Who sets the standards for dance? The originators, but they are long dead. ( History says tango started out as very lively.) So, it up to their descendants to keep the standards. But for the most part, they didn't. Tango survived because of people outside of Latin America kept it alive, along with relative few in Latin America. Hence, tango will evolve according to each new environment it lives in. Its nice to see how people make tango their own, and keep it alive.

I agree with the top 2 posts- Meng doesn't show a respect for the Tradition of Tango- he adds and subtracts whatever he chooses, turning "tango" into something completely different.

It's not about being small-minded, it's about understanding why certain things do and do not apply. Tango is not about jumping and hopping- probably never was.

Está bueno pero me parece que le falta bastante por aprender a esa pareja, empezando por la postura erguida de la chica, un contacto más cercano, un poco menos de suavidad y más pasión. Y esos triples o dobles movimientos parecen propios de los cowboys. Se nota q estaban nerviosos... Pero ya sé, es más difícil de lo q parece.
