I know it was charlie chaplins studio before. I believe it was officially torn down in 1940, I could be wrong. I wish they would make it into a museum for silent comics.
I believe the plaque is on the wrong spot, and that the other corner (the building you shot) is where the studio was. I do not know if that building is original.

Aha! You already knew that! There is some fantastic extras on Buster's Hollywood locations on the DVD 'Keaton Plus'.
