my brother just bought this laptop ! and he loves it :D i tried Crysis at 1366x768 with a combination of high-medium settings and i get 35 fps , nice :)

I have had this Laptop for about 2 months now, and every day I'm surprised by what it can handle. This is the best price to power ratio currently available.

The quality and everything is just wonderful.

The only minus i that the charger plugs in from the left side .. and if you plug in an ethernet cable, the charger's wire gets all the heat from the opening of cooler.

To those glorifying the i7 - If you enjoy games such as BF3 and Witcher 2, which take full advantage of quad-cores, an i7 will be better.. Majority of games are two-core optimized, therefore i5 is perfectly fine and the best bang for buck right now (650$ in Canada)

If you want an i7 version of this laptop, you will be paying around 800$+. Right now, a G53SW is selling for 899$ on Tiger Direct.

Yes. It can handle games on medium-high. Get either the i5 or i7 version since i3 does not have turbo boost.

I'm buying this very laptop in 4 days, so psyched! It's on sale for 649$ (i5 version). Best bang for buck under 700$. The Acer's in the same price/spec category have throttling issues/over-heat, so Asus is the champion winner in that respect.

@MrSiloterio that is because witcher 2 is baddly coded, for example GTA IV lags on my computer for just a bit on loads (weird!) but skyrim doesnt on highest.

@patdzon that´s because this laptop is hibrid... so PC will choose to don´t use the videocard sometimes... to have much better experience with witcher 2, right click on the game icon, then place the mouse on "run with graphics processor" and choose "nvidia" option :D... that solves all your problems :D

about the i7 just install Intel turbo boost software from Intel website and ur CPU will hit 2.9 easily with no worries at all

I buyed this laptop 1/2 months ago for 550 euro's and i'm STILL amazed off what this laptop can handle!

I run Mafia II with 40 fps on it and get +30 fps on Crysis 2.

@iBsoool I have that laptop but with 8 gb ram. I am happy with it. My keyboard keys A,S,D and E are getting worn hehe and I think you can guess why...also R,T,N,I,O,L, BACKSPACE and SPACE are losing their color. It's very easy to change keyboard and I have had this computer for about 9 months. There is nothing wrong with the keyboard, just that the color and letters are fading.

@boyfromwest yes you can play world of warcraft and other mid-high range games on this.. i do reccomend the I7 version of this one tough the I5 does the job.. for example.. you can play call of duty black ops on the highest settings with this.

@4000marco actually you can play all high end videogames... but you have to pick the videocard instead of the chipset, since this computer is hibrid... it will sometimes not use the videocard if you don´t ask it for it... to ask the pc to use the videocard right click on the videogame icon, then in "run with graphics procesor" then choose nvidia videocard... otherway you will run some games with no videocard... come on I can run crysis 2 pretty well lol

@Placeboworld1000 not really you dont have to choose to run the video card instead of the chipset.. that would be kind of redicioules, if you have the right drivers it should automatically choose the installed video card.

@4000marco not in some games... yes in almost all games, believe me... I was playing Alice Madness Return pretty good with no videocard... but when I turned on videocard I was able to turn all video options in max settings except physics... :)

@4000marco and yes cause its an hibrid laptop... so it choose to use the videocard or the chipset... videocard for most demanding programs, chipset for low demanding programs to save energy... same with the CPU... it can use less CPU if u like to
