i just love this first contrapunctus. more than any other fugue in the whole cycle. you could mark the high point at 3:03 a little bit more clearly, same for those chords before the rests. imho. thank you, i like.

Prachtig gespeeld Dirk! Gefeliciteerd! Mijn persoonlijke smaak (maar die is persoonlijk hoor) is om het fractioneel langzamer te spelen, waardoor het nog iets mystieker en krachtiger wordt. (vind ik althans, maar dit is dus geen kritiek).

Had je de 6e contrapunctus op orgel door Glenn Gould gehoord? Ik ben niet erg gelovig, maar als ik daarnaar luister ga ik erg twijfelen......

I used the Henle edition..I never think about fingerings..

Very nice playing... I use the Czerny edition, but am thinking about buying the Henle (for the completed final contrapunctus by Davitt Moroney). How is the final "completed" contrapunctus? Do you think it is worth buying just for that?

I like the Henle edition, because of its simplicity. A nice clean edition !

I just ordered it... there is no Henle distributor in Hawaii, so by the mail it will come.  Clean is good, as deciding hand position and voice division in the Czerny edition makes for some intense mental gymnastics :)

The edition is nice and easy to read. I'm not sure if it's worth getting just for the completion. It's neat, but to me it doesn't feel right. There's one completion I want to see that's mentioned on the wiki article for AoF (the one by Göncz). Anyone seen that one?

Have fun! Contrapunctus 3 and 4 are wonderful, also. You could make photocopies to avoid page turns. Just some advice;

1) I didn't sing during my performance.

2) I got the Glenn version only after this recording.

I love to play with a rhythmic precision, and that, I admit, makes part of the Gould interpretation.
