The book is called State of Fear, and it's a good read. Make sure you read the footnotes at the end of the book too, it gives some interesting data, and shows how you can cherry pick data that shows parts of the world are cooling. He is not completely sold on AGW, but gives reasons why he feels this way. I learned a bit about urbanization and its contribution to the warming trend.
One of the best discussions I've read surrounding global warming has come from the late Dr. John Michael Crichton - author and creator of E.R. I highly recommend it. The only argument from the global warming deniers which has an iota of traction in my mind is that global warming proponents use their theorizing as a way to maintain research funding. However, it makes me sick that something as potentially critical as the concept of global warming has become a political football. This is science.

The book is called State of Fear, and it's a good read. Make sure you read the footnotes at the end of the book too, it gives some interesting data, and shows how you can cherry pick data that shows parts of the world are cooling. He is not completely sold on AGW, but gives reasons why he feels this way. I learned a bit about urbanization and its contribution to the warming trend.

The only argument from the global warming deniers which has an iota of traction in my mind is that global warming proponents use their theorizing as a way to maintain research funding. However, it makes me sick that something as potentially critical as the concept of global warming has become a political football. This is science.

The fact that Glenn beck and other sceptics don't understand that global warming does not mean that the whole worlds weather systems are going to suddenly be really hot andnsunny shows just how totally stupid he and his peers actually are. In the 70's the Bill Nyes (err...scientists) said that pollution would block out the Sun and cause an ice age! Honestly, do you think driving around in a Prius or using ice cream coned light-bulbs will change this? If you do, you're a moron. I think they both are about improving the ratings of their show and I think they all butcher what each other says...if you are interested in the news that they portray then you should do fact checking of your own because the only agenda here is money. Look to the history of our planet, climate change is a normal cycle of our world whatever is causing it--beware a cause that politicians propagate.

@ishikawaml You sir are incorrect. Climate change is a normal process, but it has been accelerated by the consumption of fossil fuels. Just because what politicians say hurts your world view does not make them wrong. The fast change in climate has given strength to more storms as evaporation off the oceans has increased. This has brought monster storms to California and Australia killing millions. Where I live in Boston, MA we have had two blizzards, and we usually don't see them till February.
