Read the discription people, the guys was suspected of an assault, the officer requested the suspect to get on the ground. Suspect failed to follow directions, suspect was tasered for not following directions. He then attacked the officer, the officer then shot and killed him defending his life. The officer was in the right from the start. Fact is yes there are some bad officers in the world, sadly they make many of the good officer look bad. This is not one of them.

I don't know what he was doing before the officer stop him because i was n't there and did n't see, so i can't comment on what i did n't see, But what i do have a problem with is after he was shot he got no medical attention or treatment, it seems like he was just left there to die, after being shot, i heard at least 3 to 4 gun shots, so i don't know what to make of this its sad.

A baton is not effective in a situation where you are on the ground. like this officer was. And not all cops have Tazers or OC spray. OC spray is terrible at close range while on the ground and he cannot taze a man on top of him because he would taze himself in the process.

At 7 yards there is not enough response time to protect yourself from the attack. When you attack someone that makes their decision for them. There is a huge internal affairs investigation to make sure it was justified. So don't even say, we have a free reign to kill. I believe that's a risk cops should take when going in to a career that influences violence. They promote violence to people that they are "so called" embedded to protect. Look at MMA fighters or Special ops forces. They know how to beat the shit out of, or disarm a subject in matter or seconds. They need special training in that specifc matter. But no, instead they spend more time at the gun range than they do on defensive contact. Good cops don't need a gun. Respect is key.

officer safty was an issue here. the officer did not give him self enough room between his vehicle, him self and shit head. the Detective in plain clothes fired the shots which struck and killed the man with in seconds. the officer suffered sever lacerations to his face and head and needed surgery. its times like this that keep me armed at all times. i dont care who you are or were you are from, there are shit heads EVERYWHERE! thankfully this brother officer had a healthy recovery, stay safe!

I live in the area that this happened. First, he was after the man because he just assualted several people in a cafe. The man had a hx of drug use and violence The man did not act in a civil manner to the requests of the officer so the force used escalates from there.The officer did not want this to happen. He suffered some pretty serious injuries and had to have surgeryt If the officer had not shot him, he would possible been killed himself. If in the same situation, I would do the same.

Until someone like EMS declares him dead they have to handcuff him. Its usually standard procedure. There have been cases where the assailant isn't dead and pulls out a weapon or tries to escape. Read the discription people, the guys was suspected of an assault, the officer requested the suspect to get on the ground. Suspect failed to follow directions, suspect was tasered for not following directions. He then attacked the officer, the officer then shot and killed him defending his life. The officer was in the right from the start. Fact is yes there are some bad officers in the world, sadly they make many of the good officer look bad. This is not one of them.

I don't know what he was doing before the officer stop him because i was n't there and did n't see, so i can't comment on what i did n't see, But what i do have a problem with is after he was shot he got no medical attention or treatment, it seems like he was just left there to die, after being shot, i heard at least 3 to 4 gun shots, so i don't know what to make of this its sad.

At 7 yards there is not enough response time to protect yourself from the attack. When you attack someone that makes their decision for them. There is a huge internal affairs investigation to make sure it was justified. So don't even say, we have a free reign to kill. I believe that's a risk cops should take when going in to a career that influences violence. They promote violence to people that they are "so called" embedded to protect. Look at MMA fighters or Special ops forces. They know how to beat the shit out of, or disarm a subject in matter or seconds. They need special training in that specifc matter. But no, instead they spend more time at the gun range than they do on defensive contact. Good cops don't need a gun. Respect is key.

officer safty was an issue here. the officer did not give him self enough room between his vehicle, him self and shit head. the Detective in plain clothes fired the shots which struck and killed the man with in seconds. the officer suffered sever lacerations to his face and head and needed surgery. its times like this that keep me armed at all times. i dont care who you are or were you are from, there are shit heads EVERYWHERE! thankfully this brother officer had a healthy recovery, stay safe!

I live in the area that this happened. First, he was after the man because he just assualted several people in a cafe. The man had a hx of drug use and violence The man did not act in a civil manner to the requests of the officer so the force used escalates from there.The officer did not want this to happen. He suffered some pretty serious injuries and had to have surgeryt If the officer had not shot him, he would possible been killed himself. If in the same situation, I would do the same.

To assume that cops are judges, or that cops instincts are always truthful and accurate therefore they should be entrusted with the power to remove someone out of this world by the simple pull of a trigger, is foolish. All of you who judge and shout racist slurs, put yourself in this man's shoes and see past the color of his skin. No matter this man's crimes, he should have been tried. This is not justice.

It's only natural for a man to want to defend himself from being imprisoned, lose all his rights, and etc. You all act like cops are the ones that should be able decide someone's fate. Don't you realize? A man has ceased to exist because of a police officer. No one likes to be bossed around, this is not a nazis state, when you tell someone to get on their knees and they choose not to comply should they lose their lives? Look at the big picture and stop being simple minded.

@marc15yo How is it simple-minded? This OUR society, we choose to live in it - and that means we agree to a police force that has policies for protecting the peace. Don't like it, vote to change it, or get out of the society. This police officer was assaulted and feared for his life. The assailant was a suspect in a violent crime; therefore, the officer had reason to be overly cautious and pulled his gun. If you fight a person of peace who's pointing a gun - you're an idiot. We know this.

It's all been illegal and Imperialistic - I suppose that crossed your mind when you decided to join. Of course, you could be like many servicemen/women and have no direction or money and join just to make a living - sad part is that you have a good chance of dying in the process. Is it worth it? Until someone like EMS declares him dead they have to handcuff him. Its usually standard procedure. There have been cases where the assailant isn't dead and pulls out a weapon or tries to escape. Yes there are ignorant hillbilly cops out there who shouldn't have a badge but these cops gave him every warning, and tried using non-lethal force first which failed.

OH. and by the way, the person attacking you has already been stopped/arrested for previous charges. AND you HAVE already tried other ways, involving 1) commanding him to follow orders. warning him. 2) hand-to-hand combat. 3)last warning to get on the ground after the shot; shot was not meant to be fatal.

I don't care what color the man is, if he attacks the officer the officers has the right to defend himself or his partner. The officer did try the taser first but it did not work. As for killing someone, that's never a good thing but if it comes between you and your family or friends getting hurt and you don't do what you can to protect them, your not worth the time it took to make you.

You only get one life, and if there is anyway to avoid taking someones life why not? He shot the guy in the chest, there are plenty of different places that he could have shot him.
