George C Scott isn't too bad in this. If you want to see him in a role he was really miscast in watch the Titanic miniseries which had Catherine Zeta-Jones in the lead. He played Captain Smith (yes, actually, they cast him as Captain Smith!)

Frankly, casting G.C. Scott as Mussolini is more an insult to Scott than it is to Mussolini. That bald lump made Hitler look positively statuesque by comparison.

What's wrong with George C. Scott playing Mussolini? I think he looks fine as the part. He isn't Patton, he is George C. Scott the actor, and as an actor, he plays many roles.

Just remember Mussolini came to power in '22 and was the leader of Italy. King Emmanuelle III was King of Italy. Italy invaded Ethiopia in '35 and used gas against Eithopians. Italy invaded Albania (leadr King Zog) in '38 to check rising Nazi power. Mussolini created the term "Axis" supported Franco in Spain, Joined the Axis by DOW on France in '40. Leader of Italian Social Republic after fall of Italy. Died in '45 by excicution from Italian partisans.

lol this movie is so soap opera-ish - we watched it at A Level and it was bloody entertaining watching George C Scott portray Mussolini as a bumbling family man but pointless in prep for an exam
