So after all the transfering to videotape, the tapes are disintegrating? We all know that DVDs degrade over time, so what medium is there to preserve these treasures for a longer period of time, and how (other than monetarily) can I help?
I'm assuming that the "questions" were meant to be rhetorical for the viewer to ponder because he surely knows the answers. It is OBVIOUS that the guy next to Carney was Hal March (who was NOT in Phil Silvers' show--that was Allan Melvin. The guy mentioning Kate was Kate Smith's longtime manager Ted Collins. Surely Ira Gallen knew that, just like he of course knows who Faye Emerson was. I'm just worried that all that film in rusty metal cans are developing vinegar syndrome.
tvdays, great job. i admire your hard work. if you find any Jack Owens Show reels, let me know. i'll buy some.
Jack Owens, the Cruising Crooner also of Breakfast Club fame on radio, had his own show on TV and radio from 1950-55, on different channels/stations. i think he got 2 Emmy nominations, too.
"WHO is this guy?" Is asked at 6:19 in this video. I don't know...but he mentions "Kate's radio show". That could only be KATE SMITH'S radio show. So, if her show is researched, I'm sure the identity of this gentleman can be ascertained. Hope this helps!
Hal March, he also played Burns and Allen's next door neighbor for a few episodes and was host on "$64,000 Question" which caused him to disappear from television when it came out the contestants were given answers. Mad a few movies after that.
this is amazing man...i recall some films when i was a little boy hahahaha.. good job on archiving and digitization. hope you can someday upload some old tv shows
I am in awe of this collection.....I can't believe there isn't a sponsor. This is another side of american history that should never be ignored.

Maybe the Smithsonian, or the three major networks could help out. Fascinating and applaudable undertaking that you have taken on.

The guy next to Art Carney looks like the actor who played Ricky Ricardo's press agent on I Love Lucy. I think it's him.
