@PotadoTomado It's not mate. You just have to take your time with it. And don't try and learn it without following some tutorials first.
I used to think Photoshop was hard to learn but it took me a month to impress myself and teacher with it. And that's only using it 3 days a week for an hour.
Lightwave on the other hand took me longer to learn and I'm still learning. But once I start using it I can't get off it.
help anybody why can't I select in modeler Its like their is a glitch or something I have the latest version its just my stupid selection tools especially points I click over and over and a point won't show up or one will show up in the wrong spot I right and left click and i get nothing I don't even get the lasso tool please help I am so frustrated
hmm interesting, i would buy lightwave, as ive got a very creative side of me, and it would be lots of fun, but i don't have almost 1,000 laying around to spend it on :(
Skilled ray-tracers (and musicians, etc.) always speak in a very boring voice. It makes it hard and boring to focus on it, although the topic itself might be interesting and the information of course very useful. Rob Hubbard for example is an amazing genius musician but his speech.. well, it's very tedious to try to listen to, although his stories are interesting. They should always hire a 'speaker-person' to do the speeches.
i run it great on my laptop. 1.8ghz 1Gig RAM. 256Vcard. Runs like a dream. I had 70.ooo polys on the screen at once two days ago and it was only slightly jumpy
Yeah it'll work with little or no problem but when you start rendering or even animating a big scene :( it kills my computer. & i'm running with a 3.4 ghz processor and 2 gigs of ram lol my computer gets very slow when i animate :)
I would suggest to switch to a dual core configuration.
Else you can lower the process priority, this way you can always do what you want.
As a Result CPU is working at full 100% but you're not limited to wait until it finishes...obviously depending on your actions the time to render will grow by a mean of 5% or more.

school gave me it for my macbook pro - i wanted it for the pc so i torrented it and u dont have to use the stupid dongle. too bad there wasnt a dongle patch so you dont have to use it on my macbook pro
lol Blender is an awesome 3D software because it is free and very open. Lightwave costs money. however, it is highly powerful in modeling and animating, Blender is great at that but since it is consintrated on the general aspect of 3D (including interactive) the modeling isn't as powerful
I prefer C4D, but this is one hell of a 3d program.

Uh, yeah. Lightwave is a professional quality program, blender is free and open source. That in itself should answer your question.

Thanks for the tutorials. I've been using LightWave for a while now, but there is nothing like a good video tutorial.

Read the manual and study for years. It won't happen over night. There's lots of tutorials on the Newtek page.
