  • Before passing judgement on TFT, people need to see more TFT videos here, or maybe read the, what I would call, handbook. It's called "How to Survive the Most Critical 5 Seconds of Your Life”

Go to targetfocustraining dot (you know the rest) and check it out for yourself. No, I'm not a spambot and no, I don't own TFT (I've only just started reading the book). What I do believe in is getting information and making up your own mind. Either way.

  • I think it would be ezr to prove innocence rather than harder. Being able to explain why u did what u did, in light of how u were cornered, in fear of being murdered, how u were persuaded your attacker was a genuine threat etc. It's like following a force continuum, just like the cops are supposed to (but often violate), perfectly legally defensible. Way better than "He looked like he was gonna kill me, so I knocked him down with a shovel & hacked off his head with it". -Was he armed? "Nope"...

  • Everyone I do not advise anyone to prove themselves in a scheduled fight for the dumbest reasons such as social smack talking. I stand by what I believe in. I do believe martial arts (MA) are good for kids, teens, and immature adults. I know what is required to win a street fight. I don't respect the MA/MMA disrespecting. They are at a huge disadvantage.

  • I paid 1500 for the weekend 2.5 day class. It was quite good, well run, etc. Obviously I'd have to try it out to know just how good, and I will not be going out and inciting someone to test it for me. But that said, the training does convince me I have a lots better chance in a violent situation wherein there is no opt out. Some people think violence is never justified, but criminals do not act justly, you have to have a plan when it's going down, and this one is great in my estimation.

  • What's the problem with being held to a higher standard anyway? As long as it's not totally biased. If you've got the knowledge, use it! But don't use it incorrectly. Being held to a higher standard should be an honor. Just because you have a gun, for example, doesn't mean you should pull it out because someone just cut you off while driving.

  • @gorcrow TFT always says it is for ABSOLUTELY LAST CHANCE self-defence. If some guy is all like, "Man, you a fag, come suck me, ha ha!" the TFT instructor will just leave. Now, if that same guy then pulls a knife or hits them, or tries to rape them, then a TFT instructor will injure them until they are no longer a threat. Compare that to certain martial arts that would say, "Now you are being insulted . . . unleash the Spinning Back Kick!"

  • TFT is BULLOCKS!!! I took it in college for a PE credit it is SOO STUPID! Unrealistic and does not work. Womenw ill just get raped no matter what if they train in this instead of a real martial art. They only train in slow motion and never use blocks or anything.

  • @MaharlikaAWA So the stuff they teach navy seals is a scam and rip off?...

  • @thejin666 No. Because the NAVY SEALS dont train in this stupid crap. Duh!

  • @MaharlikaAWA Personally i trust the guy who actually teaches the navy seals more than you

  • @thejin666 Oh yeah? Do you know him? Whats his name? And how do you know he personally trains NAVY Seals?

  • @MaharlikaAWA i dont think the BBC and this news program would make an epileptic fit if he was a fraud

  • @thejin666 If you actually believe that TFT is taught to the US Navy SEALS then you are very ignorant. Seals learn Krav Maga, brazilian jiujitsu and more. NOT TFT! Never has it been taught to them or been part of their training curriculum. The Seals have their own martial art style much like the US Marines have MCMAP. TFT is impractical for anyone with gear on and its just stupid and doesnt work. BBC reporting stupid crap is not suprising. The media doesnt know much about fighting.

  • @MaharlikaAWA I think you're the one that is ignorant. I love how you little fuckers come on here talking shit when you obviously know nothing about what you're bashing.

  • @wgparkh Oh really? Ca you show me how I am ignorant or are you just going to insult me like a fool who has no evidence?

  • @thejin666 according to the US Navy Seals blog, Seals learn CQC, orginally a WWII system, and Krav Maga.

  • @MaharlikaAWA - hey puto just cause you like to fight in a protected environment and had some training and some cage fights, that shit don't make you clost to a fighter. I've been in more fights that almost cost me my life than your favorite UFC fighters record so shut the fuck up! Tim or any of the instructors would mop you up if you talked that shit in front of them. Oh and if you've ever talked shit to Jerry or Blake in front of them you would find out that your MMA/MA was a waste of time.

  • @MaharlikaAWA - typical mouthy son of a bitch! Fuck u and MMA, BJJ, TkD, and any other bullshit u think is outstanding. I only use MA for a warm up then I get to the main stuff. Martial arts is good for kids, teens, and immature adults like yourself so I guess you're right; stick with MA/ MMA and I've had more fights than Anderson S. himself and most of the other MMA guys that I am a fan of but I don't hold high in standards. Believe me dork those guys know some amazing stuff that would end u.

  • @21stRevelation So you are willing to prove this in person? There is a website called bullshido that would love to hear you talk about how amazing you are. Make a user name and post about how you can probably beat up anderson silva and anyone else. They will literally travel to your city and meet with you and have a match. Are you game?

  • @MaharlikaAWA in regards to bullshido. not everyone will travel to fight. however, there are "throwdowns" that bullshido sponsors across the country where people meet to test skills. i think that's what you meant to say, that he could go to a throwdown and test skills in a safe environment.

  • @dafushpu That is exactly what I meant. Sorry I did not clarify it enough. There has to be a few people near Arizona who would love to see this guy prove TFT will destroy all UFC fighters including Anderson Silva.

  • @MaharlikaAWA lots of bullshido guys in socal.

  • @dafushpu Did you hear that 21stRevelation? If you want to prove that MMA and Taekwondo or any other martial art does not work you could easily set up a sparring match to prove that TFT will defeat anyone.

  • @MaharlikaAWA - Fuck Bullshido! I've come across that site and all they do is talk shit. How about you find out the information and leave it in my inbox and I'll look into it and it'll be you and I to fight?

  • @lordscrub Oh really? How so? Have you tried out TFT? I did and it sucks. And if you take a look at my profile you know I could kick your ass. I dont see any of your videos, probably becuase you are a pussy and you cant fight.

  • @MaharlikaAWA You want to fight someone that is not threatening your life? You are a DISGRACE to your Sensei. I have been training continuously in the Martial Arts since 1991. I have trained in Tai-jitsu, BJJ, kickboxing, Shotokan Karate, CQC, Escrima and Krav Maga, which I have a black belt in. I have walked away from so many fights. I never tried to start one. Martial Arts are about avoiding idiots, not becoming one.

  • @LincolnMuadib No I dont. Where did I say I want to fight someone who isnt threatening my life? You have a black belt in krav maga? How is that possible? If martial arts are about avoiding idiots, and not becoming one it did not work for you it seems.

  • @MaharlikaAWA If I may quote you- "There has to be a few people near Arizona who would love to see this guy prove TFT will destroy all UFC fighters". I assume you are offering to fight him? After all, if I can once AGAIN quote you- "if you take a look at my profile you know I could kick your ass." That's YOU, starting fights over nothing. I reiterate- your sensei should be ashamed of you. I have a black belt in Krav Maga because I train hard and don't start fights. Try it.

  • @LincolnMuadib You do not have a black belt in krav maga because krav maga has no belt system!! Stop trolling...you are a disgrace to martial arts in general if you dont believe in proving a system or style works. All karate masters back in the day would spar people to prove it works. TFT never proves anything. You have no clue what it means to be a martial artist and you are full of crap. And my responses were towards an idiot who said insulting and ignorant things towards me. Try quoting him.

  • @MaharlikaAWA Actually, you are incorrect. Some styles of KM have belts. I suppose I could have been precise and pointed out that I have graded in, and passed, all Level 1, 2, 3, 4,5,6,7,8,9 and Level 10 grades and that comprises the system, as well as makes me the highest grade possible in the class, along with the other Level-10s, but that's a bit unwieldy to say. THus I use the shorthand term "black belt." Each system must be proven in the arena it was designed for. ..

  • @LincolnMuadib ...thus, to prove a system works in self-defence, one needs to be in a situation where one is in danger. A sparring fight it will not be. "my responses were towards an idiot who said insulting and ignorant things towards me". Oh, call the Wahhmbulance, buddy. Leave your macho posturing at the door.

  • @LincolnMuadib Ok you walk around outside and ill sneak up on you whle wearing my gi and white belt in Judo (or do you want a dobak with black belt in taekwondo?) and ill jump you and randomly attack you. Then see the results!

  • @lordscrub I know, when someone kicks faster than a snail you might get confused....It is you who are confused my friend.

  • @MaharlikaAWA How do you know it does not work? Unless you have been violently assaulted? It is a mindset. I do not believe you took TFT at all, to be honest.

  • @LincolnMuadib have you been violently assaulted? did you use TFT? If not then your opinion is invalid. ALso I have been violently assaulted and I tell you that TFT wouldnt work one bit. Ive been in a few self defense situations attacked by thugs etc...

  • I'm a big fan of tft, but i hate how the news kind of distorts it, they are not learning any special techniques. They are learning a mindset, a philosophy. These are the same "moves" you will find in any martial art. the important thing is your mindset, not what 'moves' you use.

what makes this DIFFERENT is that they aren't just bombarding you with all these techniques, they're teaching you HOW to use any techniques.

  • @dragonking700 - I've known this way of fighting since 2002 and I could say in all honesty this is the best system hands down for the streets/ war. Jerry Peterson is the creator and taught Tim and his crew and thus TFT was created. I believe Tim and his crew did some modifications or brought out some details/information that Jerry didn't teach or didn't want to teach. If you want to get the best of the whole I would seek out SCARS and combine with TFT. This could also make martial arts better.

  • @21stRevelation

again, it's not the techniques, it's the mindset. Just take a technique like the rear naked choke. It obviously works. It can render you unconscious within several seconds. However you are never going to put someone in a rear naked choke by wrestling around with them on the ground for ten minutes, if they are REALLY trying to kill you. However, if you sneak up behind someone and put them in the choke, no matter how skilled or tough they are, they WILL go out in a few seconds.

  • @dragonking700 So why waste money training in TFT spending thousands of dollars when you can train in any martial art and get the same moves? Just change the mindset! Do you seriously think TFT has a better mindset than krav maga?

  • @MaharlikaAWA

They're the same moves, the're just taught wrong. A round kick is a round kick. whether you use it to flick your opponent's face, tap his leg...or smash his knee knee joint...THAT'S what makes the difference.

Also, I would much rather spend a few thousand on something that will actually help me, instead of wasting 10 years of my life training in a dojo and spending money on belts, uniforms, etc.

And have you ever even experienced TFT training, or even read the TFT blog?

  • @dragonking700 I took a whole semester of it in college by a liscensed instructor. I would like for you to meet me and fight me. I will wear my uniform and belt and let see the outcome...

  • A civilian is NOT held to a higher standard. And you dont "remember" -you just act as you´ve been training.

    Read the TFT blog.

  • @CBoavida Sounds like you bought afew videos too

  • @Abobojo Unfortunately not yet. I just have some experience in martial arts and a few real life "confrontations".
