i did this for dinner tonight and loved the recipe. i just added vegetable stock with water and used carrots, potatoes and mushrooms. thank u for introducing us to such a delicious and healthy replacement for rice. love ur recipes.
Great video. Consider using stainless steel in the future. I believe there's Teflon lining that wok. There's a saying; "If you have neighbors you don't care for, give them a Teflon pan!"
Great recipe! So easy to do with all your directions. The taste of the pulao was really good.My kids who are pure rice eaters tried it for the first time and loved it!Thanks so much to both of you.Wish you every success.
Made this for dinner tonight and it was excellent. My husband and I like things hot and found that the amount of chili according to the oral directions wasn't enough. Next time I'll add more but you never know with chili's sometime they are hotter than others. Also I made this with cauliflower, carrots and green peas. I don't like when my peas get too cooked, I like them bright green, so I added them last just before serving. This is a wonderful recipe, thanks very much!
I'm glad I found your channel! The food you make looks delicious! I am making this dish tonight but I am omitting the corn (most of it is genetically modified) and subbing organic cauliflower. Will give you feedback on how the recipe turns out!
i kinda screamed when i saw the title of the video - was excited. and it looks great!! i always cook quinoa in a rice cooker and mix it with veggies/salan afterwards but this is a great one-pan alternative. less washing - wooo!!!
Hetal didi and Anuja didi, great job! The Pulao looks sooo good and no wonder you both have such great figures, cuz you cook and eat such healthy food. I'm on a venture to lose some weight and you're recepies will definitly help me. Wish me luck and I seriously want to see both of you on the food network with your Show Me The Curry Show. Keep up the good work.
Hey H & A I made this pulao with pearl millet(bajra ,kambu) thinking it was quinoa ,but still the recipe was kind of delicious.I liked the taste but I couldnt tell whether it is better than quinoa... can I?!
@ambslife : We have not tried that combination but we think it should work (and taste great). If you do try it, pl. share your feedback as it will be useful to us and our viewers :)
part of the reason for rinsing and then soaking the quinoa is it has a natural insect deterrent which is a saponin that needs to be removed. anyone sensative to saponins may not like the flavor. these would probably be the same people that don't like cilantro/coriander because it tastes soapy to them because of the saponin exuded from the leaves. it's not harmful, some people are just sensative to the flavor.
Can this too be cooked in a pressure cooker jus like rice? i have always had a feeling that the rice is done only when i pressure cook! I have been regularly following your videos. the list is endless for the fully satisfied recipes.
@snehasathya : Yes, it can be made in the pressure cooker as well - once the pressure is attained, cook for 5 minutes, turn it off and allow the pressure to release by itself. It takes the same amount of time wither way :)
@caligal2308@ShowMeTheCurry OH YES!!! TEMPEH is a fabulous fermented piece of heaven!!! Fluffy and white when first bought! MmmmmMMMmmmmm!!!!
Talking about FERMENTED, you might wanna try NATTO too. Some Japanese fermented beans that are usually found in the frozen/chilled section of the supermarket. But it IS an acquired taste! Touch it with your fingers...rub it...and you'll see threads...Sniff it...and it smells like dog. Haha! But you guys should try it! Youtube Natto! =p

Quinoa is an Incan super grain originated from PERU, highly regarded in that culture for its nutritional benefits. Just a quick fact, Thanks :)
