they are very sweet tempered cats, loving and cuddly in spite of only having 'baby-fuzz'. they feel like a suede hot water bottle. Sounds like the perfect cold weather kitty to keep your toes warm!

my cat has fur but he has also has a bald spot on his tummy that just started. im trying not to be too concerned cause its not bothering him and the skin looks healthy. are saimese cats linked to the sphynx? they do look similar.

The sphynx actually originated in canada as silly as that might seem :) but if you research it.. you'll see. it was a natural mutation of the genes not one of adaptation.

Actually this is a Canadian Hairless Sphynx. It has no ties all all to Egypt. This breed was started in the 1960s when a Breeder in Toronto Canada had 1 kitten with no fur due to a genetic mutation and mated it with with it's mother until more hairless cats where produced. From there he merely increased the gene pool size over time with an expanding process. It's a common belief that sphynx cats come from Egypt, but ask any breeder and they will set you straight.

i just cought up on sphynx history. they sprung up all over the world because of a gene mutation. The american breed is actually an imported european breed. Maybe it is better they arn't from egypt.they would have to wear sunblock all the time.but the name sphynx is quite misleading in that way.

btw: Cosmmo rules i hope he grows realy old :)

@jinxeybaby that's such crap. Okay, maybe Dutch and German, to a foreigner will sound alike. But if you listen closely you will notice some differences. Sweedish is totally different from either language, that's rediculous. Not trying to be hostile, but it's not cool for us Europeans to be compared to each other all the time, or people from different parts of the world being like: they're all the same anyway. Take some interest in us and maybe you will be able to hear the difference.

@raoul4free Sweety, i am belgian :D I know people don't hear the difference between our languages. I also know that we are very different and that i couldn't talk sweedish to save my life :) . People who do not know a language can hear the differences but can't make out wich language they are hearing. You can't neither. If you hear chinese or japanese you will only be able to make out the difference if you hear words or sounds you know to be chinese or japanese. Like' ni hou' (or something)
