Is it true that Pernell Roberts quit the show because of the racism portrayed against the Native Americans, and especially against the Chinese (Hop Sing)?
@amjklaassen no he quit mainly because he wanted to have more control in the filming and directing and the director would not let him act without his hairpiece
If only we could have had a final episode that reunited the whole cast for one last epic spectacle at the Ponderosa Ranch. But even without that, the show beats anything on TV now, BY FAR! Love this show now, and love it forever.
@Macarze I'm not even into westerns and I love this show!! There are so many classic shows I wish I had on dvd or at least on my computer. The only two modern shows I keep up with are Family Guy and The Event, and The Event is about to have it's finale on Monday, so it's about to only be Family Guy I follow. I lost count of how many classic shows I follow. Andy Griffith tops the list. It is followed very closely by The Twilight Zone. =D
so brilliant....... Bonanza was my favorite ever series.....I remember this so well from abot 30 years ago.... every sunday afternoon here in germany.... ty
