In the Christian religion two who are going to be married hear the question: are you willing to be loyal until death does separate you? In other words: if one of the both of you dies the other one is free from what he or she promised. In fact death is needed to keep the sacred marriage alive, to make it eternal. Dying belongs to moments, emotions, mental inner conflicts, every "marriage" stops, dies, time after time again otherwise it will be lifeless and not a marriage in its deepest meaning.
