Isn't the highest/worst earthquake that could be recorded a 10 on the ricter scale? Isn't the difference between a 7 and 9 something like 1000%. Doesn't it work along the same lines as mag 2 is twice as bad as mag 1, and a mag 3 is twice as bad as mag 2, and mag 3 is twice as bad as mag 2, and so on. So there is an ending point. So a mag 10 would pretty much be total annihilation where the Earth just basically explodes.
