ross Perot in 1992,

    Or Teddy Roosevelt in 1912.

It would be nice if our voting system took into account more advanced mathematics than basic addition. A simple ballot ranking candidates - if no candidate gets a majority look at the 2nd choices of people whose 1st choice got the fewest votes. If still no majority then look at the 2nd choices of those who voted for the candidate with the 2nd fewest votes. Iterate until somebody gets a majority.

  • Oh, no doubt, Bill Clinton owes plenty to Ross Perot as Wilson did to TR. As for ranking ballots, ooo man, imagine all the Florida complications THAT would bring! We couldn't even add one at a time, imagine iterative voting!

  • he's a lobbyist now for the marijuana policy project.

  • Decriminalization and legalization are two different things though...

  • He's a Reagan Republican with a strong religious right voting record.

The party's going for numbers instead of principles, giving the worst of the GOP someone to vote for instead of McCain. The people he draws agree about tax reductions, but that's about the extent of the similarities with the Libertarian platform.

Bottom line: We're getting a socialist Democrat for a president, and everybody seems to be conspiring to guarantee it.

  • I don't think Barr will get more than a couple percent in any state though.

  • Bob Barr is creepy looking. How's that for intellectual commentary?

  • And yet such an important factor for way too much of the electorate.
