On the 1st advert, look at the girls face at 00:01! It might sound man but I found that slightly sinister. lol XD
Big fan of that Hula Hoop ad right there! Cab Calloway is a legend! =D
The guitar in the Lucozade advert was very funky but I loved it! Sounded like "Knights of Cydonia" but it's still very awesome. Love the Jaspers advert too, VERY funky animation!
They're quite a distinctive type of canvas shoes, the three kids dancing in the toy cars adverts are wearing them. Wouldn't normally notice what footwear people are wearing but I picked up on it in a few earlier clips and since then I've noticed practically everyone is wearing them, especially in the ads that are trying to be "hip"
Did Converse have some sort of agreement with advertisers in the 80s? Everyone seems to be wearing them in these clips! I still wear them now so I'm obviously stuck in the 80's
Completely unrelated to the content of all the ads I've been uploading, but I'd love to know what causes all those little funny squares on my ADARCHIVE clips during sudden scene changes. They're definitely NOT present on the WMV video files I use to upload to YouTube :(
I think they have to do with the uploading - video files seem to experience a drop in quality when they are uploaded. I have been noted of this by somebody who enquired about one of the video files I've been uploading lately.
I remember that Fruit Jaspers ad too!!! I haven't seen that in years, thanks Paul. I don't remember Team. I saw Belinda Lang in the Guardian ad. The other actors I don't know.
The man singing the Hula Hoops song was the great jazz legend Cab Calloway (1907-94). I don't what he would made about his image being used to sell snacks though!
The lovely Georgia Allen among the guests in the Kodak ad.

All in all, another great selection of ads!

Hmmm... Hornby "Car Parts". I somehow wish they had a U.S. counterpart then. All we had then was Micro Machines!

Sorry Jodamu, but I'm a bit in the dark here. Who or what are Converse? I'd love to know!

I remember the Hula Hoops ad. That ad freaked me out for some reason.

It scared me too. It might have been our ages at the time (although I don't know how young you were in 1989). I was only four.

Spotted Belinda Lang of 2.4 Children among other shows in the Guardian ad - the other actors in the ad are familiar somehow though.

I remember Beranrd Matthews' Mini Kievs, Fairy Powder, Sealink, and Team (I think).
The music on the McVitie's Fruit Jaspers is Tom Tom Club's "Genius Of Love" and the VO is by the ubiquitous Chris Tarrant.
Another excellent selection!
