  • I am in awe of this collection.....I can't believe there isn't a sponsor. This is another side of american history that should never be ignored.

  • Wow, is this ever great...You have done a fantastic job for all of us that were kids in the 50's and the 60's.....

  • 6:53 - Q: Who is next to Art Carney? A: Hal March. (didn't he host a game show? was also on an I Love Lucy episode....

  • Thanks for the sub.

    Cheers from Brian

  • @OZHARP welcome to my nightmare

  • Thanks for saving what you can, it`s great.

  • @bigtarrose pleasure

  • IRA do you have any sponsorship yet in respect to saving this wonderful collection ?

  • @nodnops Someday. Right now no one cares.

  • @nodnops NOTHING but where working on it. Thanks for watching

  • youre amazing. thank you so much for all of your work

  • @lambchopxoxo i try thanks

  • Fabulous absolutely fabulous collection, of videos!!!!

  • thnks Mr Gallen ! ! !

  • You are my hero.

I've always wondered what happens to old TV commercials when they've been retired.

  • @RonNasty thanks for your thoughts

  • Maybe the Smithsonian, or the three major networks could help out. Fascinating and applaudable undertaking that you have taken on.

  • So after all the transfering to videotape, the tapes are disintegrating? We all know that DVDs degrade over time, so what medium is there to preserve these treasures for a longer period of time, and how (other than monetarily) can I help?

  • I'm assuming that the "questions" were meant to be rhetorical for the viewer to ponder because he surely knows the answers. It is OBVIOUS that the guy next to Carney was Hal March (who was NOT in Phil Silvers' show--that was Allan Melvin. The guy mentioning Kate was Kate Smith's longtime manager Ted Collins. Surely Ira Gallen knew that, just like he of course knows who Faye Emerson was. I'm just worried that all that film in rusty metal cans are developing vinegar syndrome.

  • what funny is how many young people seeing that clip have no idea which one is Art . I have lots of Faye Emerson stuff.

  • tvdays, great job. i admire your hard work. if you find any Jack Owens Show reels, let me know. i'll buy some.

Jack Owens, the Cruising Crooner also of Breakfast Club fame on radio, had his own show on TV and radio from 1950-55, on different channels/stations. i think he got 2 Emmy nominations, too.

  • great stuff!!!

  • Thanks

  • thanks

  • Wow for the Chunky candy commercial near the end. Chunky is my favorite and its hard to believe it was only 5 cents back then.

  • It's "negative", not "negitive", dear.

  • Wonderful over-view! THANKS!

  • You're great. I might have to buy a DVD or two....

  • I like that idea. I can use all the help I can get. Thanks again.

  • I did, they're great, thanks.

  • Television is the opiate of the masses and you are a dealer. ;-)

  • You should have your own cable channel just showing this historical stuff. Thanks for posting

  • It is so nice to watch these films. Thank you.

  • thanks soory late answering

  • You deserve a grant.

  • "WHO is this guy?" Is asked at 6:19 in this video. I don't know...but he mentions "Kate's radio show". That could only be KATE SMITH'S radio show. So, if her show is researched, I'm sure the identity of this gentleman can be ascertained. Hope this helps!

  • Ahh, back then when good presidents were taken for granted...

  • Every American should own a piece of this history!!!

  • what great footage!!! the 9.29 minutes brougth back a flood of memories. I would love/wish to help the cause.... :)

  • The guy next to Art Carney looks like the actor who played Ricky Ricardo's press agent on I Love Lucy. I think it's him.

  • Hal March, he also played Burns and Allen's next door neighbor for a few episodes and was host on "$64,000 Question" which caused him to disappear from television when it came out the contestants were given answers. Mad a few movies after that.

  • bravo

  • this is amazing man...i recall some films when i was a little boy hahahaha.. good job on archiving and digitization. hope you can someday upload some old tv shows

  • nice
