you know the great markting ploy of the 90s music industry, the blur versus oasis distraction. i wonder if supergrass had been lauded as a third party in that fracas, if the outcome would have been quite different. i mean blur were a great band, but were gimmicky often and great song writing seems to always win out. i wonder if supergrass were in that arena they would have pushed the other 2 bands to better themselves as they have great songwriting and a far greater span of styles than oasis??

Road to Rouen is one of the most underrated albuns ever, it's such a shame that it's too short. St. Petersburg, Sad Girl, Roxy and Low C could have been in any John Lennon album, they went a bit melancholic and recorded a great, great work. I got a little disappointed with Diamond Hoo Haa because I thought, at the time, that they would follow the new directions of Road to Rouen.

Anyway, one more great musical act is gone, while things like Lady Gaga are shoved down our throats on a daily basis.
