@34celticpride It doesn't take power to plow, it takes traction, something all the trucks have problems with. You could plow with a little V6 chevy, ford or dodge, and it would do just as good as the diesels or big V8's.
@85rotarypower Yes im not saying you need poweer, but you do need even weight, the 1500 with an 8 foot plow is just a littl eheavy without a leveling kit or a lift,,,
@85rotarypower depends on how much snow you have to plow and how heavy it is. I would like to add that a good number of pick up plowers (even pros) think its ok to throw AT or MT tires for the plowing and that mistake comes back to haunt most operators. Also many say they have plenty of weight in the back but forget that by the time freezing starts they already got rid of the salt or sand .What they need is semi permanent weight over the rear axle and yes in some cases snow chains on all four .
No, I'm not on the swap forum. I put the video on only to show my cousin who lives on the west coast. I never expected this much response. Do you have a video of your jeep?
If you do this swap put an overdrive trans in it. I had a sm465 manual and got only 60 mph top speed. I put an ax15 in it and come close to 80. The jeep has a gear ratio of 410 to 1. With a top rpm of 2400 it has the low top speed without overdrive.
was that an elect winch

people that plow with half ton pickups should be shot. They are not meat to plow with
irishtatertot793 2 years ago 3
@irishtatertot793 oh yes, tougher axels and stiffer spring WILL MAKE SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!! lmao
ThePodpie 11 months ago
haha, there is only one true diesel pickup and its a I6... ask any experts!!!!!
rrc5034 2 years ago 3
Oh good, how about the jeep? cuz thats the only "diesel"in the video.....Of course if it had the "I6" it would be better. Just ask the experts.
bedspins 2 years ago
@rrc5034 a diesel is a diesel as long as it fits under hood!
RT360ci 1 year ago
see now if the plow driver had a dodge cummins he wouldn't need to be winched out!
rrc5034 2 years ago
@rrc5034 see if the plower wasnt using a 1500 he wouldnt need to be winched out,the duramax diesel kills the cuimmins and powerchoke

i love your jeep.
how dose it proform? dos it climb well?
how is it off the line?
im thinking of doing the same swap into my tacoma i like the high mpgs.
thanx more vids pleese
MrSaber152 2 years ago
Off the line it's not that good. It max out at 2400rpms. If you want a drag car a v8 would be a better choice. It performs like a " truck"
bedspins 2 years ago
thanx for the speedy reply.
i was just woundering if it could get to freeway speed in a timely fashon.
i know its not the way to build a dragster.

nice job!!! what is the jacket on the line for?
Cambria2007 2 years ago
Incase the cable breaks, the blanket (or jacket) keeps the cable from whipping.

hey whats your hp and ft lbs on that 4 cyl?
dieselp0w3r 3 years ago
The 4BT makes a mild 105 hp but a whopping 265 ft/lbs of torque.
bedspins 3 years ago
thats pretty sweet man what all did you have to do to switch the stock motor out and your rig be fully operational?
dieselp0w3r 3 years ago
call advance adapters for the trans/transfer case adapter, and a lot of welding & fabricating.
bedspins 3 years ago
how long for the whole swap start to finish and whats your mpg and mph
dieselp0w3r 3 years ago
about 60 hours from start two finish. I get 26 mpg with 36 inch tires and about 72 mph top speed.
