I can't understand why so much good doom bands should base on candlemass.

It's boring, it's to soft, it just sucks. And they seem to be christian, which sucks even more, since doom metal bands should be antichristian imo.

@Mephisto28890 Religion is something I believe should be left out of music. If a certain melody makes one feel spiritual, then that's great, but it should be interpreted to each listener, rather than the artist's religion being forced upon us. Candlemass has done nothing wrong in regards to this.

Whenever you produce music, you'll aim for a certain group of people who will listen to your music. @joachimekstrom In a way, I should plead sorry to Candlemass, that back in the 80's I'd persuaded my guitarist to buy the only Epicus LP arrived in our country (Malaysia).... (although we didn't have a record player) so that nobody else around got chance be the fan of the band... Now my friend's kid is in his early 20's; sweating hard playing drum on demon's gate. The legacy lives on...

He doesnt play any drums today though, he played at a digital Roland drumset but he sold it about 1 year ago, i am playing guitar myself and our dream together is to play with each other a little, making some songs with Doom/Death Metal/Hardrock etcetc genre music, and he will maybe eventually buy a ''real'' drumset.

Who knows? Maybe he will start another band, just as he did with Candlemass!
