  • lucky idn't let my pet rabbit see this...YOU MONSTERS!

  • im trying to get rabbits in my area what type of food should i use

  • Finally a usage for those damn tag alders :)

  • a newfie :D

  • can this work with string/yarn

  • Man your videos are really great, thanks for the info and tutorials!

  • I've never tailed snares like this before... just used picture cord or brass tied directly to the bender... what style of snare is this? looks like a twine / wire hybrid

  • Don't step on the rabbit run though, you'll get your scent on it and the rabbits won't run there anymore. space your legs over it so you don't disturb it, and tie your snare above it. like in the video.

  • I'm here because of the Hunger Games. I'm curious. :)

  • Is that wire?

  • @torontobills I'm actually wearing coveralls with a white sweat shirt...You can see the coveralls better in my "Snaring Rabbits-Field Dressing a Rabbit" vid.

  • @torontobills what are u? fashion police?

  • @torontobills How does hunting have anything thing to do with clothing? Anyways good vid and best of luck-

    Hogan

  • but where is the rabbit.?

  • satan uses razor wire.

  • 67 people are crying "STOP HURTING THE FWUFFY WITTLE BUNNIES!" at their computer screens.

  • ITS ELMER FUDD

  • hey im new to rabbit snaring(i do mostly deadfalls) and im curious... how the hell does it work! plz respond

  • i set one of these snares and regularly checked it and was not catching a thing the rabbits were avoiding my snare then while approaching one of my snares after almost a week of having it out there (i was checking it every day) i could see the ground was all messed up. A fox had eaten half of my rabbit out of the snare.

  • lol nice!!those Rabbits you never suspect to be hunted by a man in a tuxedo!good tactic=)

  • Nazareth, excellent choice

  • hello and thanks for a good video. I just wondered how likely is it that a rabbit will go on the same track twice

  • "im off to catch some rabbits '

  • are you a nun?

  • did u catch anything?

  • if its winter time the animal can lay for half a day on snow or freezing temperatures after trapped, more time left out , more chance of predation. Although, a proper trapping technique is to check all traps at first light the morning after trapping. If trapper is not prompt enough to check his traps early, then he doesn't deserve to be a trapper. He's lazy.

  • The rabbit will slowly walk through the narrow space like it usually does. They take the same paths regularly. The head goes through the snare loop and it slowly tightens on its neck. The rabbit may feel this happening and start to bound faster but it 's too late as the snare tightens more and does not loosen. Rabbit passes out approx. 10 seconds or so. Does not wake up. Its actually alot easier death than if the rabbit gets attacked by a coyote or bobcat.

  • some good Rabbitat.

  • will it kill the rabbit?

  • $25,000,000 reward to ANYONE who can say "rabbit habitat" 4 times quickly n not bite their frigging tongue!

  • @lourdevegeta you totally owe me >:)

  • how long can a rabit lay after its dead and still be good to eat?

  • but what baits do rabbits like?thank you

  • Comment removed

  • my question is... does this actually stop the rabbit and kill it?

  • hello and good video, but put it this way your lost in the wild and u got no bait what would you put for rabbits??????thank you

  • is this dude wearing a suit while making this vid , check out his cuffs

  • Comment removed

  • You sound like woody alan

  • the guys voice sounds cool

  • You have to be kidding me , it's Elmer Fudd Narrating ??? " Wascally Wabbits!!!!"

  • How does that catch a rabbit?

  • you forgot to put carots around the snare and theres a simpler way to get rabbits; put a fist sized rock on a trail, sprinkle the rock with pepper. lol

  • I GOT ALL THE NEIGHBOIRHOOD CATS CRAPPING IN MY SAND PILE, i GOING TRY THIS AND PRETEND THE CAts are rabits

  • @captkirkconnell get a thicker gauge snare for the cats and good luck.

  • What height off of the ground would you set the snare and how big in diameter should the snare be?

  • could you use guitar strings for the wire?

  • also, is there a vid of this after you caught something in it?

  • @timmay821 I would suggest setting it a bit higher off the ground...yes I made a video called "snaring rabbits- checking rabbit snares"

  • @northernpike56 thanks. but what if it was a hole in a fence or something? would you still use the stick? or could you use the fence as an anchor?

  • i did this, and the thing just went through it. any suggestions?

  • haha stupid wabbit.

  • Or you use brass wire!!1!!!!

  • i appreciate your post! Excellent instruction!

  • i tried this and its just not working i cant find any path that has a narrow part so i have been just hanging them where i can on the path if the rabbit see it will it just simply go around?

  • @outdoorkid12829 you have to train your rabbit

  • i like the idea going out setting rabbit snare dressed in suite, white shirt =]

    real professional in every inch

  • could a cat get snared?

  • Woooooooooo! He said Slipknot! Maggots forever.

  • do you have to have a trapping licenese to set those not on your property cuz i dont want to get in trouble with the DNR!

  • @NandMscape Your best bet is to contact your local DNR...they can provide any answer to questions you may have...Laws differ from region to region.

  • dude are you in idaho

  • @callofpaperguns

Yeah he's in Idaho Canada. Jesus..

  • @NandMscape depends on where u live

  • u catch anything?

  • sorry if this sounds like nub question...how do you actually make the wire circle??

  • @cianw10 all questions are good questions...check out my video "Making a rabbit snare" may help...

  • @cianw10 first, you get wire and bend a loop in it, then wrap the acess wire around its self and put the other end through the loop, then when you pull the wire string it pulls tight :] or a simple slipnot works for me

  • @northernpike56 thanks very much pal, very good video and iv been catching all kinds of tasty treats with the knowlage, iv always hunted but never learnt how to snare. if you have a bad day shooting set some snares and at least you have breakfast

  • Elmer fud ?

  • But When u put the Twigs in the snare won't that make the rabbit suffer more and die slower

  • aswoum

  • Good shit man, that's how its done

  • thanks for passing on the skills that everyone else forgets

  • great video!!

  • thanks mate awsome

  • Did you have a dinner? xD

  • are you wearing a suit?

  • lol love the choice of track for this video, watch out bugsy ''now your messing with a son of a bitch''

  • "Be vewy vewy quiet, I'm hunting wabbits" :)

  • how do u lock it in place

  • i use guitar strings to snare rabbits, it works supprisingly well

  • Thanks for the vid. I looke d it up a few weeks ago because I saw a heap of rabbits close to home (I live in Australia). The snare works alright. I set six and overnight 5 had caught rabbits. the only problem though was the rabbits can chew through the string. Also i set a few of mina along a fence line because it is easy to see where they go through and they were able to wear the string along the fecnce and wear it through. The bunnies are much stronger than I ever imagined.

  • don't forget to eat the brains and other organs

  • Wow. People are stupid. Great video man.

  • It's sad we can no longer hunt the Indians like the early colonists did in 18 and 19 th century. Hunting those big primates are more funny and exciting (and of course, more challenging) than dispatching these little bunnies. Now the savages are considered humans, even "citizens" (not to mention the nigger sitting in the White House)...

The world order has now been turned upside down. Really miss the old days...

  • kool video, i live about 10 mins walk from a large woods so im gona try this out. i think il make about 5 or 6 snares though just to increase my chances.

  • Nice Song!!

  • hey how many rabbits have you caught with that snare because im planing on making one

  • what are the chances of that actually snaring a rabbit?

  • ELMA FUDD :)

  • "Wabbit twacks, heres da wabbit, kill da wabbit. Pesty wabbit!" :-)

  • will string work too?

  • Man I love rabbit stew.

  • Your advice would be believed if you showed a rabbit caught in it. It doesn't look like it would work.

  • @koatzz refer to my video "snaring rabbits-checking rabbit snares"

  • @northernpike56

Thanks for the videos man, we got an overpopulation of snow hares here in NB Canada. so yea i'm gonna snare a few this winter. we have so many snow hares here that the lynx and bobcat are on the rise again. they even breeded and we got friggin hybrid cats now lol. I think nature can spare a few extra rabbits around here for me. i'll be lookin at a bunch of your vids in the next few days, i just found you. thanks man. peace.

  • @koatzz

Sorry, but rabbit snares work almost as well as a .22 rifle, he made this to help people, not trick them.

  • @facestomp88 I said nothing about tricks, you idiot!

  • @koatzz

You said it doesn't look like it would work. I was just saying he isn't fucking with you that it does work, calm the fuck down. Just go buy your meat from the grocery store and hopefully you will get a strain of salmonella.

  • @koatzz umm it works kuz rabits alwazy goe throgh the same trail b because it works like a nouce and strangles them to death ill show u a picek if ur tht sik u bastard exuse my language

  • @gunsandstuffmaker1q ummm...didn't pay attention when the three-R's were being taught, huh?

  • Thank your for all your videos they will definetly help in the long run dont let these nay sayers get you down your doing us all a favor keep the good work coming

  • i like your video does it really work tho and do u know how to snare squireels

  • Northern PIKE PA??? GREAT GAME UP THERE

  • haha the good ole' bow line knot. great know! :)

  • @bloodtrack12 knot* ._.

  • when i was really little we had a "wabbit" problem and i was reading my dads old books and wanted to make a snare, lol, i made one outta shooelaces and just tossed it on the ground flat. 2 days later i had a nice sized rabbit i been hooked ever since

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this video and show how to set a snare. Knowing how to set a snare like this might mean that someone can feed their family tonight or protect their garden, or both.

  • @BORROVAN26 Not a "BIG MAN" just tryin to pass on some knowledge...might save a life :-)

  • @northernpike56 Do you really think it'll be used for that? Kids round here will be after cats and allsorts.

  • @bluenail90 is that his problem ? or the parents of those kids ur thinking about!?

  • @BORROVAN26

You'll be glad you watched this video when the big truck stops bringing your tofu to the whole foods market. I for one am glad to be at the top of the food chain. When I see a rabbit, I see bbq wrapped in a pair of moccasins.

  • @BORROVAN26 I don't think he's trying to "show them". He's not doing it just to be mean, you dummy. Rabbits are good to eat. It's called hunting. People do eat animals they catch, hunt or farm raise.

  • @BORROVAN26 fuck you ya prick

  • @j0ehellm0n I'm sure you'd love to, but I don't go for manlove, unlike you and your redneck buddies. Now run along and have a circle jerk to the sound of Garth Brooks.

  • @BORROVAN26 eat shyt u fukin queer

  • Comment removed

  • @yabodmon @yabodmon You seem to know a lot about what 'fukin queers' do (although not about spelling, probably because you're a mentally subnormal redneck), that explains why you feel the need to kill things to compensate for your latent aggressive homosexuality. Must make you feel like a real man when you're out hunting' fishin' and shootin' with your big muscly buddies in your leather jackets. That is when you're not beating your wife or enjoying the taste of HOT CAWK

  • @BORROVAN26 eh man u got me all confused with with beating the wife and hot cawk thing lol.. u even have your own ways of spelling cock. ahaha im not a redneck or a homo for that matter but i do enjoy killing animals . got that queer !

  • @yabodmon turns out you're a fucking wigger! that's even worse than being an arse bandit.

  • @BORROVAN26 turns out ur an idiot ..would u like some pork with that?

  • @BORROVAN26 same generic msg from people like you. educate yourself you ahve know idea what its like trying to survive in certain parts of the globe. Must make you feel like a big man hiding behind a computer insulting about something you know nothing about. btw its not about feeling big its about suriving. Not everyone has the luxury of going to a grocery store. Now if you respond I guarantee it wont be intelligent

  • @BORROVAN26 another ignorant, high and might my shit done stink moron

  • @BORROVAN26 How do you think our ancestors caught food, have some respect you dickhead.

  • trailer park boys is such a good movie, this kitty smells like cigarettes, hes not supposed to smell like cigarettes, hes supposed to smell like a kitty

  • Northernpike. the best thing to do when u set a snare is get the equipment (like Wood And the snares) form a different area then the hunting side. and To put them together. and once u did that then go to hunting side. That way you dont Let the flued (that comes out of the wood) warning the Rabbit that Goes down the trial. and u leave the enivoriment in a Better state. Other then that it was a great vid.

  • hey northernpike56 i wanna get into trapping beaver and rabbit snaring. do you no any good ways to trap them in the summer time?

  • is willow good for this?

  • Please make another vid, you old ones are really good.

  • Rock music and hunting in suit what kind of survivalist is this puff.

  • No offense, but you sound like Bubbles off of trailer park boys or Elmer Fudd.

  • @toxic3n3rgy... you're the second person to say I sound like Bubbles...I'm only about 300 km from where the film the show, so that's probably why...I also often talk to Bernard Robichaud aka Cyrus (bad boy from the show) He's really a nice guy :-)

lol, I know I sound like Fudd...

  • @northernpike56 hey northernpike56 i wanna get into trapping beaver and rabbit snaring. do you no any good ways to trap them in the summer time? 1 second ago

  • @barbieslut6969 Summer time trapping isn't really suggested because rabbits rot fairly quickly after death.

  • knew you were a fellow maritimer:)

  • i used about the same thickness wire as you did. i set like 10 snares and like 6 or so were activated the next day... but they were broken. i could see the pull marks where the animal struggled... problem is i cant get much thicker wire without compensating for flexability

  • i used about the same thickness wire as you did. i set like 10 snares and like 6 or so were activated the next day... but they were broken. i could see the pull marks where the animal struggled... problem is i cant get much thicker wire without compensating for flexability

  • Oh man you remind me of Elmer Fudd

  • I'm 13 and a girl but I'm gonna catch me a wabbit, Elmer . I wonder what Cat Casserole tastes like...hmmm....

  • Retard

  • could you accidently catch a deer?

  • if you did the snare would just break because if you look at the difference in mucsle and weight compared to eachother the deer is alot stronger

  • are you a fucking moron? a deers head is bigger that a body of a rabbit and a deer wouldnt keep his head that low..

  • Nothing accidental on a rabbit snare, too small. HOWEVER, a Coyote snare, properly built, can and has caught small deer.

True snare-wire is 250-lb test stainless, with lockers and cams. Consider, if you can snare-set for 400-lb wild boar, you can catch deer.

  • Did you snare yourself and lose air to your brain? how can you catch a Deer? if it went around its foot it could would break, thats like saying can you catch an elephant with a mouse trap?

  • nice guide!!!! especialy the knot, I've wondered how to make that knot for a while ;). I'm gunna go get a few wascally wabbits, hopefully, anyway!

  • I recognise that voice, you're Elmer Fudd aren't you :o) Did you get that wascally wabbit?

  • Shhhh, I was tring to keep my identity a secret.

  • hahahaha ur so rite that sooo funny

  • can a cat get stuck on the snare ?

  • YES, never set your snares near residential areas...

  • lol i actualy snared a cat last summer :P

  • did u cook it?

  • no becouse it stinks lol it was laying there for abouth 2 days

  • gooh ribbih habbi tah XD

  • Are you part Indian? You're very good on this subject! Wow! I gotta try these

  • but a snare hmmmm no ..its not the best way..better use a airgun ..kwik and nice

  • @buschmaster1969 yeah if you want to sit around for 6 hours to see one. you dont have to watch traps. That is the benefit.

  • the guys sounds like bugs bunny

and why use a snare ....guns work

  • Because a trap can be out 24 hours a day and it takes a lot less effort. It also gets you meat that isn't full of bb's.

  • Don't forget that not everybody has a gun on them.. Or even owns a gun (I'm not an american)

  • Actually he sounds like fudd... It's perfect!

  • Awesome video! I'll be trying this on some cottontails on my land.

  • Can you use fishing line?

  • You can, but fishing line is very prone to abraisions, which weaken the line.

  • 80 pound test

  • Plus, fishing line would be a huge pain to try and prop up.

  • if i painted my snares white would that help? and if iput vegetable shaveings on the rabbit traks would that help?

  • It doesn't really matter if you colour the snare or not but veggies and what not would help but chopping down small jackpine tress for them to eat will do the trick but every little adjustment counts and it's also a learning experience. So try many different ways as you would like and see what works best ...

  • nope man the idea is that the rabbit is running down the trail n runs into the snare choking its self if u put food out it may eat the food n step around the trap n theres no need to put paint on it

  • Sorry dude am aboriginal and my grandmas been doing this her entire life and she still does shes 70 years old and thats the way she does it. feeding the rabits only attracts them to come out of there trails so either way they still might get caught in the snare. Am aboriginal and been hunting/trapping since I was 5 years old. So I should know a thing or too but needless to say people have there own way of doing things and I admire that good work though keep it up ....

  • When your going to skin a rabit first thing you want to do is break all it's four limbs both legs and arms at the knees and elbows, than from there cutopen itsstomach take out the guts, than peel the skin off it should come off fairly easy. Than cook it however you like it my grandmother always makes rabit soup with bannock it's the best with smoked tea! If anybody see's this comment reply back Maybe I should post a video if i get enough support to do it ....

  • @Peasker post a vid then send me the link threw youtube email i wana see u do it

  • Alright am convinced ill throw in somebeaver snares and martin traps if there is any tracks on the trapline ...

  • @Peasker can u send me the vid once its up

  • yea i wanna see it :) sounds really good

  • nice video dude. were you wearing suit in that video.

  • Coveralls...

  • that snare you set looked a little big for a rabit. if your snaring cottton tail they will run right through most times
