Why can't people just buy a basic plan that does not have mandates in it.  A good plan for many would be a plan with a low deductible, 80% co-insurance to a maximum out of pocket of $1,000, and an annual maximum benefit of $50,000. That would be great for the majority of people who can't afford insurance currently and it would give them coverage for normal, routine accidents and illnesses. If people need more coverage they could apply for public assistance.

Many of those who cashed in on the clunkers program will get a Holloween Trick when they get to the treasurer's office windows. That's because the government's rebate of up to $4500 dollars for every clunker is taxable.

People didn't realize that would be taxable. A lot of people.

He knew that right before the holidays.. the C4C would "bump" the GDP temporarily to make things look good for a month or so before the GDP took a crash dive once again... Liability reform and allowing insurance companies to sell insurance outside of the state they are in would lower the cost of health care.You could add the uninsured to medicare for much less money than the democrats health care bill cost.

If insurance companies sell insurance outside of their state they will be subject to the interstate commerce clause and the federal government will get involved that they. We need a smaller federal government. It would be nice if "We the People" got to vote on elected officials pensions. Elected officials should not get a pension anyway as an elected position is supposed to be a Temporary job, not a lifelong career.
